All you need is LOVE

I wanna go out and do this. Just to break out of my shell. I haven’t been approaching that many strangers recently. Suggested mix please? I’m thinking A314+Instant Gentleman..

In Orlando you’ld probably wind up with a sharpened screwdriver in you for trying that :frowning: “kino” is one way to connect with people, anybody really (not just women), but if you do it wrong, to the wrong person, it is hostile or at least condescending (imagine the typical big, expansive back slap/pat from the big bully, for instance). Some cultures, like Hispanics, South Asians, or Southern Europeans, Arabs/Middle Easterners/some Jews, are much more open to it, too.

Instant Openness, Instant Honesty and maybe Instant Shine? A314 or Instant Gentleman won’t produce the kind of instant warmth/inoffensiveness you’ld need to walk up and umm, hug, strangers. Oh yeah, and for your own safety, ask the people first if it’s OK to touch/hug them.

I could see a big, jolly fat or pudgey guy getting away with that much easier than some skinny guy, too.

I still think it’s way over the top and not realistic, though…

I go to Texas A&M University, the friendliest campus college on earth

Love the vid, ({{{Saifz}}})! Use one spray Instant Gentleman, two sprays of Instant Shine and a spray or two of Instant Honesty. Let us know how it goes.

Oh yeah, as far as WASPS go, Texans and Okies are big into touching/“kino” type stuff. Plus in some parts of the country you’ve got alot of religious groups where it is part of the worship service, so it’s not so wierd. In the ancient period in Europe/Middle East a hug was a sign of alot of trust with somebody- an open palm was basicly a friendly “wave” or “handshake” (you see this in alot of religious icons, basicly it’s a kind of “peace symbol” showing you were unarmed), but a hug meant some kind of connection or affinity.

On the east coast or other parts (more cosmopolitan)? Not so much “kino” for WASPS.

I think hugs are great, as long as they aren’t condescending and the other person doesn’t mind. I don’t mind, as long as you don’t smell too bad and I know you well. But then I’m a WASP and I actually find my attitudes more open than most- my brother hates being hugged, so does my dad.

A mix of Instant Openness and Instant Honesty sounds like a good mix for getting people to be a bit more friendly, and Instant Shine should help with your attitude and make you a bit more approachable.

It still is a sign of trust and friendship.

Well that depends on the person. I sure as hell ain’t no WASP…WOP…is more like it. Where I come from this is the “embrace” ya gotta watch out for…

I smell fine…I swear…you won’t even smell the cops…all you’ll smell is sugared honeysuckle. Comere ya big lug, Bella will giva ya a hug that’ll squeeze that belly button lint right outta ya!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm… well, overall, some pretty good hits, but it started slow. I’d suggest a haircut, and maybe tone those mutton chops down to less aggressive, Jason Priestly sideburns. The glasses kinda scream “Child molestor!”, so trade them in for some featherlights, or even consider contacts. Those will make you more approachable and less threatening to those strangers that brushed you off at first.

So what were you wearing? Oh, wait…

LOL..that’s not me silly :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m gonna do this

this is me… and its going down in a few minutes probably

skidoooosh

So yeah, like I said, a haircut and change of glasses and… Okay, I kid, I kid! LOL!

Man, I bet the girls love playing with those curls of yours. Heh.

I’ve got a goatee and moustache now days. Honestly I’m thinking of shaving them off… but people I know tell me to not do that. What do you think?

Oh, now days my haircut is alot shorter. Sort of “George Clooney” when he had short hair, I cut it myself as my mom can’t really cut it (she’s a beautician, but not practicing). I need to find a hair stylist I can go to that can cut my hair that way, my barber won’t ever cut it that short. It works great with a helmet. I’ve actually considered going around with Q-ball, but that would probably make me even look more wierd.

Those are featherweights, and ultra thin lenses too, sort of unisex. I like that style (actually, those are my old ones, my new ones are a little narrower- my old ones just got metal fatigue and snapped, they were 7 years old). They aren’t as big as what I wore 10 years ago. I pretty much have to wear glasses as I like having prisms in my lenses (they help), and I don’t believe you can do that with contacts. I wore contacts years ago, but they won’t work for me now days I’m afraid.

I appreciate your honesty, though…

WOP? I love Italian stuff (parlo un po’ della italiana), but most of the Italian women I have known have been, um, a little unhinged, to put it politely. I’ll have to keep my eye on you

Funny you should mention TAMU, I live about 10 miles from there .

Food, art, clothes, shoes? Huh. The best “stuff” is the women!

It’s always good to be polite…lol  See…you’ve been hangin’ out with the wrong girls, D, that’s why ya gotta use both eyes. :open_mouth:

I really would rather see this statement…

One of my aunts (my grandfather’s brother’s wife)… is Italian, has a son that got involved in the Mafia, and was unhinged in her younger years (not to mention she was a tuberculosis survivor), or even when she got older. She tried to dye her kids hair black (they were adopted). It is a long story. I actually like her, she was a nice person… the rest of the family just thinks she’s nuts. I always thought some of the stuff said about her was a bit over-the-top, just because she wasn’t a WASP from Oklahoma like them, just an Italian coal-miner’s daughter from Pennsylvania. Just like for many years, only my uncle would acknowledge we had any Injun blood in us at all (it turns out I’m at least 6 percent Indian, I could be more- the dark secret is alot of folks in that part of the country don’t like talking about it).

The other young woman I was attracted to several years ago (that turned out to be, um, insane)… she was half-Italian, and her mother was schizotyphrenic (and full Italian). The father must have had the patience of a saint, or he was whipped really good… I could never tell.

OTOH my favorite Latin teacher in highschool was Italian, and she wasn’t crazy (she was very nice and funny, even though she had survived a pretty bad bout with breast cancer), so I guess there are at least a few Italian women I know that aren’t insane. And I guess you are OK too, Bella. So that makes it 50/50. Italian women are only half insane- I gotta be sure not to get on your crazy side, 'cause when Italians don’t like you, they get nasty  It’s like a bunch of harpies comming after you to tear your flesh off :open_mouth: We WASPS are so uptight, we just tend to ignore people we don’t like, or give them cold looks…

Ah… bella italia… mi amore. My grandfather, before passing away, was doing a little research on our family name. It’s so unique that anyone else with it is most definitely famiglia. He lived in Orlando at the time, and found a gentleman living in Miami that had his exact same name-- first, middle, and last. He contacted him and they met several times over the last few years of my grandfather’s life. My grandmother didn’t know much about the man, only that he was an attorney in Miami, and was related through a common Aunt. When my grandfather passed away, 3 men showed up for the funeral that no one knew. At the pre-service final viewing of the body, they were seen paying their respects, making the sign of the cross, and leaving. Several weeks later, my Grandmother was going through my grandfather’s genealogy stuff and found some notes about the mysterious Miami lawyer who shared his name. Turns out he was the consigliere for a substantial family down there.

It’s funny, my grandfather always used to joke that our family had ties to the original “five families” of New York. We always used to laugh it off as an old man being silly. It’s not so silly afterall.

Last year, while walking around a college campus, I saw a bunch of college kids holding “FREE HUGS” signs. They were getting good feedback too. Some of the girls were quite attractive.

Of course, I’d be the type who’d give 'em a hug while wearing Turn Up the Heat!

R u calling data silly?
Are you a silly fela data???
