The pheromone crash - how to fend it off

I’ve read a few posts from people saying they have a crash after using pheromones. This isn’t something I’ve experienced blatantly (ie. there are always other contributory factors that could be responsible when I have felt it a bit, like a late night, or a sugar crash) but I thought I’d have a look into it a little.

One thing people speculate is that it is because your neurotransmitters need time to recover / replenish - this is especially true where people have worn a high mcg of some products (there is a recent post about TAH causing this kind of downer). OD TAH = Man crying uncontrollably

There are some suggestions for food in that thread from Bella, that are so good I thought it was worth having a thread of it’s own. So I had a look into the nutrition - these are interesting reading, take out of it what you will.

Finding Happiness the Natural Way - Finding Happiness the Natural Way.

Optimal Brain Nutrition for Mental and Emotional Well-being - Optimal Brain Nutrition.

From each I’ve taken that I’m doing good if I:

  • eat lots of raw fruit and veg
  • avoid sugar / any high GI foods
  • eat lots of lean protein like fish, chicken, eggs, whey protein shakes.
  • drink water

In other words, eat sensibly

Caveat: I’m in no way medically trained so this is just info I found interesting - make your own decisions and reach your own conclusions!

When I get the crash, for me, it means it’s time for bed!

A Pheromone crash is much like a caffeine crash or a sugar crash. To much of any good thing can make you feel like bla. Usually just like with caffeine your body adjusts to it and eventually you dont experience those crashes.

There are ways to combat it. Getting enough sleep and eating right are part of it. Seems those are pretty much the standard to everything in life LOL

B-complex vitamins are also very good to take daily. Just make sure you get a good brand.

Nootropics which Jasmin touches on here >>> Nootropics: any personal advice or experience to share?

There is also a few other threads on this subject that are good just use the search function.

I have been juicing I usually use pears apples carrot yam kale and grapefruit and in the winter I have added garlic and ginger to the juicer and make a drink almost daily and that does the trick for me. The guys may want to use more celery in there juice because its known to increases testosterone but you really cant eat enough to do it. Its easy with the juicer though. You dont need a real expensive one either. I use the Jack Lalanne one and it works fine.

Nuts like walnuts or almonds are good replenishes for the brain as well. Just dont over do the eggs

Staying hydrated is important not with beer but water LOL

Anywhoooo…

The pheromone crash is not harmful to your brain. It doesn’t cause lasting damage or hurt you in any way. You will replenish your neurotransmitters naturally we do it all the time.

Symptoms of the crash are …

Mild headaches
Sudden fatigue
cranky moody behavior (with no other reason)
feeling lightheaded. (for no other medical reason)

There are probably more but these are the only ones I have noticed and I haven’t gotten any of them in a long time because of I am used to mones and my juicing.

Thanks Tisha, awesome info!

Thank you awesome and important subject. I hope more people have tips as well.

I’d been taking a variety of supplements even before I started using pheromones, Acetyl-l-Carnitine, Choline, DMAE, phosphatidylserine as well as 5HTP and St Johns Wort.

Most have been shown to act neurotransmitter precursors or act as reuptake inhibitors.
5HTP and St Johns wort oddly enough have been shown to support higher levels of serotonin which has been shown to be elevated in the males of certain species of social mammals that achieve alpha male status. Given that none seems to be elevated when testosterone is elevated yet A314 which gives an alpha male vibe is more Rone based, I can’t help but wonder if there might be a connection between Rone and serotonin.

I’ve never gotten a moan crash, even with repeated OD doses. However, I do get caffeine and sugar crashes and recall the hellish downers from coke and speed while studying for finals in college. I strongly suspect most moan users experiencing crashes will, with regular use, find the crash symptoms fading to little or nothing. Your body adapts and what was sensational will eventually be routine and not even warrant a blip on your radar.

Incidentally, St Johns Wort makes me so sensitive to plant extracts the mere touch or a cologne, moan with fragrance or live plant leaves me with a bleeding rash. A few minutes of sunlight gives me a sunburn. Certain fabrics and soaps gave me a rash too (clothing labels were especially toxic). It took a couple months to get the St Johns Wort out of my system after only a couple weeks of use. One of the worse experiences of my life.

I do tend to get tired after using mones, but can’t say it is excatly due to “crash”. Maybe? However, I have to read and anazlyze over 100 pages of some stuff evertday (plus, I spend much time reading MSNBC, CNN, sports, etc) so my brain is already pretty highly active; mones probably make it work even more excessively.
But then again, also I tend to get weird reactions sometimes from drinking coffee from starbucks; I get palpitations, agitation, restlessness and other stuff that is due to too much stimulation, and most pple hardly experience them…
Any suggestion for pple in a situation similiar to mine?

