Men's Cologne (Ladies opinion please)

To all woman, ladies, chicks in here…what is your favorite/preference of mens cologne do you like to put on your man?

I ask b/c I need help in choosing as there are tons of mens scent out there.

i like older scents like gray flannel and peirecarden.
they are not popular, so im not sure that i am helpful. i know my SO at the time loved the scents as well. they are woodsy.
i am not a big fan of newer scents, but i also like the Ammo.

thanks.

Have you smelled armani black code yet? I kinda like that one.

not yet, i hear that is popular.someone else has posted about its use, punch it in the search engine…
i stay with simple and the newer scents are complex.nice though.
the colognes i like are woody, maybe mossy, sometimes mandarin, maybe a patchouli note in their somewhere. vetiver.

I ADORE gray flannel…I didn’t think that anybody else even remembered that one…

hmm gray flannel…gotta try that!

Heh.. I prefer the more masculin smelling colognes. Anyone have any recommendations on colognes/musks?

what notes are particularly masculine to you, and maybe we can go from there…

has any ladies here smell Estee Lauder Pleasures for Men?

When I sniffed Gray Flannel from a sampler bottle I hated it… But I did recently try a quick spray of actually wearing it. Took a while to dry down to something tolerable. The jury is still out with me. But then again, it’s how the ladies like it that counts, isn’t it…

Not too wild about supposedly popular Cool Water either.

Lor, Dolly,
What do you ladies think that is suitable for this 18 yr old college freshmen…lol

If you like musky fragrances ,i recently mixed up some ’ You’r the fire - musk’ with NPA . Got alot of compliments on the scent and it does a decent job of covering that nasty anone smell.

One of my exes bought that for me a couple of years back. She obviously liked it enough to pick it out for me. Must be a good choice. I like the fragrance quite a bit.

Even though I like muskier fragrances (mones got me into the ‘darker’ scents) younger women don’t take well to them at all. They really seem to prefer some of the sweeter fragrances. I get complemented quite a bit when I wear ammunition, and find myself fumbling with trying to make up what cologne I’m really wearing lol .

One word of advice, don’t stick to the really popular fragrances. Find something that smells nice, but is very distinct. Your fragrance should be your own…something to associate exlclusively to you. 360 Red is my fragrance of choice right now.

 i thank you…

yeah most of the case, in every mall i went to, acqua di gio seems to be demanding caz its like all sold out…

well im wearing jean de paul right now and kinda running low. so just want to try different.

Not exactly sure what notes I like as I’m just budding into the whole cologne/musk world. When I say masculine though, I just mean anything that doesn’t come off as all sweet or “fresh” as some of these newer colognes that are coming out. In fact, when I talk a bout masculine smells, I don’t mind anything that comes off as alittle dark or heavy.. as I enjoy the smell of my own “fresh perspiration.”

You get what you pay for… quality speaks for itself

although not every expensive fragrance is as good as it ought to be, plus there are many fine men’s colognes that won’t be your style… in the final analysis the good products are worth the extra cost… something in the back of the brain abhors things that smell cheap… for example, we’re hanging out somewhere in the midwest on the road between nowhere and nowhere, a gaggle of chickaroos come prancing by with such awful perfume on, even self respecting hookers don’t wear something that downmarket… it smelled like glorified insecticide… and amplified the tackiness of the situation to a farce… that smell remains in my memory 25 years later it was so distinctly ughsome… and then I think of the times I’ve scented something remarkable… effort, consciousness, discerment went into the making of it, the choosing it… how that too anchors the moment… when we were young and had no sense, manly crap was being promoted like Brut and Hai Karate and we’d swagger around and reek and had fictional harems attending to our needs… there was an art to it but we’d never heard of Hermes or any of the other great houses… slowly there was a learning curve to be mastered… what were the implicit messages that fragrace notes yielded ? How much of it, how close would someone need to stand to you to be aware of what you were wearing… did it shout, did it whisper, did it have something particular to say, were you one of the pack or did you stand out ? How far ? I’ve come to like things that don’t announce their cologneness… rather complicated mixtures of woodyness, animal, herbal, pungence that might be the admixture of several sources… working in a barn, being around wood fires, tropical plants, cathederals, far flung places… something that arouses curiosity and wonder instead of throwing all the cards on the table at once…

lol :open_mouth:

try the Ammo.
not for nothing, i mean your targeting much younger chicks, but Ammo would make me want to sit in someones LAP in class!:open_mouth:

Yo Pilot,

check out this site. www.perfumesonline.com.au

There’s a star sign option there. Put in your star sign and click go. It’ll give u a list of what scents go well with your personality type. I use this all the time and the scents that I buy always seem to go well with my personality. It’s a darn good site.

Also , if u’re young, try to go for a fresher sorta fragrance, and not so musky, otherwise it’ll not seem congruent with you. It’s as if you stole your dad’s cologne or something. If u’re in Asia, I would recommend Issey Miyake. That’s as musky as you’d wanna get. It’s got some lemoney top notes with more woody/musky/tobacco on the dry down base note. Very nice. But again,do check with that website first and see what’s suited to you.
