hi ladies i just wanted a min of your time to ask whats the most important part of what a mans wearing? I believe this to be shoes but whats better than to ask a lady herself? also whats the best cologne?
i use coolwater and issey miyakke
thankyou for your time looking forwards to your valued opinions
Goodmorning,
Definitely shoes and pants for me…are they nice and clean are they ironed neatly, etc…but important for me also is how well he is groomed. is his hair neatly combed, is his breath fresh(we can all buy mints or gum). As for cologne, yes I love to smell a man wearing cologne. two of my favorite mens scents are lagerfield and Drakkar Noir. Cologne should be applied in such a way as to not overpower or knock me upon approaching.
He doesn’t have to be a millionaire just look the part, basically look like he cares how he looks and then put on an aura of confidence. There is nothing sexier to me than a man who knows he’s got it going on.
Well, apart from the guy himself, the first thing that would strike me is the shirt. Fit, colour, details, etc. I definitely give “good points” for a guy in a well-cut shirt with distinctive detailing over a guy wearing an average shirt with good shoes.
And it’s a nice way to showcase the bod without being too obvious.
Although all this is probably skewed by my work environment, where the shirt is the most obvious male fashion statement around.
Shoes are important (but being a shoe fiend myself, I would say that) but very dependent on the occasion. If its a dressy event, shoes are important to me on a guy, otherwise not so much.
For cologne, I love Eau Sauvage and Terre d’Hermès.
Bowling Green by Geofrey Beene (OMFG!!! this stuff drives me bananas–amazing, classic, sexiest men’s scent in creation)
Irish Spring Soap (easy clean and sexy)
Gucci Envy (clean expensive and a bit sensual)
Ammo scent and whatever the Mystery Boy scent is (expensive and fresh)
** Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male**, any version, use just one spray (strange but good–but still very popular)
** Fashion Tips by Kitten!**
When in doubt, wear a shirt with buttons down the front. Do not button the top button.
With a short sleeve button down, wear a t shirt under it (still button the shirt). Not sure why, but it looks much better.
Wear chinos, jeans, or shorts that give some sort of clue about the contour of your butt.
Never wear a t shirt with contrasting color trim around the collar and sleeves. (looks like 2nd grade gym class)
Try to have a “look.” If you want to wear your old band t with holes in it, make sure the rest of your outfit and hair etc goes with it.
Be careful with sandals and flip flops. Make sure your feet look okay. And obviously (I hope!) no socks.
A well tailored suit makes anyone look 300% better.
Boxers, definitely. No holes. (Personal pref, but commando in jeans is kind of sexy.)
One showy piece of jewelry at a time.
Best accessory to spend money on is a nice looking chunky metal watch because you can wear it every day.
If you wear glasses, get new frames every two years to stay in fashion. Otherwise, get contacts or Lasik if you can.
Use your pockets. If I see anyone freaking wearing a freaking fanny pack, man purse, or clip on phone holster, I will freaking give you a freaking fashion detention. Briefcase, laptop bag, or messenger bag is fine.
Never tuck a shirt into jeans unless you are a cowboy or over 45.
Untrimmed beard and mustache growth makes you look newly single and/or depressed. ]** Most important***: Wear whatever the heck you want.
Kitkit
When it comes to impressing the lady, lol I think the shirt/pants/ and specially the shoes are important! lol when I look at the shoes…it kinda says something about the dude imo. If it’s polished/clean, it tells me that the guy is a clean dude (and I like neat guys!), if it looked like it has been worn for the last 5 years in the jungle, then I’d run lol just kidding
cologne/perfume wise, I couldn’t really care to be honest. Sometimes I find that some men drench themselves in cologne that people can smell them a mile away lol. Rich cologne, used lightly is very very sexy I like it when I can smell his cologne when I’m beside him…gives this glowly effect lol
Anyways, just wear whatever you want! As long as you look like a clean/neat/great smelling (weird way to tell it!) young man
I dont care what a guy wears I am not impressed by cloths really.
I do notice if they are dirty though, and I dont like that unless he is in a situation where he is in the process of getting dirty like construction workers or Mechanics. But when you go out you should be neat and clean.
Scents… Well I am unusual LOL I like earthy scents like Oakmoss, resins, sandlewood Cederwood musks tobacco . I really dont like many department store colognes. Blue sugar is nice and not sweet like pink sugar. Oddly enough I like the smell of tranny fluid when on my husband after he has been under his the car. LOL Yes I know I am weird
God yes. I love a man in a button down shirt. Throw in an unbuttoned collar and a t-shirt peeking out the top and you’ve got yourself a drooling ariadne.
