I'm falling for my ex again, Ladies your advice please?

Ok, so I got some questions that I would like to have answered, especially from women.

If you want to know the background of my situation, you can go here and read it.

Please don’t think bad of me for posting that, ok?

First of all, I want to admit something. I’m starting to fall for my ex again, big time. Which is not good, I want her to fall for me, not me for her. I am wondering if there is something to keep me from not falling for her again.

So, the thing is, after we had sex, she took a quick shower to rinse off. As she was getting ready to leave, she asked, "Is this ok? Should we be doing this? Is this healthy? I mean, we are not together anymore, and it wouldn’t be right to get back into a relationship.

I said, “Well, we are just having fun, right? I like having sex with you, and I don’t really want to look for it somewhere else.” She said, “But you got to be able to move on. What if I start having feelings for you again? What if I start wanting more? As soon as I start having feelings for you, you are going to dump me. Would we stop if I do?”

I didn’t respond right away, I didn’t know what to say, she was right, but at the same time I didn’t want things to change. Then I said, “Well, I dont’ know, we’ll just have to see when the time comes, you’ll let me know right?” She said yes.

After a while when we were getting dressed after a quick rinse, she asked, “I mean, what are we?” I replied back, “We’re just having fun, why can’t we just keep it how it is, nothing serious, but not being just friends?”

She said “Yeah, you’re right, I guess this is alright.”

I called her that night, and we just chatted for a little bit. I asked her if she was cool with our arrangement, she said yeah, she was fine. The next day she didn’t call me at all, I wanted to talk to her, but I wanted her to do it. I know the game, and I know I shouldn’t be the one showing too much interest. So I texted her saying hi, she replied much later. No call though. I didn’t call her throughout the day, but she never called. I was about to go to sleep, and I still wanted her to call me, but she didn’t. So I caved in and called her, we chatted for about 10 minutes and then she said she was tired and she was going to sleep.

I’m still not too familiar with weird female behaviour. What is she doing? Why is she being this way? Not too long ago, she was calling me often. But now, I’m the one doing it. I feel like she is pulling away. Can anyone offer me some answers?

I know, I know, some of you are going to say, “Why do you want her to fall for you when you don’t want to fall for her?” The answer to that is because she is more volatile than me. I already like her enough, but I don’t want to like her more that I would be putting myself in a vulnerable position.

I hate to break this to you but you already are in a vulnerable position. Your saying your dont want to fall for her but your actions show your true feelings. You have fallen for her or you wouldn’t give a crap that she didn’t call and you wouldn’t be wondering how she feels.

You caved and called her and that one call answered all those questions she asked earlier that you didn’t answer.

You asked her to keep it casual, nothing serious, just friends and she did. I dont find her behavior unusual at all.

There is one very important thing you need to remember about “the game”. We invented it and we can play it just as well as the men. All those tactics that men have been using we have been using for centuries. Its when you stop playing games that you find the right person for you.

Oh crap. Well, I know what you’re trying to say, but then, how does she feel? Is she going to want to keep it casual, or does she have interest in me for something more?

My guess is she’s not willing to make herself emotionally vulnerable with you if you’re not going to go there with her, and why should she? After your response to her questions, she probably feels it’s not safe for her to get invested emotionally … I don’t see anything weird in her response. Sounds like she has some self-esteem and is able to articulate her concerns very clearly.

Sometimes pheromones can push things too fast physically, then afterwards we’re like, WTF was that? Once we cool off and aren’t under the influence of phero-driven lust, we may realize oh yeah, that guy isn’t any good for me, even if we just had a great time in bed.

oh, and ditto on everything Tisha said

She told you how she feels, She said “she is afraid she will fall for you again and you will dump her” . If she is afraid that will happen she obviously has feelings for you.

You mention you dont want to put yourself in a vulnerable position by liking her more. As I said you already did but you need to remember in all real relationships there is risk and risk makes you vulnerable. There is no way around that unless you learn to just not feel and you dont want to become that person.

I understand your need to protect yourself and to Display Higher Value but men tend to forget there is a fine line between displaying your value and taking away our worth.

The anwser to this is simple and probably part of the reason she didnt call. Worth, She believes she is worth more then that and she is right. Just like you have the need to protect yourself from vulnerability so does she.

LOL Carrie we posted at the same time.

What she said  ^^^^^

You said " I want her to fall for me, not me for her."

My question is – WHY did you originally want this? I mean, why would you want someone to fall for you if those feelings were not going to be returned? If not for a vindictive reason, or just to revel in having power over them?

Perhaps this is the first question you should answer to yourself, because I think it speaks to you underlying motivations.

Secondly, is there a reason why both of you falling for each other is not a good thing? I mean, was there some serious insurmountable problem or issue or disfunctional component to your relationship that lead to your break-up?

It is difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea of “friends with benefits” but no strings. Certainly, if both parties truly want it, fine. But more often, one person can’t remain emotionally detatched. I know I could not do it.

Wow, you gals are right, I’m such an ass and I didn’t even realize what was wrong with what I had said to her. Thank you so much for the insight, and I guess I shouldn’t try to live in denial, I do love her. I just hope I don’t start becoming less of a challenge to her now. I guess I’m just pissed at her for bringing our situation to how it is now, but I don’t know, maybe we could work something out.

Because her and I always have a power struggle. We are both power hungry and we can’t bring ourselves to be the one that doesn’t have the upper hand. And yes, in a way, I kinda wanted revenge (long story).

Your question is the answer. There is something seriously wrong with both of us (mentally), and I’m afraid that if things get serious then shit will hit the fan again.

So, you just have to decide what controls YOU – your rational side, your heart, or your libido?

Game playing in any type of relationship is such a waste of energy, time and effort. We are here on this planet for such a short period of time, would you not rather live it to the fullest with gusto, flare and a bit of adventure. Games kill respect, affection, trust and love. No one wins. If you both truly love each other and are experiencing these problems seek professional help and work on your personal and inter-related dramas. If it is a destructive situation, walk away and work on yourself. In time you will attract someone compatible that can love and appreciate you as much as you love and appreciate them.

Good luck..All the best!!!.. Siren
