Forum question

I was wondering something about this new forum,

I keep getting reps for “Thanked post” they are 1 point each, I was wondering where they were coming from, (other forums I use have a poster “Thanks” button for this function, I don’t see that here.)

I checked and reps still go up based on user’s rep power when manually applying reps, so I was wondering…

Okay - my best guess is - you get one point with a “Thanks” but still give/get rep points when give/get reputation.

You can see who thanked you the same way you can see who gave you rep point - at the bottom of your User Control Panel or the “Your Space” as they call it on the top right of the new layout.

yes, but see attached,
All it says is Thanked Post, I was wondering if this was automatic or there was a button I was overlooking…

I understand - if you change the site to the new “Pherotalk 2” version - down at the bottom left - the new version has a “Thanks” button in the bottom right of every post. People push that button when they want to thank someone for the post. IT is something you choose to do like giving reputation.

Thanks, I see it now…

Thanks for pointing that out. We’ll probably rework the rep system somewhat to make it fairer and more egalitarian. i.e., 1 Thank You = 1 Rep Point for anyone.

I don’t see why anybody should have “Thank You Tenure”. A thank you is a thank you from the bottom of your heart, because you felt somehow aided by someone else. Even when people thank me, I don’t feel I deserve more rep points than someone else. It seems like your rep points should more reflect just how many people have appreciated your contributions.
