New Oriental Pheromone Cologne?

How would you guys like a new oriental pheromone cologne, with pheromones by us and the fragrance portion designed by one of the world’s top perfumers?

The word oriental, in the fragrance, basically boils down to intoxicating & sexy. That’s “Orientals for Dummies” in a nutshell.

Generally, orientals are on the heavier side of things… it brings to mind French sexbombs, like Body Kouros.

I have a fragrance I’ve liked for a few years that I could bring to market. It’s deep, dark and sexy. Animalistic.

If you want something like this, I’ll go ahead and bring it out.

Suggestions for the pheromone content are welcome.

I could make it minimalistic so you could use it as a cover for your own pheromone mixes (say Openness + Shine based).

I could also make it more “all in one” – incorporating A314, Turn Up The Heat (with modifications inspired by The Great Androstenone Experiment), Openness, Shine, Honesty, and even maybe some of the T(est) series pheromones.

Your input appreciated.

So it would be a bit like Ammunition? Sounds interesting, although I don’t know enought about colognes to know what you are talking about when describing the scent…

I know I kinda like the scent of Scent of Eros, Chikara, although it is a bit “light” and I notice some people plain don’t like those scents (I think of them as “Summer season”). I also kinda like Pheros (from DST), but as a “winter” or “serious” scent. Where do you put this “oriental?”

A a314 combo with TUTH or Ammo might be interesting. And I’m a big fan of reducing having to apply 6 different products down to one or two…

I could see TAA/IShine, maybe IH over IO for more “intensity” and “depth,” the a314 for the “masculine” element. TAF? PMX101?

Would this be a spray or “dropper” application item?

I’m intregued.

From your description of oriental scents, TUTH or a dash of -none seems to be in order. Or perhaps toss in a mix of promising (such as p74, p75, and/or p78  ) putatives.

If the fragrance is up to par with Ammunition, I’d check it out. Based on your description of the fragrance, I’d say the phero content should also be sexy and animalistic. I say A314 base with a hint of none.

It’s similar behind the scenes… in that it’s a department store quality cologne whereby we cooperate with one of the world’s biggest fragrance design houses.

Specialists working together often have a good result.

Also, you get a cost advantage (with Ammunition, anyway.)

While we’re using the same fragrance design & ingredients you’d find in a $65 to $100 cologne, we’re not charging that because you’re buying direct. That’s why you get more of a Scentiments.com-like price on something like Ammo. (of course, if we sold through retail channels, the prices would have to be adjusted to account for all of the middle men)

I’m not sure if we can do the same cost efficiencies with a new cologne or not. Depends on the pheromone blend. The simpler it is, the lower I can keep it. (I could also offer the fragrance as an option for the ExperiMone line)

Also, I think the marketing will be a little less “goofy” and accessible like it is with Ammo. It smells more upmarket, so the name and overall allure will probably adjust accordingly.

That’s why I was thinking of basing it on A314 (Sexy & Romantic) + Openness (Fun) + Shine (Magnetic) + Honesty (Intimate) with a dash of danger (TUTH).

I can’t remember what it smells like whatsoever. In fact, I don’t think I even like it… but a classic oriental is Obsession.

I like putting it on my wrists.

No, seriously, out of those, it smells nothing like SOE (which is just the muscone molecule, isn’t it?).

It’s far more like a cross between Chikara and Pheros. Sexy and darker than Chikara, like Pheros, but less complex, of course. On the other hand, it’s far more diffusive than Pheros.

To me, Pheros is the ultimate cologne with which to ask women to sniff you. They probably won’t be able to smell it unless you ask them, and when they do come hither to smell it, oh boy, won’t they be delighted.

I’d still tread fairly lightly with the androstenone – probably no more than Ammo strength. (A rare fellow, here or there, actually ODs on the amount of -none in A314!)

There’s no real harm including good amounts of the other pheromones, however.

Most people love Shine, so it’s very possible. Then again, there’s a few mature users here who said Shine made them too flighty.

IH will definitely add depth, and I think it’s a good choice. I don’t think it should be overwhelming, but definitely a pheromonal note you can feel.

IO is friendly, giggly, a little spacey, and as Tacitus points out, even romantic (especially when you steer it in that direction intentionally).

A314 is masculine, ideal, trustable, and romantic, or what one person here has called “crushy”. It can also steer IO toward the romantic. I just wouldn’t want to use so much that it puts you on a pedestal, as large A314 doses tend to do. I would want a more accessible romance.

