I was out at a bar a couple of nights ago to chill and have a drink with my buddy and his ex. To make a long story short, there was drama with his ex at work, and so she went to the bar to talk to the bar tender about it, who happens to be one of her coworkers at this place where the drama ensued.
Right when I got there I ordered a beer and enjoyed it as I listened in on the drama. The bartender was a cool guy, but he was getting really heated about the shit that happened.
So after I finish my first beer, without me saying anything, the bartender swoops in, grabs my glass, and refills it to the top, puts it down, then smiles at me. It’s funny, because there wasn’t a moment longer than 30 seconds where my empty glass was sitting on the table before he grabbed it to refill it.
I drink it, hoping that he wasn’t going to charge me. Then, after I finish the second drink of the night, I’m feeling kinda buzzed and I don’t really want anymore because I had to drive later.
Anyway, he comes around AGAIN and takes my drink, and I’m like, nooo thanks I’ve had enough for now. He looks at me and smiles again and then refills the drink about 2/3 way then puts it back down in front of me.
The whole time, he’s being super cool and friendly, going out of his way to make sure Im having a good time and enjoying my drinks.
After we get the tab, I realized that he hasn’t charged me shit. Literally, he just gave me 3 beers (probably $4 each) for free.
I thought that this was partly due to being friends with my buddys ex, who works with the bartender, but I was surprised he didn’t charge me anything.
I’m thinking this mix had a little to do with it, because I got treatment like I was very important and it was his duty to make sure I was happy.
Also, I barely said anything to him the whole night other than some slight bantering and joking about the free drinks.
I’m calling it a solid hit.
