Data4's Journal

I went up to Fox’s tonight to drop off the application and talk to the manager. The one I spoke with on the phone wasn’t available, but another one I see there regularly was. In fact, he’d walked through the VIP while Stephany and I were in there to make sure we were behaving. It was days after the raid, so…

Anyway, I spoke with him briefly, but it went well. He told me that when they need someone, they’ll bring in three people out of their pool of apps, interview them together, and pick the one they like. PERFECT opportunity to use the phero advantage, if I ever get that far.

He did tell me to call to check back on the situation, and I’ll most definitely do that. Tip for some of you kids just getting into the working world: Whether it’s an application, submitted resume, or just an informal chat with a manager, ALWAYS FOLLOW UP IF YOU WANT THE JOB. Doesn’t matter what the job is, be it a Boeing Machinist, a McDonald’s burger flipper, or a bouncer at a strip club. It’s the simplest way to give you the edge over the average schmucks out there. Anyway, I digress.

I hung out for about an hour afterward and talked with Brent, the head bouncer. He and I are on pretty good terms, as every time I go there, I’m always shooting the shit with him about any and everything imaginable when I go out to smoke.

So, in supplication to SteveO’s god of All Things Pink and Squishy, here’s hoping one of their guys quits in the next couple of days. Say… on that note, anyone wanna try a collective consciousness experiment?

LOL, nothin’ but bad vibes for 'em coming from me. Good Luck!

Maybe it would be more effective to send good vibes regarding leaving their job? Maybe they realize that working at a supermarket is much more rewarding? Didn’t they say positive thoughts are 100 times stronger than negative thoughts? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm…

“You’ll get more money and a lot less embarrassment if you go to work for Wal-Mart.”

Neither of which is true, but when you consider a job at Wal-Mart is one you can tell your grandma about without worry… Hmm…

Tisha, fire up the cauldron! There’s work to do! cackle

Part of me is going “OK Phya’s got a good point. One of a great many I’ve seen him make. I’ll try to vibe out something nice and positive, a sudden burst of creativity perhaps to birth something beautiful to whole world and bring riches to themselves so they can quit Fox’s and let Data get a cool job during the strike.” Another part of me, the nasty mean streak part, is saying “Screw that. A pox on their testicles!”

I’ll sleep on it and vibe tommorrow.

Hmmm, just wondering if we’re sending out vibes, be they positive or negative, why aint we directing that energy towards the Boing Union negotiators and trying to end the strike with a huge pay raise for Jon?

Wait, and a strip club built on site negotiated into the deal, with free alcohol and lap dances, and…

Mark, you’ve got a point. Heh… I’m not too worried, though. Boeing’s in a pretty precarious position right now. Every weekday we don’t work, they’re losing an estimated $100 million. This, of course, blows all our our minds, since 1 day would pay for everything we were looking for in the new contract, with significant change left over. I have a feeling that after the 2 week mandatory cooling off period, which is a Labor Law requirement after a strike is declared, Boeing’s gonna be like “Okay, guys. What do you want? We’ll give it to you.” And to be perfectly honest, we don’t want THAT much. Certainly not executive level pay and private jets.

However, if they can put Tully’s Coffee stands in all the plants, why not a few pole dancers? It’s the least they could do.

-D4

i’m pulling for you, but i think pole dancers would be hard to explain on a balance sheet.

its all in the way you describe it in writing. I am sure Boeing has paid for equally dubious endeavors on executive expense accounts coming out of Washington …

I just noticed that somebody’s journal had fallen almost to page three. BUMP! Dude you OK?

Hi Jon

Thought it was about time I poked my nose in here…and now that I have…where are you? :frowning:

Jeezz, I hope you’re OK and things at work are not killing you or your beautiful spirit. You didn’t get your a** fired…did you? :open_mouth: A pox on them!

Maybe he got that job as a bouncer after all …

Or the strike ended and he’s watching the pole dancers at the Tully’s stand in the plant.

I 6th it, mmmmmm…what’s up doc?

Hey guys. I’m doing fine and haven’t really done anything worth mentioning. I’m still on strike, and the bouncer job was a no-go. The good thing is I’ve got money to cover the bills. The bad thing is I’ve only got money to cover the bills, so my phero collection is resting comfortably in a drawer until I can get out and use them again.

Thanks for looking in on me, though. Oh, and Bella? Got some good news for ya. I’m sporting a full goatee. Unfortunately, my camera’s on the fritz, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.

-D4

Been there, data. Got to the point where I started wearing pheromones to the library and haircuts.

Somebody has to keep an eye on you.

I’m sorry you’re having a rough time of it, Jon, it sucks. If we lived in closer proximity you’d be here for dinner…I’d ply you with plenty of food, liquor and pheromones. And, of course, a nice single cousin or two…you do like brunettes, right? Wolfie even has a pole in his office…you’d feel right at home. Too bad you’re in Washington. :frowning:

Ooooo…my, my…you had to tell me that…and then you had to tell me your camera’s on the fritz. You’re a tease…nothing but a tease. No hot cousin for you! :stuck_out_tongue:

Of course I take your word for it. Torment me if you will, devil boy. I’m not goin’ anywhere…I’ll be here when you get your camera fixed. That is if you don’t shave it off when you go back to work! Please, at least, spare the patch! You’ll have to promise me you’ll keep it till you can take a pic. You know where to find me.

Bella

Don’t worry, I’m keeping it even when I go back to work. Thankfully, Boeing only requires clean-shaven faces for people who wear respirators to do their job. I happen to work with people who look like rejects from ZZ Top auditions.

And since you decided to bring your cousins into the discussion, might you indulge me a picture or two, on which I may pitifully sob for my transgressions?

-D4

Pretty aren’t they? Here…a hanky.

…

…

Oh my God. <faint>
