First of all, let me start by asking… Is crankiness on of the known side effects of too much Instant Shine?
I’ve been noticing that when I use more than 2 sprays of IS, I start feeling super grumpy. The first time I noticed, I had been in a great mood. Then about an hour before leaving work I sprayed on 1 spray of IS and about 30 minutes later, I started feeling cranky. On the bus home, no one could do anything that wasn’t totally annoying! A couple of hours later I made the correlation, but wasn’t entirely sure.
Since I’m pretty new to Pheromones, I’m still trying them 1 at a time. So I thought Hmm, let me start using ISexB for a week or so. (that’s another story for hopefully some time soon). When I started mixing the 2 up about 2 weeks later, I noticed again the crankiness. What’s more, I noticed that my coworker, a female, was also more quiet than usual. The next morning I thought "HMM, maybe I should lay off the IS today and use only ISex. I spray on 3 to 4 deliberate sprays, look at the bottle… I had accidentally(?) doused myself with Instant Shine.
In a nutshell, it was a long day at work. I was in an okay mood, said good morning to my coworker, actually REPEATED IT! because she clearly had not heard me! Whoops- my mistake. She was just ignoring me. She did not speak a word to me the whole day, which is not unheard of. But the silence was filled with so much tension, I didn’t like it at all. Everyone else seemed pretty normal. I think I must be somewhat sensitive to the effects of IS, while my Coworker is extremely sensitive to it. Won’t be doing that again!
its actually a very odd reaction,
and one that i personally dont hear very often
for one person to get the opposite reaction for which the product was intended isnt crazy,
but for two people in the same room to get the opposite reaction is rare from what i have read in the last few years.
maybe you can trade-out the product.
i hope your having good times with the other products
Let me just repeat what Lor said. Your reaction to IShine was very unusual. Usually - and especially for new users - people feel very happy. In fact they you are usually surrounded by a bubble of happy and often talkative people.
HMMM… which part is most odd? the crankiness from INstant Shine- or the 2 people in the same room reacting negatively to it? I had been looking around the site to see if this stuff made anyone else cranky, but I hadn’t found anything like what I just described.
BTW, what does ‘trade out’ mean? Is that like getting an exchange? If I did, I wouldn’t know what else to get…
These were probably the strongest reactions I’ve gotten with any of the pheromones. Kind of concerns me, I hope the only reaction I get from using pheromones is antipathy!! Once I was in the supermarket and I was wearing a couple of sprays of IS/b and had just refreshed one spray of IS. I got 2 guys give me Deer in Headlight stares. But other than that it has been business as usual for the most part..
in other words,
its very unusual to get cranky from the product that i would say 90% of us get happy and cheerful on (with maybe 10% not getting anything at all).
to have 2 people having a downright negative reaction is equally as odd.
others may not agree,
but i hope the ones that dont can produce posts that we here can refer to so that we can learn from this.
i honestly do not recall any posts with negativity to instant shine
(just posts about being depressed the next day after the initial burst of sunshine until they adjusted to to its use).
now,
if you were to tell me that you used several sprays and then after having alot of fun with it ,
you began to feel cranky or “down” ,
i might think you were getting burned-out on over-use.
your case is very very far from that though.
maybe another member can shine some light on your issue.
Well I’m very new here and haven’t had the pleasure of trying out mine yet, but maybe your co-worker’s reaction wasn’t based on pheromones themselves rather just your crankyness?
If it had the opposite effect on you, perhaps you were giving off a serious don’t mess with me vibe and that’s what she was reacting too?
Just a thought, some people are just really sensitive to others moods and reactions.
Thanks, Redhead. You may be right. My coworker is kind of an odd person. She can be laughing one minute and really aloof the next. She may be picking up on my expectation of her being cranky. All I know is I’m going to take a break from the IS, and take it easy when I use it again.
I’ve personally heard of only one type of reaction, and it wasn’t annoyance or irritation it was depression. However, this woman’s brain chemistry is probably not normal as she was diagnosed as bi-polar.
My first thought was ‘burn out’, but it doesn’t really sound like it. Perhaps you can take a break from it, then try IS out solo when you’re relatively stress free to really see if it’s the IS, or just simply a combination of factors that aren’t related to IS.
How does IS feel when you aren’t at work? Perhaps you’re reacting to having to be at work when you just wanna have fun?
Hey sweet ~
Super late to this (story of my life) but does the smell irritate you at all ? I know some people seem to like to smell of IS but many others seem to pick up something entirely different
Hey Cookie. Don’t feel bad, I’m even later!! Well, when I use IS, it kind of smells a little like pee to me. Nothing so bad to make me stop using it though, just can’t go around sniffing myself. But I’m loving Pink Sugar!!
I have since worn it, and gotten some interesting effects with it. There’s this bus driver that flirts with me sometimes. long story short, he’s married, so for me that’s “hands off!” and going through some “baby-mama-drama” to boot. But I wore a moderate amount of IS the other day (no more than 2 sprays) and he was way getting his flirt on! And I liked it too. Wouldn’t act on it, but hey! He’s super hot!!
So, you seem to be doing better with Shine in a non-work environment. Now you’re getting more positive (what we define as normal) reactions from others and are feeling better wearing it yourself. That’s good. Sometimes it takes a few times (even a whole to-go bottle), of using it in different situations, to get a handle on it.
Then again, I’ve had some mixes that just don’t agree with me and I don’t feel good wearing them no matter how much I’ve tested. I get great results from Shine but I don’t use it much as it makes my head ache. Then there are others who get no self effects and/or they wear off over time.
It just takes time, keep at it, you’re doin’ fine!
Warren had some problems with wearing TAC with TAA and P74, both of which are in Instant Shine. I also had problems with IS, but only at 4 or more sprays. At lower doses, I did fine. I didn’t get cranky, but I got anxious and tense.
Warren reported feeling jittery.
At normal doses, I do fine on IS, feel giggly and lighthearted.
Ohh glad to know I’m not the only one. it’s true about the 4 sprays or more. with 1 or 2 sprays I have been better than good. but it varies, for sure. I have some instant honesty which I want to try using solo for a while. I know it can be self-affecting. Any advice on sweet spots to put it (weird season, still wearing coats a lot…)
Most people do fine with Instant shine, a few don’t. Most people do well with P74, very few react badly to it. Most people do fine with TAA, a very few people have problems with it. I like both P74 and TAA, and IS. But sometimes P74 doesn’t play well with other things, and sometimes TAA doesn’t play well with other things. It usually isn’t a problem, but I do a lot of Putative mix and matching and I’ve noticed this.
You may do just fine on TAA alone, or P74 alone, and it might be the combination of pheromones in the mix that is the problem. Or you may have an issue with a single molecule in the mix.
If you do well on low dose, stick with that and just reapply after 4 or 5 hours. Another option is to spray it on the back of your head, so you don’t get so much self-effect.
Thanks all! I’ll try wearing on the back of my head. Glad I don’t get a headache though. Do you think trying Instant honesty on the back of my head will help reduce self affect? or is there a better place for it.