You’re probably just sensitive to caffeine, caffeine is a vasoconstrictor so it can also narrow the blood vessels thus causing high blood pressure in some or if used all the time. On another note supposedly it can also cause “stim dick,” not sure if any of you have heard of this but stimulant abuse can sometimes cause a limp noodle. Shrugs

Yeah, I hate that. Sometimes it helps to look at pictures of dolphins and flowers. At the very least you’ll fly half mast.

LMAO.

I am experiencing my first crash.

Mental fatigue.
Feeling negative - down feelings
At a low ebb.

While this is happening I am completely off the mones while my neuro transmitters recover. I had been using the mones for 7 months with regular breaks and eating healthy. I have ordered some nootropics to prevent this in the future.

I hope I can start wearing my mones again soon - I feel naked without them.

I got my order from this link if anyone is interested. I hope piracetam is safe to use. Has anybody used this before?

Piracetam 800 mg 120 caps

Yes, safe. About as toxic as tea if I remember correctly. I take Piracetam with Hydergine as the two potentiate each other. The only warning I’d give is to watch your caffeine intake as I find that Piracetam and caffeine can make things quite ‘buzzy’.

800mg a day is fine as a maintenance (longer-term every-day) dose. Some people recommend starting with a high (called “attack”) dose of anything up to 3 tablets a day for a few days but I’ve never tried that.. After taking Piracetam on and off for many years I only take it a couple of times a week now at most. I found that getting into a habit of eating better foods was far more important than the right supplements.

Remember: you’ll still need to keep taking your vitamins if you take nootropics like Piracetam. Piracetam doesn’t help replenish neurotransmitters if there are no nutrients going to your brain; think of nootropics as top-grade engine oil and a turbocharger combined; you’ll still need petrol (vitamins/nutrients) to make the engine work but it’ll work better and more efficently on the same amount of input.

Can anyone tell me how long a pheromone crash lasts?
How long does it take for the neuro transmitters to be fully replenished?
2 weeks? 2 months?

What can I do to quicken the recovery process?
Nootropics? Omega fish oils?

There are two forms of neurotransmitter crash: depletion and desensitization.

Depletion means that hormones/neurotransmitters get used up and have to be replenished. Depending on the chemical it might take anything from 1 to 4 days. About 2 days is a good general guess.

Desensitization is less likely but will take longer to recover from when it happens. I’ve overdone a few things (not phermones) and it’s taken me a week or so to recover.

Yes. Nootropics can help, but nutrients are best. Omega Fish Oil, green vegetables, nuts (zinc, magnesium, vitamin-E). For men it’s important that your zinc levels don’t get too low so nuts/seeds are an important source. Lean meat and some unsaturated fats are also necessary so that your body can start to convert food into (eventually) androgens (sex hormones) via Cholesterol.

I can’t stress enough that Eggs are probably the easiest, cheapest, most complete way to get back on form.

It’s one of the longest studied nootropics and is quite safe.

You need to take piracetam with a choline source (alpha gpc or choline citrate is best) otherwise you may find yourself becoming lethargic and cranky.

A.

A very important wrinkle when using nootropics… I’ve extensively tested every one that ever hit the market… (my personal fave is Oxiracetam…feels like it goes deeper than Piracetam)…

Timing is quite important… they also rev up brain metabolism and can stress an already stressed brain…

You will need a fallow period to slowly rebuild your neurotransmitter levels during which you should use no stimulants at all…

Sometimes a replenisher like phosphatidyl serine can be helpful in moderation… because you need to restore your background levels of neurotransmitters… (PS will convert to the transmitter acetylcholine,
5-HTP will convert to serotonin)…

You do have to be careful if you are taking any other meds or drugs to insure you don’t have a bad interaction so be conscientious and don’t start swallowing handfuls of pills with unknown side effects…

Inositol is an excellent and cheap nutrient as well, nice and calming and good for your liver.

The critical point is don’t try and slam yourself from one state to another, you’ll just overstress an already stressed bunch of brain cells.

Once you’ve gotten your backorders of neurotransmitters filled, then you might want to use a judicious amount of a nootropic…more is often not better as there seems to be an optimal point after which the effects actually degrade, this is known as the Inverse U-shaped dosage/response curve…

Overuse can result in muscle tension, difficulty sleeping, and irritability… bad cross reactions can occur when using any other potent stimulant like amphetamines, ritalin, adderall, cocaine, etc…

Bipolar disorder, manias, psychoses, etc… completely contraindicated too…

Nootropics are great in some people and completely inappropriate in others.

Hi Tacitus and thanks for the info.

Just to summarize - Since my phero crash I have not been using any pheromones at all. Are you recommending that I don’t use Piracetam until my neurotransmitters have replenished or it will stress my brain cells? How long will this take?

At the moment I am going to use omega fish oils, vitamins and good food sources like celery, nuts and eggs.

Really appreciate your knowlege.
Mackie

No. I’m not saying that.

Go ahead and take piracetam: just make sure you eat well and don’t only rely on the nootropics. Google and Eggs are your friends.
