Do you think its possible to increase your height at age 40 by 1 inch or more?

I’m not talking about elevator shoes but by stretching the spine? Any comments? If you increase flexibility in your spinal column by stretching it over 6 months to 1 year can you get taller?

Part of the height increase will be better posture (standing more aligned).. other than this part will be increased length of the spinal discs.

I know when I lift heavy weights I get shorter. Also when I eat a low protein diet I get shorter.

Its pretty factual bones can’t grow anymore but maybe the discs in the spine can be stretched?

When you stretch a rubber band its gets longer… looser over time.. problem is it gets weaker.

Thus the catch 22.. If you gain height by stretching will you also be weak causing compression of the discs by bodyweights, your muscles, and the things you have carried during the day (gravity etc).
?

Any thoughts…

I know many of us wouldn’t mind gaining a full inch in height if we put in 15 min most days of the week.

I’d talk to a doctor about this one.

I heard that some guys did it back when there was a draft in order to get out military service.

Sounds dangerous.

There’s a tribe somewhere that the women stretch their necks.

Most of us have not reached our height potential whether we’re 18 or 90. You see 18 year olds not growing tall because maybe poor diet, exercise etc or maybe 90 years olds not standing as tall as they could be because they have osteoporisis or curvature of the spine, bowlegs or all kinds of problems.

Sure it may not be possible to GROW but you can be taller than if you do the wrong exercises or eat the wrong diet… your family genetics will determine majority of your height.. A japanese midget will never grow as tall as an nba player but then again he can grow to his full height potential.

Any comments?

I think pilates, posture training etc is very good to gain 1 inch in height. Sleeping 8 hrs a night, taking calcium, strengthening the muscles of the spine and stretching all combined.

You don’t need limb lengthening to do it where they break the legs unless you plan to grow many inches.

Genetics and diet influence the amount of growth hormone that gets produced. Additional growth hormone won’t increase your height when you are 40.

Getting an additional inch of height won’t solve your height complex. If you want it solved I would recommend to focus on inner work.
NLP would be one approach. Seeking help from mainstream psychology another.
