I know they are processed in labs, but how are pheromones obtained? Are they extracted from people? If so then how? It must be a BIG source to make so MANY products, It’s hard to believe they come from extracting them from people, and animals wont work, because their pheromones don’t work on humans. So where do ALL these pheromones come from?
Well they go down to the mall on hot sweaty days and hand out paper cups and ask people to sweat into them…

Its a good question. I am not a biochemist but I will try clarify it for you.
Synthetic means produced by synthesis Artificial, made by man.
First lets look at your natural pheromones so you get a clear picture of whats happening.
Where do your natural pheromones come from ?
Bodily fluids like sweat urine saliva semen and vaginal fluids.
Those are derived from our diets of course and hormones.
Human Hormones are derived from the cells in the human body .
Other organisms like plants can produce bio identical hormones. These are still considered natural as they have the exact same molecular structure as a human hormone. They take these hormones and synthesis them to match the exact same molecular structure as a human pheromone.
So for instance ovarian hormones are derived from women of course or you can find them in wild yams and soy the lab purifies it, then converts these plant compounds into chemical molecules identical to those made in the human body for 17-beta estradiol, progesterone, or testosterone into a crystal or powder form, From that they can break down the molecules even more and then combine them in such a way as to make a bio-identical pheromone of sorts.
Its not the exact scientific explanation of every pheromone but you get the picture

Wow, thanks for clearing that up. So are you saying that synthetic pheromones are equally effective than natural pheromones, and if one was used over the other they would have the exact same effect?
Yes they are basically molecularly the same. The only difference in effect is caused by the amount your using verses the amount you naturally make.
Your natural pheromones kinda whisper signals. You have a certain amount of control over synthetic mones though. You can wear just a little bit for a whisper or more to sort of shout the signal out loud but the message is the same.