For this scent, I’d want women to swoon into your arms, and not feel a total disconnect… think you’re just far too good for them.

That’s where Shine can come in again. Shine will definitely put women in your arms, even in a nonsexual way. There’s something about it’s effect that makes people crowd you / invade your space / bump into you / fall over you. In a good romantic mix, the proper amount would work wonders.

And back to IH, which not only makes peple more candid and honest… but sort of has a feeling of “eternity” attached to it. You can make fast friends (and with proper “game”, lover) with Instant Honesty.

When you meet someone, and you feel like you’ve known them forever… that’s often romantic. It’s part of many beautiful love stories. A sense of shared eternity can even make you feel like soul mates. In this way, I think IH can really power up an already romantic mix, taking it to a new level.

With that in mind, there should probably be enough Shine for it’s magnetic effect, but not so much that it removes the depth of the the overall mix (unless we do want something to counter it’s intensity).

All new products are sprays based.

This one actually has to be… almost no perfumers formulate for oil stock.

This cologne is actually highly diffusive. It may be even more diffusive than the Neroli blend (because we asked for the Neroli to be very “covert”). That has to be kept in mind. Large doses of some pheromones in such a product would be too powerful.

Yes, some -none is definitely in order. It’s a question of how much. (of course, if A314 or even plain rone is incorporated, that will help to temper the -none)

Which brings up another issue… A314 tempering the -none too much. I’ve actually been designing a “Great A314 Experiment” recently with different spray versions of A314, to see if we can make a variation that’s a little more crushy, and a little less serious.

I’ve traditionally been against incorporating any molecules which aren’t very well studied (i.e., the putatives)… In fact, I usually like to see at least 2 years of data on them. However, I’ve been reminded recently that life is really short, and you’ve got to make with as much deftness as possible.

The only real risk in life, is leading one that’s boring and/or unfullfilling.

For this reason, I’ll strongly consider your suggestion about the putatives.

From how we’ve been discussing this so far (reference my reply to Rbt, if you would), which putative(s) would you want to be considered for incorporation?

Yes, it’s from the same general design outfit as Ammo (and many famous colognes, like Drakkar Noir), but it’s a different perfumer entirely. As an oriental, it also smells completely different.

Ammo is a very clean scent in comparison – the kind of thing that gets women hot because, damnit, you showered… (you probably don’t even stop to consider this, but I’ve interviewed many women about what makes them attracted scent-wise, and the scent of HYGIENE really IS a sort of aphrodisiac for them! especially on younger men, since they tend have questionable hygienic practices)

This one is one is much more suave and sophisticated. That’s why I was thinking it would be better for romance with a dash of danger and adventure, rather than an all out dirty androstenone assault. (I think such a -none assault might better pair with a fresher scent)

Hey, well there you go. Looks like you agree with the above. That’s what I get for not reading ahead.

I would love an oriental scent for women. That is my favorite type of perfume.

Which ones do you like?

I believe it. I once asked a female friend of mine which cologne she thought smelled most attractive so I’d know what to look for, and she told me that she didn’t like the smell of cologne. In her words she likes “the clean smell. Like fresh out of the shower.”

Any ideas why? Maybe its a product of social conditioning. We live in a clean society after all, and good hygiene and a clean appearance are usually indicators of class, wealth, and status (which women are attracted to btw) Just a thought.

Exactly, and this again, is mostly for young men.

It’s because young men are famous for being less than hygienic.

If you want me to be explicit, it’s because they don’t wipe their asses thoroughly, change their underwear enough, that kind of thing. That’s a major complaint women have about younger men.

I mean, think about it. There’s nothing less hygienic than a baby. Now, now there’s 20 year old men out there, who, quite frankly, aren’t much better. Visit a college, and you’ll see what I mean.

With age, there tends to be daily changing of the underwear, daily showering, and the ability to hit all the right places with soap and water. Hygiene is assumed.

That’s why older men can get away wearing sexier colognes that don’t smell clean, but it’s almost ESSENTIAL for a young thing to wear a cologne that smell like nothing more than a riff off of deodorant.

That’s all Cool Water is, after all, the expensive juice you get when you run deodorant through a juicer.

Again, to be explicit (and some might say vulgar) about this, a nice deodorant like cologne says to a woman “Hey… maybe this one doesn’t have skid marks”.

