Hey folks,
I’m a literature lover, a late-teens dude (yes that means I’m male) from the northeastern United States who’s been reading into the real world of neuroscience for a while, and recently stumbled on the idea of pheromones.
During my prepubescent years, I was into the nlp scene, which liberated my thinking in big ways and really helped me to write precisely when necessary. NLP also helped me understand the importance of friends, which lead me into a quest for a way to formally learn a strong set of heuristics for social interaction. I didn’t find Bandler and Grinder’s approach to social interaction practical (I can’t think that hard!) but conversational hypnosis has been working out well so far (I’ve been working with Igor Ledochowski’s Power of Conversational Hypnosis. I lingered on CD 2 about rapport for a long while, but now I’ve moved forward to CD’s 3 and 4, figuring I’ll figure out what I’m doing wrong with 2 later. And it seems like I am figuring it out. Experiential learning rocks. I need to do more of it.)
I think psychological comfort and physical and psychological trust are hugely important in any relationship big or small (because they facilitate good ideas getting shared and bad ideas getting shared and purified.) I was reading about the odd way our nasal chemosensory systems map top the brain, and I started wondering which chemical signals would have the most positive impact on those around me. I came across James V. Kohl’s book (which I haven’t actually read,) which lead me to his product, Scent of Eros. Seeing the reviews on Amazon, I realized this product might be amazing, so I started researching why, which lead me to the list of active ingredients (mostly androstenol and androstenone, right?) which lead to a deeper literary search about the effectiveness of those ingredients, which (is still going on but has also) lead me here.
I’m considering sampling Instant Shine (since feeling good is usually good) and either Instant Openness or Instand Honesty (though not both,) but some stuff on the forum has suggested that estratetraenol or (as some of the things I’ve read have suggested) A1 (which seems to make women less easily offended) may be more suitable for my purposes (open, trusting discourse – I want people to feel comfortable without being stupid). My biggest concerns are about the products’ psychological and physical safety. So four questions:
- Has anyone experienced a psychological/physical dependency on any of the aforementioned products?
- Would someone mind telling me about the side effects of each of the products?
- Do any of these products tend to interfere with sanity?
- Assuming all the above checks out (or that the benefits outweigh the risks) and keeping my goals in mind, which products should I try, and in what order should I try them?
Thanks, and I look forward to learning more, be it through this forum or (as it has been so far) through Elsevier.
See ya round! ![]()
