alright so lately i have been depressed. i cheated on my girlfriend and lied about it my whole relationship. she broke up with me which is understandable. alright so she tells me she hates me, to never call her again, she has found a new guy “friend” (which i am almost certain is just a rebound so she doesnt think of me), she tells me there is no hope and i need to get it through my head, she tells me i ruined her life, and that she wants me gone ok u get the point… my question is does she really mean this stuff because yesterday was our supposed to b two year and she called saying the above things and then had a good conveersation with me about what i did wrong and whatnot i assured her i learned which i did… so now today i call her… she yells at me telling me the above things and tells me to leave for good. what do i make of the situation? is there hope? does she mean what she is saying? and what is the best way to get her back?.. i stopped calling her everynight and didnt hear from her for 5 days until she called me yesterday… i really love her and learned my lesson just want her back
… thank u
If I see the situation correctly, there’s not a lot you can do right now. She is (probably temporarily) shutting you out, keeping a negative image of you in her mind so she can deal with the feelings. The best you can do now is leave her alone for a while, with time (weeks/months) the negative image will fade away and she’ll probably want to get in touch for the sake of good closure. Maybe then (but only then, not earlier) you could try something. If you try to approach her now she’ll just push you away and the whole process would prolly take longer.
But if I were you I would really really think it over
Edit: Oh yeah, I’m not a lady sorry for that ![]()
thanks for the reply. yeah it just really sucks because i leave for basic traing on december 1st. so times is precious right now and i love the girl more than ever and just keep loosing my mind not knowing what to do. it kills me thinking that she means all those nasty things. but thank you very much for your advice bud.
You still got chance.
Ask her to be your normal friend again. From there, you try to win her heart again .
I’m not saying this to rub salt in your wounds but speaking as someone who’s been on the recieving end of cheating…If you love someone, there is nothing that hurts more than to find out that they’ve cheated on you. It’s not only the betrayal & disrespect that the person you love has been physically intimate with someone else that hurts, you also have feel emotionally betrayed & loose the trust you had in that person. It’s extremely difficult to go back to trusting someone who has hurt you in such a way, and trust is really important in a relationship.
If this was said in the heat of the moment with the initial shock that you get when just finding out then maybe she didn’t mean it…if she’s had time to think about things then I’m inclined to think she does mean it.
Ok, one thing to remember about women is that dates are usually a lot more important to us than they are to men. We’ll remember exactly when our first date was, the first time we slept together and we most definitively remember anniversaries… If she called you to tell you her views of what you did wrong, and telling you that she doesn’t want you in her life ON THE VERY DAY that would have been your 2nd anniversary… That to a woman is not something that happens randomly…it’s very significant! My bet is that calling you on the day of what would have been your 2nd anniversary is her way of emotionally drawing the line to where she decided to move on with her life. If she had any doubts or wanted to try and make things work I really don’t think she would call you on that very day to tell you what you mentioned above…
I agree with Xiph, you fucked up. I know us men aren’t too good at remembering dates like these, but I’m sure all can be forgiven if you innocently forgot and by this I truly mean innocently forgot and not using this as an excuse. It happens, but you cheated on her AND forgot! Wow, messed up. That’s even more reason for her to be pissed off at you dude, I mean how would you feel if you were in her shoes? I know temptation can be hard, trust me I know but actually doing it is passing the line.
With time she may be able to forgive you, but as Xiph said it depends. If she had already thought about it multiple times and hasn’t thought about forgiving you then you’re screwed. Give her time, all the excuses or begging won’t help you right now, you hurt her so she obviously doesn’t want to hear from you at the moment so just give her space until she collects herself and is able to judge you accordingly.
thanks for all the replys everyone.. i didnt forget about our 2 year anniversary. instead i was told to cut off contact with her for sometime which is why i did not call… believe me i knew it was our 2 year. i couldnt hold back the tears at work and i work on a farm bailing hay currently… it was embarrassing but i truely love her… thank yall for her
Well, now you know how she feels.
i know i messed up. im an idiot for doing so but i learned now i need the second chance
What you have done is wrong and you may never live it down with her.
The likely hood you get a second chance gets less with each contact attempt where you are apologizing, it is clear she is not going to forgive you overnight.
Saying your sorry is one thing, but showing her you still care is another.
Instead you have to be creative, get her to remember the good times you had, the fun and happy things you did together.
at this point anything you do is going to have to depend on you, and what you are capable of. getting sustained contact is the easiest way, but in loo of that a card or note is better than nothing,
a “We missed our anniversary can we still go out to dinner and a movie?” (even afternoon or whatever)
It maybe best to pack your bags and move on, so to speak, she may come back to you, but in all likely hood she will not.
Having been cheated on by my wife for the past several years and only coming to realize and find out about it the past few months since she left me, I would have to tell you right now - there’s no chance I would take her back. She has never been open about it, she probably never will be. There is no trust for me where she is concerned. So. That said, you have a very hard uphill battle if you go there. Don’t beg, don’t plead. DONT apologize. That drives the other person away. Don’t be reminding her that you’ve done stuff to apologize for, that only serves to allow them to keep remembering and not forgetting the bad things between you. What you want to do is show her that you are a fun person to be around, to hang around with, and maybe she can learn to trust you again. But you will have to be open, and treat her more like a really good friend than someone you can get intimate with. Otherwise, her barriers will be up all the time around you. Barriers do not do well when trying to have a relationship (any relationship.) Good luck!
Well, I guess I can chip in with my 2 cents too. I’ve also been cheated on in 2 marriages, and after the second I moved 1500 miles away, just to be sure that I didn’t try to do anything stupid like take her back. ![]()
I’m sure she loved you and that beneath the hurt and betrayal she still does. BUT, I have to agree with Xiphoid and say that calling you on what would have been an anniversary was her way of getting closure, nice and neat with a definitive beginning and end.
And, to be honest, even if she had not called, I think you created an irreconcilable situation because you’re leaving for the military in 2 1/2 months. It takes a lot longer than that to regain a lovers trust, and even if she were to take you back, I think that within a month or 2 she’d have changed her mind and moved on.
I know that we’re not telling you what you want to hear, but we are sharing our honest thoughts and opinions, and it doesn’t do any good to sugarcoat. Sorry dude, I wish I could tell you otherwise, but I kinda think it’s over.
The Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!
If you had the grass in that field and jumped the fence anyway, then don’t expect to be able to go back and find the same lush green pasture you left.
My current Girl has been cheated on by her last two boyfriends, and is very bitter about it! I doubt most women would not harbor harsh feelings for those who betrayed them.
Just find another girl. Unless she was the best you could get.
