so many people swear by IFM but its discontinued or so it seems… so the question is is it like CTTM2 where its basically ih +io = cttm2 … least thats more or less what it seems to me. if so what is the magical combination of sprays to get the equivalent of what used to be available as IFM?
IFM is long gone! and AD never released the formula, so we can’t say what to use as an exact alternative.
However, if you do a thread search, you will find quite a few “IFM Alternatives” threads and there are some very “well-educated” (IYKWIM) suggestions for suitable alternative mixes.
Also, AD got out of using A1 in mixes when they ditched IFM, so you need to go elsewhere for that - So before you do, search-out K-Train’s “A1-Guide” thread, for all the info you will ever need on using, mixing and dosing that one.
Yeah I figured it was gone for good. I just didnt know if it was obsolete or some other reason. If I guess correct, its because of the A1 (androsdienone?) which can cause crash when it wears off. Thats just my noobish guess tho. so what is
(IKRWIM)
Yet another acronym or abbrv with which I am unfamiliar. As for the IFM substitutes anyone know what seems te be the leading contenders?
No, you guess wrong. If you want to search again, you will find any amount of “Why was IFM discontinued” threads - there are very specific reasons that have been seriously done to death, longsince!
I know AD encourage an “any questions are good” policy but some things are IMO better not dragged-up over and over again, every few weeks.
Literally a few seconds with search will answer everything on this subject.
And remember that A1 itself is not an IFM replacement as there were other molecules in there which significantly affected the mix - OTOH, Tisha has posted amongst of the best of the alternative formulas.
Actually I did a search and most threads jut said that it was discontinued with specultion as to why. Maybe there should be a sticky if people keep asking.
the search engine for this site spits out lotsof hits. pretty much anything with a reference to the keywords. may be that I am just not familiar enough with the search features to refine it enough to find what need. Rest assured If I actually ask a question Its usually because I have searched and not found the info I was looking for. Im generally not willingto read 300 threads to find the 1 post I need. I think most would agree with tht sentiment.
also I more or less have to use my tablet to do searches here at the moment which makes navigating the site a bit of a PITA! I am learing. But I do ask for leeway here and there until I know more.
Sorry for inconveniencing you with the same thing so many others have asked. I know answering the same questions time and again can be tedious.
cheers
also I stumbled on what I think is the tisha formula you mentioned. but it links something called est but thats not in the androtics system. Estratetraenol.
Is there a list of reputable sellers people use to get some of the stuff not available from androtics?
Sorry to repeat myself but: If you do as much research as you can before purchasing any pheromone products you are more likely to buy the ones that will have the effects that you seek. There are no direct equilivants of that old product.
Best to look at the available line of products.
Its easy to read all the exited reports of “MX” this and “P” that but these are users that have taken time to research and use products to find what works for them.Or simply over-excited reporting(no offence guys)
Everyone’s chemistry and pyscological make up is unique so what works for one may not work for another. Which is why the tested “commercial” line is the best place to start.
I have been using these products on and off for years and this year I have gone back to using the “commercials”
As Im sure that there is more that I can get out of them.
(apologies for any SP errors I am Dyslexic and it shows sometimes)
Mobocaster is correct. No formula has ever been released for IFM. There was a little more transparency back in the day when Jasmine and Teisha were posting. Jasmine released several formulas during her time. Perhaps in the Brian F age we will have more transparency and less working in the dark.
IFM enhanced the attraction of every mix. I wouldn’t be surprised if it had EST in it. If you want to experiment with EST you can try mixing 2 sprays MX297 with 2 drops of A1 (about 50mcg’s).
Although it has never been revealed, I believe the principal driver in MX297 is EST.
OK then - IFM was discontinued because some people were using very high doses in order to trigger the mildly depressive side effects of A1 in men around them. One of the potential negative effects of A1 is that it can cause short-term downers in a fair number of men. This was considered unethical so M Harris pulled the product. This is also why discussing mixes involving A1 will not count towards your eventual RU status - which is very much worth getting.
More generally, even if you don’t suffer the A1 downers (a specific reaction to the phero - not true depression, goes away when you wash), it is not a good idea to use too much A1 in a mix as it can mute/muffle the effects of the other pheros into pointlessness - a common mistake many people make and similarly with P83. Both are great pheros but its too easy to overuse them to the overall detriment of a mix.
