Overall, I like the concept of internet dating sites in theory because they suit a person in my situation.
Single dad with custody. I work all day and take care of a 5 year old all night. No real time to be social casually.
Dating sites allow me to ‘look’ for someone casually on my own time when I have free time. The women (though some may be desperate as posted earlier) are also looking for someone so they are ‘prequalified’ from that standpoint. I can look for people who fits the profile of the kind of woman I’m looking for and determine whether I fit the profile she’s looking for.
Will it work in practice? Only one way to find out.
I used to have my profile on Match, but I took it down cuz about the only guys I could get to date were ones who didn’t have a single brain cell in his head! Oh well. I’m still trying to get dates out of two more guys I met. I think I might like them better. But yeah, I didn’t think I liked Match very much. It seems more focused on weather you like someone else’s appearance rather than if you like their personality, which is what I usually go for anyway. I always found that if I liked a guy’s personality, I find them attractive.
I actually read an internet book about how to post the best profile on internet dating sites. Yes, a picture is essential. Most people will opt to search for profiles only if a photo is included. When you write about yourself, always try to advertise yourself, as in let everyone know that they will have fun with you. I really wish I can post this book, as it is really helpful, but I think I would get into trouble if I did.
