The mystery of putatives

The word putative is very interesting to me.

putative (ˈpjuːtətɪv)

— adj
1.	( prenominal ) commonly regarded as being: the putative father
2.	( prenominal ) considered to exist or have existed; inferred
3.	grammar denoting a mood of the verb in some languages used when the speaker does not have direct evidence of what he is asserting, but has inferred it on the basis of something else

[C15: from Late Latin putātīvus supposed, from Latin putāre to consider]

At first I thought that the word was like analogue. I assumed that putatives were close to pheromones, but not quite real pheromones. This is sort of true, but I don’t think that’s how putative is being used by Androtics. If they were using analogues, one might guess that say, P83 and P79 were analogues of androstenol or androstenone. However I think the meaning of putative in this case has been used to denote theoretical pheromones which could have some effect on the VNO or CNS, but was inferred perhaps by researching the molecular structure of pheromones rather than what is naturally available.

What do you think putative means in the sense that Androtics has used it? Have you come up with any grand theory of how putatives are made, researched or theorized on?

You could put your cursor over the word ‘putative’ in your post

LOL! Funny guy!

always funny to see /thread in the first post.

seriously though i don’t get to test these enough since i rarely go out socially anymore (perhaps due to other androtics products, i’ve got my own harem in my house already) and only use the tried and true to enhance and improve the business side and the negotiating room is no place for putatives.

remember ralphie from a christmas story? every time i think of putative pheromones his desire for a red ryder bb gun comes to mind.

I’ve red rydered myself with a custom mix a few times.

well the worst i’ve done with putatives is having my “perfume” described as smelling like the open sewers that are common in asia.

haven’t shot my eye out yet, fingers crossed.