Yesyesyes. See above. I don’t know why the t-shirt makes it all so much hotter, but it does.
In my opinion a man should never ever wear sandals or flip flops. I will give a little leeway for flip flops on a beach, but nowhere else. There is no appropriate place for sandals on a man, however. I have The Fear of running into Mr. Darcy outside of work and seeing him wearing sandals. Or worse! Sandals and socks. I’d have to rethink things if I saw that!
Oh god yes. Boxers always. Another instance of The Fear: Mr. Darcy wears briefs. I know odds are that he does since I think I’ve read somewhere that a majority of men do. I’ll just have to brace myself for this one.
I love going commando in jeans.
Allways use shortsleeve shirts but never a T-shirt under it. but thanks for that tip im gonna use it. My current footwear is Army boots. polished. Im a member of a mill-sim group and I love me boots gives me a sense of order. which i must ask… boots are good on men yea? Black leather like shiney black boots?
the ones i got on now are the same as the USA - Swat team wear.
I dont personally care about cloths to much, I’m a kinda gal who wears my pjs for a fast movie run to blockbuster. But you ask how important is cloths, somewhat very they speak alot more than fashion. My moms a typical Korean dry cleaner so i grew up looking at brands and fashions.
1)A woman can ‘often’ (not always) tell your income just by what brand you wear.
Tee Shirt with logos… like verizon shirts ugh…
Brand I never heard of 30-50,000
Gap, Banana Republic 50-70,000
Hugbo Boss, Alfani shirts 90-110,000
Gucci, Prada 130,000+
Cloth colors
a) Solid white or blue colors. Standard kinda boring.
b) Basic male color shirts tan, white, blue assorted patterns and stripes. Your wife went shopping with you or your mother did. Might think any color other than thoes are not man colors! (grunt)
c)Lots of colors and patterns, like pink and violet. Very secure in their masculinity.
d)You break off from cotton and polyester to silk shirts with patterns and sexy cuts and patterns. Your rich and show it off with latest Italian styles.
Shoes
a) Again with brands I can tell a cheap shoe from a expensive one so can many women if you shop at TJ max or Nordstrom or in Newyork. Should be easy to tell.
b) Shiney shoes means you take the time to make your self look good. Shoes with dust means you might not care as much how good you look.
Just my 2 cents not trying to offend anyone. Just personally think what you wear reflects who you are.
i’m not rich but if I was i wouldent wear expensive shoes coz i’d attract the wrong kind of girl. i ainta cheap ass but i dont want gold diggers. If i pulled a girl its coz i like her not for a quikkie.
I don’t have strong preferences in men’s clothing, as long as it’s clean and you’re clean, and it fits. This craze for giant-sized shirts and pants escapes me.
I do care if you’re in shape, though … big shoulders, muscled arms … ::
If you have sexy tan feet (send me a pic - will advise) I fully support seeing you in sandals, otherwise, eh …
Scent worn lightly is great!! I don’t want to smell you as soon as I enter the building, though.
I can be as attracted to a man in a T-shirt and jeans as I am to a guy in an Armani suit. Depends on the guy. A clean, neat well groomed appearance is a must. Gotta look and smell good. I like manly men…lol. Anybody who knows me knows that. No girly-boys for Bella. So, that leaves out the fast trackin’ metro look. I agree with KitKat…leave the man purse at home. That’s why you have pockets…or a girl friend or wife who can carry your sh*t. Pressed, button down, open collared shirts are good…give a neat appearance even with jeans. I, also, like an undershirt. Don’t like ta see them hairs through the shirt. And the pants should fit. I’m with Carrie here…it’s amazing the number of..ah…boys I see who can do everything with one hand…because the other one is always occupied holding up their pants. I amused to think WTF would happen if they ever needed to simultaneously use both hands to complete a task. There’s this thing called a belt. If you’re Italian, you like and know good shoes. I’m Italian. I notice shoes. If you’re going to wear sandals, please, remember feet are a part of your body…make sure they look that way and not like some alien from another galaxy. Clothes don’t necessarily have to be expensive, but good tailoring helps…Italians know about that too. My uncle was a tailor…I spent a lot of hours in his shop. I don’t like shorts on grown men…they’re adorable if you’re six. And bangs..oh, boy…cute if you’re Buster Brown…sorry, chopper, you’re gonna haveta google that one. If a man doesn’t have the impetus to be reasonably well groomed before venturing out…i.e. comb his hair, brush his teeth and scrape off the big hunks in general…he can jus’ keep movin’. Don’t expect a second look from me…no matter how potentially hot. I ain’t into fixer uppers or overhauls. By a certain age a man should already be fixed-up/overhauled. I want one that’s already G2G. As far as fragrances go…be judicious…light handed…don’t wanna smell ya comin’ or goin’. The more commercial ones I like are Armani and Dolce and Gabbana. Ain’t nothin’ I said here got nothin’ ta do with no gold diggin’. I mine my own. Thank-you. Oh…and I like briefs.