Disgusting, but true.

Eavesdrop on the conversations of women talking amongst themselves sometime, and you’ll hear stuff like this. Even the hint of skidmarks breaks the romantic mood, you see, and when you smell bad, you’re doing more than hinting!

Women might love babies, but, in all honesty they’d prefer not to get intimate with someone who should by all rights be wearing a diaper.

A spray a314 would SO rock!

Hmm . . . I was actually 1/2 joking about tossing in the putatives. After thinking about this a bit more I would like to have these putatives with your upcoming oriental fragarence:

Mix of p74 and p75 - p75 has a very strong sense of “magnetisim” with the opposite (female) sex. Couple that with the very strong boyfriendish connection/empathy that p74 seems evoke, and you may have a very powerful mix. Of course arriving at the perfect ratio of the two (provided that the two are compatable at all), needs to be worked out (I’m thinking of working with mixes of the two after I get done with p79.)

p75 - Alone it has a very -none/A1 qualities to it.

p78 - This one seems to have some of the magnetisim of p75 and some of the empathy of p74 coupled with the openess of -nol.

p76 - I think you mentioned that this and p75 are very -none like. Unfortunately I have yet to stumble on the sweet spot for the dosage for this. I’m thinking that it may be on the low side.

Wow, this sounds really interesting.

I am not well enough versed with perfumery to understand what an “oriental” scent is, but the way you describe it, MHarris, is very appealing.

I’d like to see this. I’d like to see it incorporate AA314, IO, IH, IS, IFM, TUTH. I don’t know enough about the putatives or experimones to suggest those.

The fragrance I wear most often is Rapture from Victorias Secret. It is so warm and sensual. It almost becomes a ‘part’ of me after a couple of hours. Occasionally I wear Opium. I also sometimes wear an arabic perfume called Amber Oudh. This also a very warm scent.

This type of fragrance on a man(oriental) tends to drive me wild. I just love that warm, earthy scent that blends so well with your natural scent signature.

Offering an oriental to add in with the putatives for the women also, would be great. I think I would prefer that over the neroli musk, which seems more masculine to me.

Victoria’s Secret is on their game when it comes to fragrances. Their ‘Very Sexy’ for him line is great

So that’s the secret behind the appeal of Axe. At 46 years old, I’ve tried a couple of different versions of the stuff and have decided it must be more for “twenty somethings.” It just didn’t move me at all.

An Oriental fragranced and pheromone based combo cologne that smells like a sex bomb? There can only be one name for this treasure…

And that name should be “Kapowasaki”!

Seconding an oriental fragrance for women - I am all over them - and ANYTHING Chypre-based.

Faves:

Vivienne Westwood’s Boudoir - My fave - ever. Classified as a “Modern Oriental.” Smells according to “The man” like bottled sex. Enough said, I think…
Shiseido’s Feminite Du Bois
Guerlain’s Samsara
Givenchy’s Organza Indecence (NOT original Organza - it’s YEUGH>.>)
Chopard’s Casmir
Chopard’s Mira Bai
Chopard’s Madness
La Perla - La Perla original
La Perla - IO (Hah! it’s called that truly, but the wee sign thingy for Instant openness is popping up - how funny!)
CSP (Comptoir Sud Pacifique) Vanille Cannelle
Star Boutique - Pumpkin Martini (Note: ANYTHING I wear as a fragrance with the Pumpkin Pie note in it sets “The Man” berserk with intent…oh YEAH!)
Star Boutique - Vanilla Martini (ditto to anything vanilla)
Alexander McQueen’s Kingdom - also bottled sex.

That’s my fave orientals. I have over 130 fragrances, and LOVE perfume, so if you need input on any other genres, I’ll be more than happy to help.

Ail

I know you can, so … will most of yous that have a good edumacation/experience in the putatives and the mones outside the basic such as A314, IS, IO, IH do a SEPARATE POST on what those mones are suppose to do … like Swinger did with those listed above? :o T’would be so niiiiiiiiiiiice of yous! :stuck_out_tongue:

OR the BOSS can break’em down like the basics are broken down … A314 gives a vibe of authority … IS makes you feeeeeeeeel goooooood, etc. etc.

Just a thought. And a good thought at that, 'cause I’m not the ONLY ONE out of the KNOW! I thought the me-esto or whatever you call it was MASTER in French!

Thanks, Swinger!
