I disagree with OA on this one, which hasn’t happened in quite a while
. If you have an alcohol BASED product and add it to DPG you still have an alcohol Based product, but now with DPG mixed in. Mincing words? Maybe but the effects would still be vastly different, especially with consumer lines. If you have one molecule at a certain mcg then you would at least know what concentrate you have. With mixes you can’t do that.
Also if you take MX777 and add it to a bottle and then add 90% DPG then by this calculation you’d have 10/100th a spray of MX777 per every one spray of the solution.
You can have DPG scented if you choose but perfumers and the likes use it because it is unscented and certain other variables that make it appealing. I encourage a Google search on it. There have been some other recent oils that have come about in the perfuming industry lately too. One of these is silicone based oils which comes in several forms, three of which I am familiar with Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone and Botanisil. The theory is that the silicone is a bigger molecule that still bonds with the pheromones, but does NOT allow penetration into the skin. I heard this from a couple other mones producers, but have not been able to independently confirm these statements. Of course you should do the research and discover for yourself what works best.
Mostly soap making companies are selling those along with DPG now so it is evidenced by their sales there is some interest in them. Of course sales do not translate to fact
. I was introduced to these soap companies by my in law and as such get some very interesting and unique EO’s and the likes there. Androtics sells pipettes so I highly recommend you get them here
I remember when making a mix once I had our former formulator April tell me, when I requested 10X ICM, say that it would take a ridiculous amount of alcohol to titrate it and I was virtually ensuring failure. She explained it me in her most sisterly to dumb big brother way that she could. LOL, that’s why I can’t actually explain it back to you
.
Of course then there’s the point of having those reports voided for RU status. Dillute the product lose the value of the feedback. To us anyway and this coming year there will be BIG changes to RU status for many, many people.
A314 can be changed with alcohol. Its oil base so if you add alcohol, whether on skin which I really do hope that’s what you are asking, or elsewhere
, than yes, you have dramatically impacted the product. Think of it this way. A314 is an ice cream and you put it into boiling water. Do you still have Ice Cream? All the ingredients are there right? But it’s not A314 anymore.
Hope that covers everything
