How to put shortcuts for reports on your journal!

Hey PT! Hope you’re all having a great day/evening.

Okay - I really love going through and readings members’ journals of phero adventures, I really do. But sometimes, I just get so put off getting into journals that are pages and pages and pages long! :open_mouth: :o

This especially happens when I’m looking for a specific report and the search tool can’t narrow it down. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a valuable thing to have so much feedback and insights in one journal, but it still makes me hesitate from time to time and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone on this.

That’s why I am humbly suggesting to some of the newer journal writers to add a ‘contents page’ of sorts to their phero journal. It will only take a few extra minutes and make everything a lot tidier and easier to find. Here is a step-by-step guide…

  1. Post your report on the product (or combo) du jour. Read this thread by Tisha if you are unsure how you should report.

  2. Right-click on the post permalink, and click Copy Link, or Copy Link Address.

or

  1. Go to the very first post of your journal, and click edit.

  1. On your index, give the report a name, that will be easy for you to identify later. Some examples are:
  • Ammo sweet-spot testing, day one
  • Amazing hits at the gym with P74
  • 2 sprays IG + 1 spray IO + 1 spray IS
  1. Click and drag over the title you just typed to highlight it.

  1. Click the Insert Link icon, and paste the link you copied in (2).

  1. It should now show up as a clickable blue link. Save, and you’re all done!

Now whenever you need to refer back to the report, you can find it from the comfort of your Original Post, instead of trawling through 30 pages to hunt it down! Woohoo! More time to go out testing mones, methinks.

I think it’s be too tedious to ask of the more extensive journals on the forum, but it would be nice to see people implement shortcuts when they begin reporting to prevent a future ‘journal trawl’. If you would like to see an example of such an index, please feel free to take a look at my own journal, linked in my signature below.

Thanks for reading!

Awesome! Didn’t know I could make a table of continence! I’m gonna go prevent my journal from getting cluttered!
