As far as chest and back hair, I have been with those who were naturally almost hairless, and some who were VERY hairy…
As far as the gential area, I’ve been with some who shaved, some who trimmed, and some who were completely natural…
As far as facial hair, some were clean shaven and some were not. I frankly love a neatly trimmed moustache and goatee, but its not a requirement. If the man is more comfortable clean shaven, that is fine with me…well, it is HIS face, after all…
As for myself, I shave and groom the way I am comfortable, and I expect my man to do the same. I woud never presume to request that he change something on HIS body just to suit me (as long as he maintains proper hygiene, I am cool with it). It is his body, and he needs to be comfortable.
Any of the variations in hair never really seemed to matter that much…like Lor said, it is the total package, and differences in body hair is just, to me, one of those things that makes each of us different…and variety IS the spice of life.
Thanks Dolly for that. You really can’t do much to change what your were born with. Korean and Chinese guys don’t have much body hair but doesn’t make them any less virile (over a billion Chinese so something must work). One of my White GF asked if I waxed my legs and was horridified when she found I was el naturale. And, I concur, variety is the spice of life.
As for evolution of the species, we have been slowly losing our body hair (since the ape days) due to natural selection and the use of tools and invention of clothing. If the trend continues, perhaps we’ll be hairless heads and sex organs floating on platters in a million years or so.
orientals are also the most evolved human race because of the slanted eyes (more protection for humans primary sence). but tools and wearing clothing dont contribute to evolution. if someone had less hair because of restrictive clothing it wouldnt effect their genetic data, so if the parent had genes to be a gorilla theyd pass those genes on despite their living conditions. if im genetically predisposed to be as weak as a little girl, i can work out all my life, but chances are my kids will also (naturally) be wimps despite how much muscle ive built.
Ok I am gonna jump in here. I love this forum its so fun.
Facial hair- I dont like beards but stuble can turn me on. You must have 2 eyebrows I really cant stand when someone I meet has the uni-brow( I think thats what its called) its all I can look at and makes me want to get my tweezers out.
Sideburns- Depends on how they look on a man. Dont like them on my husband. I hate when men get short haircuts and let hair grow down there necks because they dont keep it groomed. Again I feel like running for the clippers when I see this. I am starting to think I am to motherly . Now that the kids are older I must work on this.
Back hair is just gross but I like a little chest hair (not a forest)
Ear and nose hair yuck get rid of it.
Groin hair I can go either way but if you have it, keep in nicely trimmed.
I really go wild for the that V of hair that travels down from a mans belly button towards his package. I think it is so sexy.
For myself I shave or wax down there in summer and let it grow in winter but still keep it very trimmed. I think its unattractive on a girl during bathing suit season to have this big puff sticking out front. Of course the motherly instinct kicks in but I control myself I always keep my legs and pits shaved, its like clean underware I could have an accident or something and what would the doctor think LOL
I just wanted to say this, because no one has yet. We are all different. And our likes and dislikes are going to be as varied as the colors in the rainbow. I think that the one thing that could be concluded by reading the different answers from all of the gals who responded, is that there is no single standard by which women find men attractive. There is no right or wrong when it comes to body hair. Guys, if you feel absolutely comfortable wearing a beard, then wear it! There is a chick out there for you somewhere who just goes bonkers over facial hair.
Variety is the spice of life. We can’t be attracted to everyone around us. We all like different things. This is one of the many factors that makes each of unique individuals. Some women go wild for dark-haired men, but does that mean that all blondes are ugly and unattractive(or god forbid, geneticly weak?) No absolutely not!
Hair, no hair, more hair, less hair, hairless, or hairy, all of you guys are gorgeous! The most attractive person is the one who feels comfortable in their own skin.
I am not going to change my description of what I am attracted to in a man, by the way of facial hair. Actually, what I listed is a perfect description of my fiance. What a shocker there! I have dated a variety of different men in the past that have varied wildly from my current list of body hair preferences. But what I like now is what I like, and that does not mean that everyone else is unattractive.
There is no one single body hair standard that all women are attracted to. All of you guys are awesome. Do what feels best for you. And by all means, do not become offended if you do not measure up to every women’s lists here, there is no way that you can. Speaking for myself, what I like changes with my mood, the season, and the time of the day. Don’t take this stuff too seriously.
My age is obviously way over 20’s but the preference was the same then:
~ Face: shave
Not a fan of gotee but if your face is long it’ll help to balance the look.
5 o’clock shadow is ok if you have a chiseled face. Not bad if you have a round face either - the darken sides can shape your face.
No facial hair if you have oily face… it’ll just make it look more unfresh (is that a word??). But if you have a long and oily face then a trimmed gotee might work.
~ Nose, eyebrows: trim
~ Chest/belly: shave but watch for stubbles especially on the belly area - make it smooth for your gf to cuddle up to
~ Back: shave
~ Back of the neck & shoulders: shave
~ Upper arms: shave
~ Lower arms: depends on the type of hair, stringy/wirey aren’t good so shave 'em. Hair with the same growth direction is good to have (kind of Teddy Bear thing) especially if you have strong arms and hands.
