Hi All,
I know this is a strange topic to throw up onto the forum, but is it possible to Trademark a pheromone? I know its possible to patent various discoveries and inventions, but trade mark them? I’m not a legal buff (Obviously) but if anyone knows, please answer.
I ask because I was looking over the Pherlure packaging last night and found their claimed pheromone (Di-Dehydroepiandrosterone) is trademarked, and with my very very limited knowledge, I’m pretty sure you can’t trademark a chemical or a pheromone, which may prove the ingredient to be fraudulent.
Let me know!

You can trademark a unique name, Liquid Love™; patent a unique design or invention, e.g., A-1 mixed with scent; and copyright© original artwork, writing or musical compositions.
Perhaps they invented and named “Di-Dehydroepiandrosterone?” I suspect so as it doesn’t appear to be a functional human mone (no workie). Just a fancy trade name designed to have a quasi-scientific vibe and fool the foolish and unaware.
Mmm! Exactly my point, they’d have to have invented it to Trademark it, and secondly, it couldn’t be a working pheromone, if working pheromones could be trademarked, I’m pretty sure alphanol and betanol, -none etc would be TM-ed before Di-De… whatever.
