"Who's the daddy?" "He is!"

The A314 has been working its magic again when I dropped in to say hi to my little niece, Louise. The family had their friends round with their own kids, aged 2 and 4.

2 drops of A314, streaked behind the ears. I wasn’t suited and booted this time, being in full slob-out mode wearing Levis that have seen better days, and a faded T-shirt.

I was holding Louise, who was being the perfect baby, slumbering peacefully.

The two little horrors though, were doing a good impression of the Tasmanian Devil cartoon character until they saw Louise sleeping peacefully. They became eerily quiet then, jamming their thumbs in their mouths and never taking their eyes off me, not even when their mother ruffled their hair and asked them, “Who’s the mummy?”

Two pairs of eyes and two little fingers point at Zoe, then the fingers drop and the eyes are straight back to me. Shy grins.

“Who’s the daddy?”

A chorus of, “He is!” from both of them. Fingers point, rigid as steel. Eyes wide and locked onto mine. “He’s the daddy!”

I caught a sideways look from Zoe that vanished before I could decipher it. “We’ve been rumbled!” she joked, to laughter from the women in the room.

“I deny everything,” I deadpanned. “Honest.” This last comment directed at Dave, who was looking at me a bit weird. He believed me of course, having known each other for a lifetime.

Have to be careful with this A314. It has the power to screw up a paternity test! :open_mouth::roll_eyes: LOL!

Musk

that’s hilarious man.

Thanks for the laugh
