How to custom mix

Hello,

How do you do your custom mixes?

What tools do you use to measure and mix your mones, etc with or without cologne?

Where do you keep them? Sephora atomizers? Anything else?

I’m planning to get another measuring cup, some pipettes and funnels online. What are you guys using?

Do you use them right away when you mix them or do you let a day or two pass?

Thank you.

I’m not that big of a mixer. I usually just put in a few sprays into a to go bottle from different things I want to mix. To Go bottles don’t leak for me. I think I’ve had one leak from the 10+ I have.

I never thought about mixing with cologne though. I think I’ll try that.

Oh and AD has some mixing supplies for an average price on their site. If you’re close to $60 or $100 it’d be worth ordering them.

Pick up some empty 5ml togo bottles, pipettes, and perfumers alcohol to begin. I picked up around 100 pipettes for $5-$7 on ebay; empty bottles and perfumers alcohol from androtics.

Start with small batches. I use the mix calculator for all of my mixes except MX301 (Mix Calculator 4.0 : Software to make your own mixes)

It can be easy to waste the product when making a custom mix. It is fun but is best to hold off mixing until you have conducted enough individual research and field testing on the individual molecules so you know exactly how each reacts alone and with another.

If your as new as I think you are your best to stay away from mixing in bottles because it will end up being a massive waist of molecules if you don’t know what you are doing.

Your Skin is a Pheromone Mixing Canvas

It takes years of experience working with mones to come up with decent workable mixes.

You need to understand the separate molecules and how they interact with each other at different ratios. How to make it bond, how to make it diffuse enough, how to buffer and enhance various molecules. There is a lot more to each then just this or that in a bottle.

Unless you have money to burn and true knowledge of pheromones I don’t suggest mixing. For every 1 fabulous mix made by AD there were hundreds of duds, variations, mixes and remixes to get that formula correct. You don’t see those mixes in the store in the infant stage, they only release them in the store when they are close to perfected.

Tisha

Big thank you to both Tisha and Ghost on this.

While you can compound your own mixes yourself, and we even supply you the goods to do so, AND we can even make the dang things for you, too,

it’s really not recommended for The New.

Mixing is a labor of love. You see some seasoned vets do it because they know what they’re doing.

Big failure points when you make your own mixes in togo bottles, or in atomizers from sephora or what have you is INCONSISTENCY and INNACCURACY. Plus, it is pretty annoying to use a dozen pipettes on one untested mix. What if it sucks? You just spent a lot of money on wastage.

The both the Instant line AND Experimone kit was designed for those wanting to develop and customize mixes for themselves.

The design behind SUCCESSFUL mixthink is that you use your skin as a canvas. Spray a little P130 on the wrist. Layer TAA atop that to flavor the mix. Squirt a couple squirts of Androsterone to flavor it even more. If it sucks, you wash it off and start anew. If it rules, well, right on your bottle you know your dosage, strength, and you know how many sprays you used. The key here is that it is REPEATABLE.

You post up your killer recipe. With the same base components, everyone else can make the same mix and test/enjoy your same results.

All the while YOU get “big pimp” status, because you brought a new way of mixing, a NEW WAY OF THINKING to the forum. Your rep will go up, and not only is the community going to knight you, but you also created this @(#*$3@ing awesome mix!

If you’re spending all your money and pheros mixing in your own bottles, the information doesn’t spread like wildfire. It’s stuck in the bottle that’s sitting on your dresser. Outside influences (like adding your own cologne) can seriously mar your results, because of the chemistry of perfume. Basenotes in modern colognes can bind to your molecules and render them useless, clinging to your skin.

That’s why we’ve poured ourselves into the Stealth Diffusion technology. Pheromones are human musks. Some of them stick close to the skin. We’re learning how to get pheros off the skin and into the air, into people’s noses. Neroli was fine for that, but we want to go even deeper stealth. We’re technology freaks like that.

Well.. now I know.

