When a women calls a man cute… wtf is this about? i get this alot… and to be fair it drives me nuts cause the way i see it is this:
puppys,babys,kittens are cute but not humans. so why do women use this god awful word? its like getting 2nd prize well done you didnt lose but hell you didnt win… please could someone explain? many thanks (-Danny-)
It means they liked the playful way you acted.
Or it means they like the way you dressed, but are not turned on by it. However in some cases this may still mean they like the way you look for purposes of dating, in other cases not for purposes of dating, it depends on the person.
It means she is interested in you. She thinks she might like you, and she wants to know how you might feel about her. But, if you say she said any of that, she’ll say she only meant you were cute.
And shes most likely telling the truth when she says that.
I cant speak for other women because we all may have a slightly different meaning to the word.
Cute is not a insult it depends on the how you use it.
If you ask a girl “Do you think I am good looking?” and she says your cute she is telling you that she thinks your good looking but she is not interested sexually.
Now if girls are chatting together and you walk in and they say “oh look he is cute” it means they are going to be keeping a eye on you to see if you have potential to cause sexual interest.
So if your friends told you “so and so over there says your cute” thats not a bad thing it means she would futher like to investigate this attraction to see if there is a chemistry between you that will cause sexual interest.

Tisha’s definition works for me … basically it means that on first glance I like how you look. Whether I might feel more than that at some point is an open question - nothing is ruled out at all by saying a guy’s cute. It’s similar to a guy saying “she’s hot” - it’s like an immediate response you have based on appearance only. It’s a green light though, not a put-down.

many thanks for all the replys however its no good i just so dislike the word i go into a semi rage because of it. may it is confidence issuses i have but as i said before kittens,puppys & animuls in general are cute but not me… ive been called it most of my life esp by someone i dont really want to mension and everytime someone mensions this word i reminds me of her… and i cant shake it. what can i do to self inprove my image so cute is not longer the definin word that discribes me…

For me, when I call a guy cute it means he looks good but I haven’t considered sex with him. When I call him hot, it means I have.
Most women know how guys perceive the term “cute” as slightly belittling, so a woman using that term with you may be giving you a mild test. (The exception to this is if she says it in an overtly sexy way.) Just concentrate on being interesting.
And regardless, you are in charge of how you define and present yourself. Reject cute if you dislike it. Also, get yourself some 314 to increase respect.
It may be a upsetting word to you but try to keep in mind that its just a word and the people who use it mean no harm by it so dont get mad.
Also keep this in mind, all girls are not open sexually. So they may be to shy or embarrassed to say your Hot. Prehaps cute is the only word they feel comfortable with until they get to know you better.
If you feel they are doing it to test you or to belittle you in some way try to have a little fun with it. Next time a girl tells you your cute smile at her and say “thank you, your not ugly” It will throw them right off and give you the upper hand. Why you may ask ? Because you didnt really say what they are, you just said what they are not. Suddenly your not cute your
intriguing a challange. It works try it.

I totally agree with Tisha’s posts for you Dark. You may want to try something like Instant Jerk to see if that pushes you to the other side. Could be a fun lil experiment, but then again maybe your nerves being on edge from not smoking could help you to, go out and see if you notice a different.
Also, if a guy puts me on the spot and asks me what I think of him and I am not attracted to I may use the word “cute”…sry 
Hmm … not me, I wouldn’t say a guy was cute in that situation. In fact I don’t usually tell a guy he’s cute unless I’m already involved with him on some level … don’t want it to go to their heads, you know!
I wouldn’t get too hung up on a word like this because obviously it means different things to different people. Just keep going after what you want!

Again nice guys have potential and need further exploring. If someone knows you well and says your nice it means just that. Your nice.

I get “Sweet” a lot. As in you’re so sweet, or you’re such a sweet guy. I just look them straight in the eye and tell them that’s only because they don’t know me. Or, That’s not what any of my ex’s would say.

Since you get it so much (the word) use it to your advantage, find a rebuttal that will 1) help you overcome the word 2) make the ladies know that you are no puppy (or kitty), that you are the man, and that you mean business in a flirty playful way.
I am sure you already know chiks dig humor…
