Taco Bell - Where's the Beef? No really, where's the beef?

According to a recent federal class action lawsuit, it is purported that the beef in Taco Bell’s filling is less than 35% beef. You read that right. Still hungry for some Taco Hell? Think again and read this: Taco Bell fights beef charges with ‘truth’ ads, may countersue - USATODAY.com

I always knew that wasn’t meat. Even the Mexican community wont eat it and they know there tacos. Have you ever ate a real authetic mexican taco ? Mmmmmmm. TB doesn’t even look like meat. Nasty shit man. If you want tacos just make them at home. Use ground turkey you cant tell the difference. Yummmy. All fast food is nasty in my opinion. Boston Chicken seems ok but I cant think of any others I would waste my money on.

I don’t even eat beef to be honest. Ground turkey all the way

Ever see how nuggets are made?

My sentiments exactly! My body actually gets sick if I eat fast food. I’ve done ground turkey tacos but prefer beef. It’s all about seasoning and quality of ingredients.

I can’t even think about eating that stuff, just the thought of it makes me sick!

Taco spelled backwards… OCAT! :open_mouth:

Ground pork tacos, love 'em. Trust me, leaves beef in the dust, you’ll never go back!

Meow

Yeah, living on the border with Mexico, I used to go there for tacos. Not any more, a guy could get killed now.:open_mouth:

Taco spelled PUA = P*ssy -LOL. I couldn’t help myself

Got Netflix? Watch Food Inc.

It has majorly influenced my eating habits…thank god there is a “real beef” market here, where cows actually have real cow lives and eat grass like they’re sposed to (instead of indigestible corn)…you can just look at the meat t the store, that pink stuff is crap, the darker red is better…

I used to just thoughtlessly go to Mcdonalds, but I can’t now…eewwww…

and as for milk, hit Costco for the organic milk…I noticed I used to love milk to the point of being a milk-a-holic, but then I didn’t like it so much anymore. I thought it was me changing, but when I tasted the “organic” (which is actually what “regular” milk used to be") I realized it was the milk that had changed, not me. Be careful of “horizon” brand though, they have a bad rep of claiming "organic: but cheat and have been busted more than once.

Watch Food, Inc. It will definitely change your perspective, and you’ll definitely lose weight (if you want to) once you know where your food is really coming from.

Every dollar you spend on fake, genetically modified, chemically-laden, tortured-animal food will not only dramatically increase your chances of dying a painful, cancerous, morphine-assisted death, and will just give them more money to keep on doing it.

And did you know, that when animals are killed in the cruel, inhumane and careless ways that they are killed now, “fear and stress” are released into that meat, that ends up in your body. Yum!!

Thank god for our local real meat market, or I might be forced to go veggie! (but, umm, do beans and veggies feel “fear and stress” when they are harvested? Who really knows?)

Its sad that there are only a couple huge companies whom supply the bulk of what we eat and we cant regulate their practices in any form or fashion. It makes me wonder what their own families eat in comparison to the load of crap they sell to the country.

We CAN regulate their practices, by boyootting those products and maybe spending a little more for “real, non-tortured, non, growth hormone food”. It wouldnt be forever, because if enough of us do it, they will have to change their ways, since their market will be shrinking.

Of course, there will always be those who refuse to change because thwy don’'t care what’s going into their bodies or can’t or won’t temporarily pay a little more for “real food”.

But just as every vote counts in an election, so does each food purchase decision that each consumer makes.

Did you know that the US is the only country that allows the disgusting and wrongful production and sale of food for human consumption? For a country that’s supposedly so “advanced”, that’s pretty messed up.

And look at our rates of obesity, diabetes and other food-related health issues in the US as compared to other countries.

Actually, Canada is pretty close to us. I was reading an article a couple of weeks ago. There was this study on people who were made ill by food. 33% of Canadians were made ill by their food, 25% of Americans were. The number for Britain was 3% and France 2%.:open_mouth:

Lol, I’ve always known that taco bell’s made from grade F pseudo beef… but it’s never stopped me from eating it, and it won’t stop me from eating it in the future. Unsurprisingly, I’m also a fan of McDonalds (and fast food in general).

The key is everything in moderation.

As much as I like Taco Bell and fast food in general, this has made me think twice about it. I don’t eat it that much anymore anyway, but I feel you. I crave me some taco bell. Lately though I have been disappointed with taste and overall goodness of it.

I mean to say, I DO realize how bad america is with it’s processing of food, but I feel that now-a-days everything we do and/or come in contact with on a semi-daily basis will cause cancer and/or kill us. There’s so much stuff going on in my life, I can’t find the time to stress about it (and as a college student, I can’t find the money to buy food products that won’t kill me). If it’s somewhat edible and cheap, I’ll eat it.

Aaaaand on that note, someone asked me at a networking thing “what’s your favorite food?” and I accidentally said “I like anything I can put in my mouth”… He was like “…anything?”

Oops.

That’s EXACTLY what I would have said

Taco Bell denies this and says their products are 88% beef w/ fillers. I guess the courts will decide.

Actually, many of the Mexicans around here (Ontario, Canada) love Taco Bell. Taco Bell is my goto fast food, most other stuff leaves me feeling terrible. I couldn’t eat two fast food meals in a day.

Why does nobody question the FDA about their regulations of it being ok to serve beef as beef even if it is only 40% real beef. This lawsuit would never have even come about if taco bell had only 4 -5% more beef in their meat… that is disturbing.