Other products/scents etc have also been pulled due to regulatory changes/source issues etc over the years and there are the inevitable variations in batched/continuously developed products like A314 - We have spent too much time going round in circles with arguments over A314 versions, Game Scent, IFM, stocking policy etc in the last couple of years and its done this board no-good at all. IMO its time to leave some of these in the past and move-on.
Similarly, the patent on A1 in scented products expired a couple of years back, so instead of a very restricted choice of good A1 products, we now have an excellent choice from some quality vendors - Again, a little time spent reading and researching will turn-up the lot.
Its a bit more difficult with the individual components as AD has about the best range of any phero firm but for A1, Lovescent and PheromoneXS are two good and reliable suppliers. However, for other molecules, if they offer them, there is no way to be certain that they are exactly the same or of similar synthesis to those sold by AD.
@kodocha: cohesion is a solid and viable alternative to IFM. As for why it was taken off the market, the most common theories are:
Another company, until recently, held a patent on A1 which is the main ingredient in IFM. AD claimed they were avoiding the legalities of this though it was never enforced on the other companies using it.
A1 can cause depression in men if used in excess. There were some loose rumors going around that someone was using IFM to intentionally cause emotional harm to men. Supposedly these loose rumors of an isolated incident were enough for AD to yank it and never use it again. However the other rumor running around is that AD pissed off their supplier and couldn’t buy from them anymore. Given the trash talking that goes on between some of the other pheromone companies (ad included, sorry guys but its true), I am not surprised.
That said, given AD’s reluctance to release anything into a consumer line product these days, your best bet is to seek other sources if you want to work with A1.
I totally agree thats why I started with the commercial line. The reason I was looking for an Ifm equivalent was because it used to be in the commercial line and so many people seem to swear by it in so many posts. I am aware that ADR doesn’t release their formulas but that doesn’t mean that somebody with access to a GC and or MasSpec haven’t figuered it out and posted a potential mix that’s “really close”
Seems clear to me the poeple at ADR actually want the tests to be more blind. Not only because it’s testing but also so they can protect their formulas. I wholeheartedly support this position. So I doubt we will be seeing more transparency. I f anything I expect the opposite. I just wish some of the things that were available in the past were still available or that people would stop recommending stuff that people can’t get anymore.
Likewise anybody know where quality EST can be gotten reliably?
I don’t mind experimenting and reporting the results of my tests but that having been said vicegrips are good but sometimes you just need that damned allen wrench. If you follow.
And I second Cohesion as a very valid product - esp the oil, as A1 is particularly well-suited and it helps stem quite a bit of the potential negatives.
To be more specific the story was that several women were wearing large doses at clubs just to see the negative effects on men (for kicks). The whole story of why IFM was discontinued is posted somewhere. Search if you want to read it.
M Harris himself noted the negative effects that A1 had when he tested it in the field and concluded that it had no use. The bottom line with A1 is that women like it but it turns men off. With A1 on even though the woman reacts positively to it the A1 is such a turn off that you don’t want to act on or follow up on the situation.
lol. P96 was on the list but they were out of stock. Will likely get some to try in the future tho.
Yeah I searched for why but Im on a tablet so surfing the forums is difficult enough. mose threads just had speculation nothing definite. What you posted makes sense tho.
So thats cool tho. I appreciate the input. I was mainly looking for a sort of IFM equivalent and seems like you guys have pointed me in the right direction.
Yalls have been mega helpful so far. now I just need to get off my rear and post a journal of my exploits so far.
Sweet thats awesome. Ill have to start a list of things that I want to be able to try.
Yeah as long as I can avoid the A1 crash. Tho I really want to test stuff from what ADR has available to all… that way they can actually use the data.
That reminds me I need to go type up a report that they can use. My notes are good and all but they really only make sense to me at the moment. The trick is including the relevant data without boring them to tears.
Start really low with the A1 . Although never released the original IFM was rumoured to have as little as 2.5 mcg per spray.
I got excellent results with it but find that I can now get similar and more steered results using other combinations.
Experiment and enjoy yourself.
Yup - well worth starting very low with A1 standalone. Not only will it help get you used to any possible negative effects but you will learn about it and be able to dose/use it in mixes much better - I was surprised at just how effective it could be in support of my natural signature.
