Olfact Amorous - Received everything as described!

Steve - I love him. So glad he is on this community. Couldnt be more perfect!!! You not the products <3

That would be kind of hard to do really. They pay and they get their products. I wouldn’t want to call out anyone who begged me to hold stuff then backed out. LOL. I honestly wouldn’t know how to say anything but here let me attempt.

CoolKat paid me what I asked him to for the product I was selling at the price I was selling it for. He wanted it with delivery confirmation and even though it was not necessary he included the extra for it in his payment. I was so pleasantly surprised when I actually got paid the amount I had asked to sell the product for.

Not like those other guys who sent me only 3% of what I asked for and still expected the product. That one guy John Sebastian insisted I take nothing and still send it. I was frightened so I did. I cried myself to sleep that night in fear he was going to break out my windows and beat me like a red headed step child. He took my whole collection of A314 bottles, even my bottle with Royal Oil before there were lot numbers. He also took all my Putatives. I had every putative in 5 ml from P74 all the way to P126. He insisted I smash on the ground all the 30 ml bottles I had. Damn you JS. I will release the Craken on you!

lol, Steve. I was just trying to protect some traders/sellers. YOu know how there are some people out there that promise to send goodies or money afterward, but they never do. you know, I think that is messed up…

I agree with yah that there are some messed up people in the world. You really can’t blame anyone though, except yourself, if you are sending products out before they are paid for. It’s just not smart. It might seem as if its nice thing to do, but all you are really doing is empowering someone to steal from the community, our community.

I do realize that some of you are trading products. It’s were issues arise because if you send something out and then the other person never does, you have serious issues. There really isn’t a way to resolve something along those lines.

However the forum will not become a place to call out anyone for something that happened off line. The rules are simple, if you have something nice to say then say it as loud as you want. If someone wrongs you by not doing what they were supposed to, there’s nothing you can do. If you call them out on it, in effect you have violated forum rules. That’s what it means when it says, use at your own risk.

I posted my reply to you in jest to enlighten those reading that it is a serious concern. If I was serious, sure I might have outed JS, but the post would have been removed for violation of forum rules, and I would be the one warned or worse.

Also you might want to consider that unless asked specifically, some people would rather their purchase remain anonymous.

Wait, so we can’t even say anything on the forums if someone doesn’t fulfill their end of the deal? I know AD wasn’t going to do anything to rectify the situation but I thought we could at least mention it in a post. Their should at least be accountability within the community even though there is no action by administrators. That’s par for the course when it comes to trading/selling on forums. Sadly I think there will be no further transactions on my part if that’s the case.

I honestly don’t have an answer here my friend. I can see this whole thing spiraling out of control. I’m sure at that point the best thing to do would be simply to not allow it to begin with.

I understand completely the incompleteness of the system. I really really do. Think about it though. I make a trade and send it to you. You say you didn’t get it. You complain on the forum. Then I come back and say eheh, he’s lying I did send it. All of a sudden it becomes this big hate fest.

Remember the who negged you thread? Started as a way to express yourself, but turned into a hate filled disgusting call out session.

I have no answers here. So I guess if you want to call someone out, that’s your right. It’s also the right of the forum to warn someone and either moderate that user, or ban them for violating the forum rules. Then again I’ve always believed to leave the person with more value than they ever expected . Suggestions would be wonderful here. I’m at a loss

I think its a good idea to at least make it known which sellers on the trading post are reputable. So with that I want to say a big thanks to Steve. Quick shipping with many extras
now if only I can figure out this Gables-a-plenty =)

Olfact Amorous, what do you think?

And I understand completely where you’re coming from. The other forums I’ve seen where users trade and sell items don’t have the same rules regarding to courtesy, etc. as Pherotalk and I’m not suggesting that those rules be done away with. They are there for a reason. But I do think that you should be able to at least mention “hey, I sent this guy money and he didn’t send the whatever”. Negative feedback should be allowed in the appropriate areas. I think something like this thread is a good place for that. Then if it gets out of hand with arguing or is brought up in other threads you can step in with warnings, moderations, post deletions, bannings, whatever. If you have a problem, you can raise that concern in a post. That person can then resolve it publicly or privately, claim that they in fact did send it, or ignore it. It is left at that and the community can draw their own conclusions on an individual basis when deciding who to buy from.

