what would be the perfect male height?

Ladies, if it came down to it and you had to judge a guy solely on his height, what would be the perfect male height?

Choose the one BEST answer (i.e. only from the following heights) and explain why.

  1. 5’9" (my brother)
  2. 5’10"
  3. 5’11"
  4. 6’0"
  5. 6’1"
  6. 6’2"
  7. 6’3"
  8. 6’4"
  9. 6’5"
  10. 6’6" (me)

Thanks ladies

I’m no lady, but the average girl in my area seems to be attracted to the guy who is 6’3". 6’1" and 6’2" are more common though.

The theory behind this (as i’ve been told by female friends) is that person who you can see above the rest of the crowd is more attractive.

Lying down or standing up?

Thomas, I don’t know why you want to top out your poll at 6’6" … you’re only 18 and could get another 2 or 3 inches yet.

To answer your question, 6’0" to 6’1".

If he’s more than about 6 inches taller than she is, the parts don’t line up very well, no matter whether you’re vertical or (especially) horizontal. Wouldn’t want a man to develop a kyphosis from trying to kiss me, now would I?

5’ 5" - 6’ is heaven.

cant imagine height is the very first thing looked at though.

Perhaps it’s rumor, but I remember being told back when I was a kid that there was extensive research by the US military on height and leadership.

If I remember correctly, as height increased, so did the “hardwired” or evoked innate leadership response, with diminishing returns up to 6’3"; then heights above 6’3" reduced how much of this innate response occurred.

But the story above could be one of those artifacts without a basis in history.

And even if the 6’3" outcome was valid back in 1925, the average height of the population has been steadily increasing. Whether this is natural (genetic) selection or the result of improved diet (hah!) doesn’t change the possibility that the ideal leadership height has increased too.

But Rbt asks a good question, lying down or standing up? Because the perfect height for sex may not be the perfect height for dancing the two-step, etc.

thats what id assume. being 5’7 most girls are a good height that we line up well and if i ever need to appear taller, thats what 2in soles are for.

And for that matter why start it at 5’9? My step dad is 5’5 and made it pretty high up in the Marines; then there’s Mussolini; Napoleon; Hitler wasn’t especially tall either. But I guess from a military/leadership point of view it should be added both of the first two mentioned got photographers and/or artists to portray them as taller than they were using camera angels/artistic licence.

I don’t know about a guy’s height; I’d say as long as you’re not more than 4-5 inches shorter than the lady; so even for a tallish girl of 5’10 you’d only need to be 5’5-5’6. OMG have you guys seen those nightclubs they have for dwarfs? So cute. Proper clubs/sometimes at like hotels/conference rooms/hotels. But also lank praiseworthy. My friend who is 5’6 is dating a girl of about 4’8. My two most serious girlfriends have been 5’10 and about 5’7 - I’m 6’3. On a practical note, with the 5’10 one - it was very convenient; although from an attraction point of view; I have always liked “small girls” too. I don’t think you have to be a Nicole Kidman OR Kylie Minogue person though - BOTH can be awesome!

Noses, cheek bones and lips are my three physical traits of interest; height is more of a secondary thing to me!

On the subject of height: have any of you seen Nate Robinson? The guy who won the NBA All-Star break’s Slam Dunk competition in 2006? The guy is like 5’4-5’5 (listed as 5’7 but they lie about heights in that sport) and can do the most insane dunks. Pity he didn’t win it again this year! :frowning:

I’d have to say,
5’10"-6’1" for me,

that is not to say that I wouldn’t be attracted to someone who’s much taller or slightly shorter. Height is really not a priority, but if a girl is small (like, 5’0"-5’2", or under 5’), she’d probably be really aware of the height difference between her and you…

With that said, in all honesty, I’d probably be slightly uncomfortable dating someone shorter than 5’8".

I am 5’5",

5’8" with heels

My SO is 6’ 7 and I am 5’ 10 in my stocking-soles, so we have a perfect balance, as I ALWAYS wear heels that are at least 31/2" high, so even then, he is still taller than me..

I generally prefer a guy to be taller than me, but it’s not essential.

There are many shorter men and ladies whose personalities just make them light-up from the inside-out like a lightbulb, and their lack of height just does not come into the equation then. You just stop noticing that someone is short if that person is being warm, witty and genuine. THAT is what makes them shine and not what height they are.

I think height is yet another horses for courses issue. We all tend to have our own preferences, but if you let height - whether it be a lack thereof, or too much, stop you from potentially dating someone - you just might end up missing out on your perfect partner.

Ail

I would have to agree with Lor…I am only 5’1"…I have been with men who have ranged from 5’4" to 6’4"…I much prefer the shorter range…5’7" or less…

Well here I go agreeing with Ail again. Might be a pattern :open_mouth: .

I would have to wholeheartedly agree with this statement also…

I was going to ad my relationship with a girl of 5’1 - but thought it would be way to kinky for a family orientated forum! :o

Yes, i have read this before, but my numbers where not 6’3", they were 6’4".

The reason for this is that, in theory, a male that would be taller than this 6’3" number would have massive difficulties to find the proper nutrition to look like a strong male. These tall males are as thin as toothpicks, they are so tall and have such poor nutrition that their bone structure looks like crap, they are also deficient in rare nutrients. I would say that I’m the exception to that since i take massive care for my body and I own a highly mineralized body JAM PACKED with joy (yes, like love), minerals and nutrition. What i’m saying is that, those males taller than 6’3" or 6’4" if you take my number, have a harder time to find the proper nutrition since most people will only get one helping of meat for example, so these taller than 6’3" males look less alpha because they are less well fed.

I strongly believe that what makes a male an alpha is his ability to find food. Food is the basis of life, grades, love life, sexuality, friend ship, alphaness, power, strength, bragging rights, everything.

I prefer a man to be anywhere from six to ten inches taller than I am. If they are any taller, it feels awkward while trying to kiss, ad you also don’t line up very well in the horizontal position…

Haha RBT. You are bad… It isn’t the size that counts, but how you use it that matters.

I agree that height really doesn’t matter.

Although there is something exhilerating about a height where all you have to do is tip your head up ever so slightly and he dips down. This can be changed depending on shoes and location, though!

I met a very handsome man who is about 5’ 4"… unfortunately he is an unpredictable ass, and therefore unnattractive.

Truthfully it all depends on the person.

I think the whole theory behind height in guys goes back a long way to pre-civilization times. Chance are, higher guys have a better probability to survive (more reach to find food, for hunting, fighting advantange) and part of a women’s mind triggers certain pluses when they see a tall guy.

I’ve asked a few of my girlfriends and interestingly they all said it “gives them a sense of security”.

  1. 6’2"

It’s just like the perfect height for me. I’m 5’3" or 4". Like EoW is for stimulating Testosterone, that height contrast is for me. OOooooo. I feel the strong, protective MASCULINE contrast to my femininity.

Now, what about the OTHER area to measure? Do we dare? !!! I have only found that the Gay Men’s personals in the 1980s (I used to live in SF, so these were in all the periodicals before the days of the - gasp - internet, Was there such a time, grandma?) did they include THAT size and their SOUGHT AFTER size range. Sigh. If only that were considered polite for ladies to do, I would SO include it!

Yes, I’m terrible. But some of us already KNEW that!
