Ok, so I REALLY need help diluting my EST from LS. The bottle says its a total of 10 mg/bottle . Heres what Im thinking. Correct me if Im wrong.
If I use the same bottle that the EST came in (Ill empty the rest of the EST into an empty blue cobalt bottle)
1mg=1,000 mcg
SO, If I use 1mg of the EST and 9mg of Perfumers Alchohol, that"ll give me about 9mcg of EST/ spray right?? Would it be correct to dilute it that way?
Somebody please help me!! Ive been searching for the exact dilution information, but I need it explained in simple terms! LOL
Okay look. The amount of mcg per spray depends on the bottle your using.
1000/10 which entails dividing the amount of mcgs by the total amount of mL which in your case is 10 mL since 9 perfumers + the 1 mL that holds the 1000 mcgs. That will tell you how many mcgs are in each mL.
To find the amount of mcgs per spray in the “to go” you’d divide the amount of mcgs per mL by 8 since to go’s spray about 8 sprays per mL. Otherwise for the big bottle you’d divide by 6.667 instead
1000 mcgs in 10 ml is 100 mcgs per mL
In a big bottle spray that is equivalent to 15 mcgs per spray
In a to go bottle that is equivalent to 12.5 mcgs per spray
I believe with LS you get 10 ml of 1 mg/ml concentration, and it needs to be diluted.
At 1 mg per 1 ml of carrier if you transferred it to an Androtics spray bottle it would have a 150 mcg /spray concentration. So, you need to dilute it down.
I make a stock 50 mcg /spray solution by adding 20 ml of perfumer’s alcohol to the 10 ml of EST
Thanks so much for your response! So does that mean that if I had 25 ml of perfumers alcohol and 5 ml of EST, then I would be having a 20 mcg/ spray dosage??

I am pretty sure its right, I have a few bottles of EST from Androtics still so I dont dilute my own much. I am going on DJ.s explaination and I trust that.

Okay I’ve run backwards and forwards and can’t process the math. Every time I think I have it and double check myself I get a different answer.
I’m getting EST at 2mg 10ml and a 30ml bottle of the perfumer’s dilution from AD with a pipette to measure, how do I not screw this up too badly?
At 1 mg per 1 ml of carrier if you transferred it to an Androtics spray bottle it would have a 150mcg/spray concentration but yours is double the concentration. Therefore 2mg per 1ml of carrier would give you 300mcg/spray.
If 1 part EST and 5 parts dilutent ===> 25 mcg /spray [1 mg per 1 ml] then 2mg per 1ml would give you 50mcg… I think!
Basically if you added 20ml of perfumer’s alcohol to 10ml of EST [2 mg per 1 ml] ===> 100 mcg/spray…
Therefore 20ml of perfumer’s alcohol added to 5ml of EST [2 mg per 1 ml] ===> 50 mcg/spray.
Hopefully someone with more experience will be able to check this out… but i’m pretty much in the same situation as you but my EST is 5mg per 1ml.
Do you have any empty togo bottles?! That’s what i’m going to put my extra perfumer’s alcohol in! Might try mixing up a batch of EoW and something else…will have to think about it for a bit though!
Just mixed my EST and Perfumer’s Alcohol… I used 2ml (5ml/mg) of EST and 28ml of perfumer’s alcohol (neroli!) which should give me 50mcg/spray if my calculations are correct!
I added 1ml of EoW to the remaining 2mls of perfumer’s alcohol and put it in an empty togo! Going to leave it sit for a few days before testing it out. If it still smells awful, i’ll add a ml of my favourite perfume!
I dropped her a PM a day or two before I posted and hadn’t heard anything, so I’ll going with Classicalflower’s math for me and my strength. All the goodies came in to do it with.
If all the math is right I used 20ml of the perfumer’s spray and 5ml of the EST (2mg/10ml) and now have a bottle of 25mg with 50mcg spray strength if I use the original big bottle. This leaves me with 5ml of EST, 10ml of perfumer’s spray, some EOW (and Desire Me) and to go bottles (and one empty 30ml IS bottle holding the extra perfumer’s stuff) to play with.
I put 2ml of Perfumer’s Alcohol, 1 ml of EoW and 1 ml of Perfume in a Togo bottle…and it smells fine! Sprayed some on me a little while ago and it isn’t too strong…don’t think i’d need to cover it with more perfume!
Okay in the to-go bottle I did 1.5ml of Pink Sugar, about 2ml of perfumer’s alcohol, a dropper of EST, and 5 drops of EOW. Was a little heady so I topped it off with more Pink Sugar, now I’ll let it compost and see how it does.
Mostly smells of alcohol with a hint of sweet. Maybe more EOW?
ETA: added a little more Pink Sugar and topped it off with Desire Me. Smells fine now but have to remember to shake the bottle well before I use it.
