I’ve been using pheros for more than a year now and have wondered the same thing, too.
The Androtics stuff always worked better for me, even though they claimed lower purity than Stone. Androtics claims something like high 98s to mid 99%s, while Stone claims 99.9% as if they’re Ivory soap or something. I’ve also noticed that some stone made products that don’t seem to work the same from bottle to bottle.
It confused the heck out of me why a lower rated product outperformed a higher rated one, and since it’s my money on the line I dug deep to find out why. Turns out that while Love Scent is fine, the problem is Stone Labs themselves.
First, they use pheromones of an unknown origin (probably chinese stuff that costs just pennies a milligram) whereas you get very fine, expensive to make american made here. As anyone knows, there’s a huge difference between American and Chinese quality.
It’s kinda like food… Let’s say there’s two restaurants selling “steak” at $25 a plate. One serves you fancy steak that cost them $10 at their supplier, while another is selling you a piece of meat that costs $4 a lb (or salsbury steak that costs 70 cents a pound). All businesses are like this, including pheros. Some companies sell salsbury steak at a premium, while others sell you Angus or Kobe for nearly the same “retail” price. One makes less profit to keep you as a customer long term, while the other just doesn’t give a crap about you. Another sucker will come along. (think about restaurants in tourist areas)
This is like stereos and guitar amps, too. A rated 500watt stereo from China is completely different than rated 500watt stereo from america or europe. In fact, I have a 65watt american amp here that kicks the crap out of any chinese 500 watt. Some people lie with numbers.
That’s the thing that really pisses me off. Stone does the same kind of stuff Pherlure is known for, but nobody seems to call them out on it. Sure they give you real pheromones most of the time, which pherlure doesn’t appear, too, but they definitely use fraud to sell their products.
That 99.9% # I talked about above? It’s just made up.
Here’s what they use to get us to believe their products are pure:

Well, guess what? Those are just copied pages from the sigma-aldrich.com website, with a few numbers changed.
If you’ve taken taken enough college chemistry courses, you know how fake this COA is and how badly they botched the fake. They even get their standard and lot/sample result columns mixed up, which shows that they don’t know enough about what they’re doing to even do a good forgery.
You can even call Sigma-Aldrich and ask for the product manager of A8008 to have them look at Stone’s page to verify all this. I did. They laughed at just how stupid a scammer could be.
If you haven’t taken enough science courses to understand this stuff, Dr. Mercola has some articles and videos where he talks about COA fraud.

So they use some real stuff, but lower quality foreign chemicals and then they fake their numbers and do the fraud game like a cheap NY camera seller. Not very cool in my book. I wouldn’t give them any more money just based on that bs. No thank you.
I’ll buy real american made product from Androtics or Sigma Aldrich, and that’s it. Neither are “cheap”, but they’re about the same price as the scammers and at least you get what you pay for. What I’m not going to do is be a a sucker that’s going to spend $80 on Chinese made salsbury steak pheromones with a “certificate of analysis” forged to make it look like Angus or Kobe!
