My name is Blargerz, I am from Chicago, and I’m a 25 yo male. I got interested in pheromones through a forum I frequent, Recent Articles | Mind and Muscle. This bodybuilding/health forum is extremely scientifically oriented, with lots of smart people, and some of the guys I respect there gave some positive reviews on pheromones. This was enough to get me researching the topic, and I soon saw that Pherotalk is the #1 forum on the subject.
I am fascinated by all aspects of human biology, especially those that affect our social interactions and psychology… yet for some reason, I’ve never really thought about how the sense of smell integrates with all this. The sense of sight is obvious; we all know that we should look good in order to get respect and attention. The next level of obviousness is the sense of sound… a man should have a deep voice, that isn’t rushed or nervous, and sounds confident and to the point. And taste and touch, well, use your imagination
. But smell, other than your mother’s voice in your head telling you to “take a shower you stink”, hasn’t been given a lot of detailed attention in the average guy’s thought process. Sure, there are those Axe ads, but as a 25 year old, those are not really in my target demographic, and besides, I am too sophisticated for such blatant advertising
.
But it makes perfect sense, that your odor reflects your underlying nutritional, hormonal, and stress states. Basically, your smell is as much you as your footprint or fingerprint. The question is, how do you smell like someone who is younger, healthier, and flat out manlier than you will ever be? Unless you are a movie star who has all the resources in the world to dedicate to exercise, diet, and maybe even a regimen of anabolic steroids (anecdotally, DHT gives off a potently attractive scent to the opposite sex), its not likely that your natural smell is that special. Because you probably eat the same stuff every other guy eats, wear the same deodorants, exercise about as much, etc. etc. Even though you are an individual, your day-to-day scent is probably not that different than every other guy your age. Identical inputs lead to predictably similar outputs.
So if you really want to set yourself apart, you have to go the extra mile. Pheromones seem to be the most obvious way to do that. The beauty of them, compared to other things you could do to garner whatever type of attentions you prefer, is that they work subconsciously. For example, you might start wearing stylish clothes, putting a lot of effort into your hair, but people will always know you are “trying harder”. While there is nothing wrong with trying hard, its never mysterious. But pheromones ARE mysterious. They don’t know WHY they like you more, because your appearance is the same, which makes them even MORE interested in you. Its almost like having some sort of magical powers, changing pheromones from circumstance to circumstance as you see fit, you are operating on an entirely different plane than most people. This is the allure of pheromones. This is why I look forward to playing with them and learning their subtleties.
So, I would like to ask the community for their recommendations. My primary goal is to seem more approachable, and make people more at ease around me, especially in a work setting. I work in a retail environment and would like to make more sales. People generally seem to trust me, because I am fully competent at what I do, but have never been keen on small talk, esp. with women. Mainly because I don’t really care about the crap they talk about, and how conversations never seem to end once started. To avoid these situations, I think I really put on my alpha hat when talking with women, to give the impression that I have better things to do than hear every silly detail about their lives. This generally works, but at the same time, I am not sure if I am giving a good impression, or are they thinking, that guy is a weirdo or super-serious asshole. Because basically, unless the woman/young lady is super hot or uncommonly smart or funny, I really just want them to get in and out of the store as quickly as possible, and as perceptive as women are, they probably pick up on it.
So basically, a pheromone that would either make me more patient, or maybe make the women customers less inhibited/more entertaining, would make the interactions more fun for both me and them…
I thank you for your advice, and look forward to being a part of this community!