Right on, Ariadne! We want undershirts! We want undershirts! And not cheapy see thru thin fruit of the loom either.
MJ, military boots are cool. I have a pair of Docs. But do go all the way with the “look.” Mil haircut, fashionable cammo. You should also be aware that before a girl gets to knows you, a militia look could scare her off. She might imagine you decorate your walls at home with katanas and klingon replica swords etc.
Lady Grey, yep. You can gauge the cost of a shirt just from how the fabric feels. But I find that if a guy spends too much on his clothes he is probably too self-centered for me.
Bella, you are so right about those silly thigh high jeans. Maybe the boys have secret suspenders on under those giant t shirts–that we never ever see. Tailoring, absolutely. I’ve seen schlubby guys transform in front of my eyes just by putting a jacket back on. Briefs, well I guess that’s like Sierra Mist vs Sprite. Matter of taste.
007 informs me he wears banded 2nd grade shirts. Well, I warned him. He will attract the few straight female gym teachers in his area.
Awww… thats why I never have any money - Don’t go buying Hugo Boss/Diesel/Canali when you only make 50K a year
I actually found Alfani shirts to be pretty darn cheap - only 70$ for a decent fitted dress shirt sweet! (very few dress shirts brands look decent on me off the shelf - Canali happens to be one)
I totally agree , I don’t usuallly notice what he’s wearing but some men go so far to impress it just turns me off , u could tell he wore 10 outfits just to get it right. I also hate when a guy looks like he just jumped from a rap video (no offense to anyone) .
As long as a guy is neat , smells good and has the confidence to go with it he will definitely get my attention and when he talks to me and he’s smart , he will definitely get a number.
Out of curiosity, what do you ladies have against briefs? I find that a little odd that it’d matter Just in case you couldn’t figure out, I wear briefs. Often polyester briefs, much more comfortable in the heat.
Also, Kitten, why no tucking your shirt into your jeans? If I don’t do that… I feel like a bit of a slob. I don’t always tuck my shirt in but most of the time I do. Don’t worry though, you will never catch me in sandals, even in Florida. Fire ants and sandals do not mix. You will also rarely catch me wearing shorts, either.
I hardly ever wear undershirts. They trap too much heat in Florida. Maybe in the winter I will wear one, otherwise, no.
I decided a long time ago I wasn’t going to let women dress me or tell me what to wear. I had my aunt do that once many years ago when I was much younger, and she put me in the wrong clothes over and over. Shirts that were a hair too tight, clothes looked ridiculous, etc. I learned my lesson
And FWIW, I shop mostly at Target or TJMax for clothes… don’t care about brands. Some clothes I buy specialty off the internet, like Outlast shirts that are great in the heat or in the winter when it’s sometimes chilly. Otherwise I’m cheap. I think clothes should be functional and protect your from the elements, other than that, I don’t care.
I like t-shirts (not tucked in) and jeans, but I’m a simple girl. Tucked in reminds me of elementary school when your mom used to dress you. On the other hand though, if your t-shirt is like 2 sizes too big, hanging past your knees, then that is a problem too!
I don’t mind sandals, but please don’t combine them with khaki shorts (think Charlie Sheen ) and I hate it when guys wear those ugly, bright basketball shoes. A lot of guys my age wear those with their jerseys and I think it just looks dumb.
As for cologne, I really like Carolina Herrera 212 for men. Yum!
To be honest am not sure…I just think that briefs look like panties and I don’t want my guy wearing what I wear…Lol…I get turned on by boxers , maybe it’s that slit in the front for easy access…
