Creed Green Irish Tweed Usage (yes I bought it...*smiles with pride and joy..WOOT!!!)

Just because I have 10 CGIT, I am giving Xev one because she is genuinely interested, and isn’t asking one for free. I hope I don’t get people massive messaging me for free CGIT. Thanks everyone.

I checked the site looks like they don’t ship to Canada? Any other good sites around?

Try these links for CGIT:
www.parfum1.com
www.fragrancenet.com
www.scentiments.com
www.theperfumedcourt.com (for decants)
www.scentedmonkey.com
www.fragrancex.com

Hope that helps man. Good luck in your search.

Tried the first one on your list that one doesn’t seem to seem to Canada.

That is really nice of you! I sent you a pm.

Has anyone ever purchased anything from theperfumecourt?

Yup, i’ve purchased from them several times. They’re MUCH more expensive when you’re looking at things like 10-20mL decants, but for those 1mL samplers they’re a pretty good place to go and have a wide variety to sample. Especially good place to grab a little of those expensive niche colognes that you can’t find nearby (unless you live in a large city), before you commit that $180 to a full bottle. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ive been wanting to check out that scent. awesome.

Well, I got mine. Based on all the criteria I’ve read (needing to prime the pump, no insert with Arabic writing), this is not only the real deal, but it’s fresh. The smell is nice, crisp, and strong enough to assure me it hasn’t been sitting somewhere for too long after manufacture. Though it took over a week to ship, I’m VERY pleased with the purchase.

Now, since the last bona fide GIT I smelled was off a sample card, and recent GIT-likeness has come from a knock-off scent oil, let me just say that NOTHING beats the real McCoy. To Common Scents’ credit, they were able to capture the SMELL about 85% as a single note, but in no way did it capture the total essence of the end result of mixing top quality ingredients that Creed offers. Even though I paid about 40% of Neiman Marcus/Saks retail, I’m going to treat this as if I spent the full $250 and NOT mix it. I’ll cover pheros with it, but as far as doing mad scientist concoctions with GIT as a base, forget it. It deserves to stay seperate.

Okay, that’s going to be as pretentious as I get. LOL! I’ve never been a connoisseur of fragrances. I just know what I like when I smell it.

Now you know why I can never go to knock offs LOL

Once you been spoiled to the real authentic, you can smell the difference and GIT just needs to be smelled the way it meant to be IMO.

It goes through different phases through out the day until it gets to that wonderful drydown which is heavenly

I can get an easily 10 hours or more of GIT and then get whiffs of even longer

Yeah, definitely! I’ve been sniffing my collar all day. I got a compliment on it at work, and when asked, I told the individual what it was. She’d never heard of it and asked what was in it. I told her “Whale puke.” Her reaction was priceless! I then went on to explain what ambergris was, but I’ll never forget that initial look of disgust.

BTW, am I pronouncing it right? I’m assuming the s at the end is silent and it’s pronounced “amber-gree”.

-D4

LOL to be honest I have no idea how to pronounce it…I am the worst one to know half the names of these perfumes are so hard to pronounce…I always pronounces the S but i could be wrong

I just know how it smells…that is what I am good at

I believe you are right, data4. That is what I have heard from others, when they say the word ambergris (amber-gree). I don’t pronounce the “s” when I say it.

Nope! I can see why you’d think that, but the proper pronunciation of the word is “am-ber-grees” , phonetically. It’s a long ‘e’ sound, not an ‘i’ sound.

Ah, thanks. One of the biggest problems with learning and communicating via text on the internet is that you don’t pay much mind to how things are pronounced until you have to relay it in voice. My first voice chat with people I’d known online for awhile was pretty awkward with some of the funky monikers they go by.

What is the Diffence?

What’s the diffence? number 2 and 3

  1. 4.0 oz Eau de Toilette Spray for Men
  2. 8.4 oz Flacon for Men
  3. 4.0 oz Millesime Spray for Men

There is no difference except how many ounces you are getting…the 8.4 oz flacon you are getting a lot more for your money except it does not come with a spray top so you have to have your own atomizer to pour the liquid in

Number 1 and number 3 have the same amount. What does Millsime mean?

“Millésime” is a French term that denotes a product of extra fine quality and Creed’s “Millésime” fragrances contain the highest percentage of natural essences to be found in the French perfume industry.

Just a thought here with buying creed from online retailers which in most cases the product is heavily discounted for a reason. On the back of the bottle at the bottom is a serial number which is nearly invisible and the last two digits denotes the year it was made.

A lot but not all of colognes/perfumes are old stock which has been bought by these online retailers cheap. Which is why they are able to sell very expensive products heavily discounted.

In most cases the products are fine and still smell great though they may not be as fresh as a daisy so to speak. With the creed range the millesime’s are so concentrated you would have to be a expert or have a fresh recently made product to compare it with to know the difference.
