Virtual Reality Scent Tricks Taste Buds : Discovery News

Its amazing just how far we have come along. I wonder whats next and at the same time what kind of application these things will actually have.

I did it once and smelled some really strong bergamot even though there was none nearby.

Excerpt from one of my replies to a post:

Japanese corps have long since played with their employees both in Japan and in their corporate parks and facilities in the rest of the world. :open_mouth:
In the enclosed little hives off offices and ‘clean’ factories, use(d) various scents pumped through the air conditioning to stimulate the appropriate responses they wanted. :frowning:
Eg certain scents to promote concentration, appropriate scents to break the concentration and start appetite stimulation at lunch, back to work ‘let’s get busy’ scent for the end of lunch and so on and so forth. I remember the ruckus Aussies kicked up when that information was leaked to their workers for one corporation . This isn’t new. Psychologists and other mind therapists have known for decades that smell is the most profound memory trigger. All of them know, we’re just using the power for goodness not badness. :stuck_out_tongue:
