Grey Flannel

According to Basenotes, Violet, Lemon and Orange are on the top and Oakmoss is in the middle with a Sandlewood finish.

I did find something good to say about this one: After about 4 hours it has a somewhat nice violet/honey/sandalwood/ like character.

That said, the overpowering public restroom sanitizer scent that you have to tolerate to get there is another story. On first spray I thought I smelled celery. If they were to add galbanum and wormwood it would probably be an improvement.

Definitely not for me. I’d recommend it to guys I don’t like.

I used to wear it often when in Dirty Jerz and cologne was a normal for most people. I liked the oakmoss note really well. However it added a sense of maturity to the wearer. The time I was wearing it I was in my 20’s so I had to be careful of the context. You don’t want to do that when attending a rave. CK1 is better for that.

Yeah overall a very nice scent though.

When I was in the army, a buddy of mine used this cologne. One day it bust in his PT bag. Needless to say, every morning he smelled strongly of Grey Flannel. While I liked the smell, I don’t think I could wear this. It’s like getting sick on one kind of alcohol, and not wanting to smell or taste it again.

It’s like an upscale version of the original Old Spice. It’s what I buy my Dad.

Grey Flannel could go well with A314 or IG if you are dealing with older women. I have a bottle of it just in case. But most times I wear it, I get comments like it reminds women of what their fathers wear. If you’re just playing the field with a bunch of FWB and ONS encounters, this obviously isn’t the best cologne. Way too serious for that. I could see it being used at formal functions where you aren’t going to be working the floor. In a nutshell, I’d call it a very non-sexual fragrance. The type of thing a wife buys her husband (along with bland charcoal and houndstooth suits) to make him simultaneously appear as dignified and too predictable and boring to be of interest to women on the prowl.

I think Gray Flannel is in the new US health care bill really a very well made fragrance.