People can see that there has been some dispute against this seller in the past and weigh that against any positive feedback they’ve had, the reputation of the person raising the dispute, etc. and decide whether they’d like to do business with them. It also helps keep people honest. Like the thing with the neg repper, it was said that it was a well-known member of the community. Their anonymity allowed them to avoid being ostracized. In my opinion, they probably would have never done it if that weren’t the case. But whereas the abuse of that system just led to losing some meaningless points, this actually involves money and physical product.

If you remember recently a reputable trader claimed he did not receive product in a trade but had given it a very fair amount of time to be resolved and still did not want to say a name. The honest traders don’t want to call people out. I don’t. But you better believe I will regardless of consequences if the situation arises where it’s necessary. I’m not going to bring it up in every thread or talk about their mother but I will say that I did not receive what I was supposed to and I was not happy with the transaction. I don’t want to ruin it for everybody though which is why I mentioned that I was considering putting an end to my trading.

On a side note, I think users should be able to request that they remain anonymous when it comes to positive feedback. That’s fine. But the trading is done at your own risk and that includes the risk of negative feedback from your peers, whether true or false, in my opinion.

I think its wonderful that we can have this Selling and Trading aspect of the forum. Its difficult if not impossible to get rid of pheromones we dont want because normally the only people we know that would be open to buying these “used” products from us are other people within cyberspace that reside on Pherotalk to whatever degree.

I’m a huge ebay shopper and honestly if there were no contingencies at all to protect both parties then ebay would be a failure in what it does. I understand where Steve is coming from in the respect that its definitely more of a privilege to be able to trade and sell freely as it doesn’t benefit AD in any respect.

The problem really only lies within Trade agreements since there is no way of making sure that both parties receive what they intended to trade. I have an idea of using a mediator where a middle person would receive the products from both sides then sent along accordingly when both sides have been met. It would grant some assurance even though it would cost a little more and be a little more complicated. OR the person with less credibility or new to the trade thread could send his/ her goods to the middle person. Once the mediator receives those goods he/she can give the go ahead for the more reputable person to send their goods to that individual while the mediator passes along what he/she received to the actual trader. Just ideas considering some are worried about the secureness of trading overall.

As for the rating system I have an idea that could keep the “negative” repped person in terms of trading “under wraps” while keeping potential and veteran traders safe. I would only share the coding with people whom have traded/ sold with 3 or more people. It would keep people aware of the potentially shady traders and it would promote a sort of “neighborhood watch” among us Pherotalk sellers/traders so that strife is kept to a minimum and the benefits are maintained to a maximum. I dont wanna make it more complicated than the 2 main aspects. 1. Receiving the item('s) in question. 2 Satisfaction based upon condition and description of item.

Not that I need to go into it but about my mishap a while ago. As far as I’m concerned he no longer comes here and if he does he only lurks and seeing as how I’m on here A LOT I haven’t spotted his name in ages. He wasn’t THAT frequent of a poster. By now I think he probably changed his name on pherotalk or just signs on the forum anonymously. I hope he enjoys the stuff as I’ll let karma deal with him either way. Karma reimbursed me in a sense so I try to consider it even for the most part.

Think about what I have suggested and let me know what you think

I created an auction site on my pheromone blog so that members could trade. I wanted to set it up so it would only cost like a $0.25 per auction and this way you could sell anything. I like to test pheromones on that blog, although I haven’t updated it in a while, so there lies the issue. I have affiliate links to a site that I’m sure AD wouldn’t appreciate. I love what I do, but hey a guy needs to make money for life too .

It has everything that ebay does, including rating systems.

If you guys are interested I can make it so its not a part of the blog and is just a straight out auction site. I would need to charge a very small fee though. It costs money to operate a website so I need to recoup somehow. It’s like $10 a year for the name and another $50 a year for hosting.

We could make it fair and anything collected over say $75 a year for all operating costs goes into a fund for charity. Maybe even start our own community charity. We could make suggestions where the money goes as a community. If someone has an emergency or something we could use the extra as a donation. Something like that. Anyway your feedback and suggestions are, as always, appreciated.

EDIT:
Now that I’m thinking about it, you could pretty much sell anything you wanted on it. Maybe linking wouldn’t be good, as per Androtics, but how else could we draw the traffic to it?

How about putting a keyword on the auction site that is associated with androtics but really isnt. What I’m saying is doing it backwards

Scitordna

With you running it I think it would work great. Having a system akin to ebay would be lovely too. Helping out the community is great so the donation part will certainly be appreciated.

I suppose all the rough areas have to be steam rolled properly so that we dont step on any toes but other than that the Linkage shouldnt be a problem with permission and what not and honestly people on the forum especially people who deal a lot like who6 and boogieman among others would find the service very useful.
