Thank you!
I’m really pleased to be here, and the out of the gate advice is fantastic!
I’ve started my collection, all to gos, to see what I like. Instant Shine, Openness, Honesty, Sexiness B, and I’m not sure why I did it, but Turn Up the Heat. I am very keen to do a bit of reporting, and eventually would like to play with the experimental stuff as well.
And it occurs, perhaps a bit more about me might help with tailoring…
I am initially perceived as aloof, with no real desire for purely social interaction (I am actually just terribly shy, unless it comes to business matters that I am very competent in). Once a person gets past the initial impression, usually 6 months to a year unless they make an incredible effort, I am quite friendly, open and caring, and a little bit amazing, if I do say so myself.
I have recently, with the value of recent being five years ago, moved to a new country. The network of friends and family that I would normally rely on for interaction is unfortunately only reachable by phone…and honestly, most not even that. I am married, but my husband and I don’t really talk much, as we have little in common, and tend to bore the pants off each other. His social circle has adopted me, but it is nowhere near the level of acceptance I left behind.
I have made one real friend in the time I have been in this new country, a point which was driven home by a recent return to my origin, where I was nearly overwhelmed by adoration. A place where I was worshipped by people who knew me for decades. Does this sound egotistical? Maybe a little. It still makes me uncomfortable to realize it.
Basically, I’m lonely. It has been so long since I’ve had to step out of my comfort zone to meet people, that I’ve forgotten how.
I live in a near tropical environment, so tend to show more skin than I am necessarily comfortable with (and I think that shows). I am from a much colder climate, so spent my whole life in jeans and sweaters, even in the summer. I have a decent body. Not super hot, but I’m happy, and that is saying a lot!
I second guess myself when it comes to interpreting people’s interactions with me, but when I’m observing between other parties, I’m pretty damn good at picking it.
Um. I’m so tempted to delete all this, and say ‘screw it, I can work it out on my own’, so I don’t actually put myself out there at all. But ya know what? Screw it. Who is gonna judge me, really?