~ Groin: trim better yet shave - watch for stubbles (not gonna give you reasons for this, keeping forum G rated )
~ Lower legs (calves etc): either is fine
True. However In East Asia there is a strong tendancy for men to select less hairy women as mates (not sure about the rest of the world). This process of natural selection results in the propagation of favorable traits. These individuals with favorable traits are more likely to survive and reproduce than those with unfavorable traits. Whatever the reason, none of my sisters have anything to shave on legs or pits. I barely have any hairs in the same places. I can swim faster tham most of my hairy friends…
Now that’s plain silly. We do have larger brains on average than other races. Not sure if that serves any purpose since we only use a couple percent of it!
Incidentally we prefer to be called Asians. Calling an Asian an Oriental is a historical throwback to the colonial days–sorta like calling a Black man a Negro.
Can I add? There are some in the “Asian” group who feel a little funny if called Asians because they’re closer to the Polynesian/Pacific Islander group but maybe not as tan. Their eyes are shaped like an “up side down moon” (that a scientific term?) vs. slanted that we see mostly with the lighter/cream Asians (the real Asians?).
Then there are those with mixed parents or just born (plain lucky) exotic. And we’re thinking.. hmmm… can’t guess
So far in my own life, I’ve discovered this: no matter what happens to be the passing fad of political correctness concerning ethnic and racial labels, labels are still just that – generalizations.
Gegogi, in my experience, it’s much more effective when someone says “I prefer to be called nnn” than when someone says “We prefer to be called nnns.” In the first case, you have an undeniably authentic personal statement of self-knowledge; in the second case, you have an unsubstantiated opinion. (My first thought upon reading “Incidentally, we prefer to be called Asians …” was “Oh really? Was there an actual vote on this by all Asians, or just some market research? And what were the objective merits of the survey structure?” All right – I’m often a skeptic and sometimes a smartass, these thoughts come unbidden!)
There are so few times when generalizations based on race or ethnicity are valid, that anytime I see a racial or ethnic label, my mind automatically goes into “trace mode” to hunt down the fallacy being expressed or inferred.
And mostly, I found that almost no one truly prefers being called “swedish” or “asian” or “hoosier” – they prefer “jim” or “anna” or “sandy” or “pat”.
Markus you have no knowledge of exactly whom “We” refers to. The Nation of Islam? Korean Town? The urban Honolulu population? Do I speak for all Asians? Of course not. I can only speak for myself and my colleagues, friends and family. I can tell you “Oriental” is avoided like the plague in journalism and academia. Here the American Heritage Dictionary (4th Ed.), a better authority than me, spells it out:
Yes, Mark you are obviously intelligent enough to understand I was not preferring to an individual’s preference to be called according to his or her given name. I was merely informing a prior poster that I, and most Asians I know, and most of my friends and associates are Asian, view the label “Oriental” with disdain due to its colonial and “exotic” associations. They’re not fightin’ words but demonstrates insensitivity.
And Calian, officially Asian refers to any race or nationality those ancestral homeland is Asia. So that includes not only East Asians such Koreans and Japanese, but also Thai, Indians, Filipinos, etc. Obvious Indians and Chinese belong to separate races but are both Asians. As for the “up side down moon” eyes and almond shaped eyes, I find those to be the most beautiful eyes in the world. If that’s you in your Avatar–not the puppy of course–you appear to have the up side down moon" eyes. Koreans and Japanese are supporting the world’s plastic surgeons by demanding eyes like yours.
Hmm, that doesn’t leave much to be hairless. A perfectly waxed torso but furry arms, legs and pits. An endearing image of pure lust…
By the way one, yes, that’s me with the dog. Two, my “race group” is on the Indo-Malay-Phillipines side. If we’re all in the fruit aisle, some people are apples (can’t think of any pink fruit on the outside this time of night), some would be bananas… so I’m a kiwi . All are fruit, it’s all good!
Hairless or not, I think it boils down to grooming the face & body. Women have to go through all that when they construct their faces with lipstics, make up etc, shave their legs etc. to name a few. Men would look and are felt better if they’re trimmed in my unsolicited opinion. Not fun crawling through wild grass and bushes just to come close to the target (err.. prey?) you know
well I’m asian too, so completely hairless is just fine as well. I’m not a big fan of hairy chests in general, and most of the men in my particular subculture tend to wax or shave all bodyhair off anyway, because it gets in the way of muscle definition. So it’s all in what you are used to.
This assumes that we were all evolving toward the same thing as a race before we started to intermingle as much as we are (mixed race people are starting to grow quickly as a population)
I plan to have all my body hair lasered off once I have the money for it…except my leg and arm hair, of course. Body hair just bothers me in general, and if the women approve of the change, then it’s a bonus for me.