Covering with your own fragrance never seemed to be frowned upon before..
Are you saying that even if quantities are measured perfectly, mixing in a bottle is not the same as mixing on the skin?

The only thing I’ve ever mixed is Ammunition + IShine. I’d already tried the mix and it seemed to work better than most of my other mixes. I did it for two reasons:

  1. Assuming a 1:1 ratio, the concentration of androstenone drops down to just above 1mcg/spray
  2. It’s easier to spray one bottle than two lol

I did it a while back. I remember I calculated the volume of each spray and worked out all that math. I considered the fact that the volume of each spray may not be consistent, but if that were the case, then each spray on your skin wouldn’t be consistent either. I also did some test runs which may have wasted as much as 10 sprays. It did work a little better for some reason, but I quit doing it. Most importantly though, I felt like a mad scientist doing it.

It’s not that easy, remember that too much PA or wrong ratios can negtively invfluence sillage and diffusion, this is why people always tell you to layer, there are members here that composited their own mixes but also have done it uniform and didn’t bring any unknown and untested variables into their mixes.

I’ve always layered on skin and only composited when I found an awesome mix and only did that as a form of travel to-go or refresher bottle.

Well yeah it kind of always been mentioned that you should apply cologne in different area than the mones. What’s happened, with the influx of newer members not knowing what they are doing, they’re reading and then spreading further misinformation. Its inevitable and part of the learning process.

Many colognes use anti-microbial and anti-bacterial ingredients so that the scent of lavender or what have you, is not altered by the persons natural body chemistry. This way when you use Clive Christian #1, or if I use it, the scent relatively stays the same. There are some people who just cannot wear colognes, so to counter this the cologne manufacturers use ingredients that actually change your body chemistry in the area of application. Its not harmful to you because you still have 99.997% of your body still producing the same bacterias. However using it on top of another molecule can very well destroy that molecule, or as John mentioned, render it useless.

Mixing in the bottle should only really be done on the skin unless you can replicate the same amount of all ingredients. If you have 10 mcg of PYY and 12 mcg of PXX on the skin, in a bottle the ratios would have to compensate for the difference in mcg per spray. Basically if you had a to go and needed three sprays of the Pxx to equal 12 mcg and 4 of the Pyy to = 10 mcg, you would need to spray the entire content of that to go bottle to equal the same as spraying it on the skin.

Using your example of Ishine to Ammo: If on average you wore two sprays of Ishine and Ammo each even in the to go you would still need to spray 4 sprays and by mixing them you might very well be getting more of a light molecule like TAA opposed to a heavier molecular weighted molecule enone or vice-a-versa.

This is certainly not to discourage you from experimenting, but you should always use your skin as a canvas. Whenever I make a new mix I spend months testing and restesting which molecules to mix on the skin first. Only after I get the whole shebang down do I even attempt to bottle mix. However mixing in a bottle means mixing concentrates. If I need 5mcg of P83 per spray I therefore need about 50 mcg P83 at about half a bottle which is diluted down by everything else that goes in the bottle.

So yeah skin canvasing is the easiest and best way to make a killer mix. All we are really encouraging you to do is make a killer mix instead of something that can never be duplicated or worse, waste a whole bucket load of a rarity like P86 with no discernible results garnered.

So if I apply the mones on my neck, I shouldn’t spray my neck with my favorite cologne then?

I’m loving my Creed GIT cologne right now on my neck, chest and wrists. Spraying once on my chest with clothes on should be enough then, right, John?

I’ll probably spray my lower neck/upper chest with cologne bare and then on my shirt - chest area.

I have to admit that I do not try to create new mixes. I really do not have the time.

I will test new MXes and putatives from AD as well as mixes others have sent me.

I do make mixes or composites but those are of AD mixes that we know the recipes of or some of Steve’s mixes. I have the tools here at the house but unlike most when I do these composites I make them in 30 ml size as I am making mixes I really like.
