I have a couple of questions about the Oust diffuser
Does the Oust room diffuser run the pheromones through the wick in the bottle?
I was thinking about trying the Febreeze Scent stories machine with mones. I seem to remember they used something like that in CSI Miami. You could use several different mones in order.
How do the mones react to being heated like that ?
I only know the Oust “D-Cell” diffusor. The pheomones are loaded into a regular standard (emptied and cleaned) Oust scent bottle & wick unit.
I have been experimenting with non-Oust refills, and althought the “wicks” are shorter, and they were designed for a warmer… they kinda work, so you may be able to find alternate bottle/wick units for Do-It-Yourself projects. Diffusion isn’t as strong/great as the wicks are shorter, but that may be better if you want long-term low-level amounts in the air.
Speculation: As for heating pheromones, it may depend on how “warm” the diffusor gets. Many feel that pheromones are at thier best diffusion-wise anyway when applied to human skin that naturally warms them, generally claiming better diffusion, but maybe there is a change in the way the pheromones work if they are warmed too?? Maybe, maybe not. I have heard of some users using one of those “sit on top of a light bulb” type ceramic diffusiors which probably can get things more hot than just warm, but I’ve not heard any reports of results.
(Note that Androtics has ben offering variations in the carriers used in some of their products based on a “warm/hot/humid” environment vs. a “cool/cold/dry” environment. As I understand it, this is for the sake of diffusion only as there is no change in the actual pheromone “formula.”)
Anyone know if the Androtics uses an Oil based carrier or an Alcohol based carrier with their diffuser?
On the Oust topic:
I have been trying to clean out one of the original bottles and wick. I get a headache from the original stuff and want to use my own.
How do you guys at Andronics clean the wick?
I have been running pure alcohol through it a couple of times, but the original scent is still very strong…
Rbt, alcohol base certainly works. Some light oils may work I guess. Just try… That is, if you are more successul at cleaning the wick than I have been so far.
I hope for some input from the pro’s?

I found a car air freshener based on an Oust difuser configuration. There was a small bottle of scented oil and a fan that was turned by the air from the car heater ducts. All the components were packaged separately including the wick. It was pretty cheap, $2 maybe. I don’t know if you could find something like that in Europe but it was at Walmart (Canada or US I don’t remember).

I now have received the diffuser set from Androtics.
Oh well. There is lots of the original Oust scent left in those bottles and wicks. -> Headache 
I guess I will get an Aromastream diffuser and just apply the normal pheromones (even though they are not so concentrated and will evaporate very quickly). The original Oust scent (and what remains in the refilled bottles) is just too strong and I am pretty sure that many people would complain about the scent in the room…
Umm..there is NO original Oust product “left” at all in the Androtics diffuser set..
That is only the Androtics scent additive you are detecting.
I use IH x2 or x4 through the Oust fan when I have people over, all the time. Great when you REALLY want to hear them spill their collective guts..

Would you agree that it smells similar to the Oust scent? I just have all bottles in front of me and carefully compared (oh, the pheromones are really concentrated, by head is spinning…). The Androtics bottles smell less intense and somewhat less “sharp”, but it smells like a similar scent to me. So did they really go through all the trouble of cleaning the wicks from the original stuff (which I find is a problem) just to replace the scent with a scent which is so similar to the original? My idea was that they left the original residue in there to mix with the pheromones. But it would be great if I was wrong. I only wish the scent was less intense, in any case. And I will to the headache test soon!
I got the three bottles from Androtics. I understand that they contain the three products in a very concentrated form and, obviously, with a different scent than the sprays. What kind of “Instant Honesty 4x” are you using in your Oust fan? Something else? Where can you order a 4x stength?

About a month ago they offered an upgrade of all X2 strengths to X4, and since IH is a fave of mine, I got the upgrade.
I have it in both the neroli additive (yep, smells quite like Oust’s stupidly named “Outdoors” scent, and also Chocolatini, which is much more of a female additive if you are using it in the pheromone products per-se, but is very agreeable if wafting into a room through the fan.
Just use the order box to say what you want, and to clear costs etc. beforehand so you know what any extras will cost you, drop a PM to Jasmin, and she will get you looked after, no problem.
I’m now an expert at refilling my Androtics Oust bottles, and have tried ohhh..LOADS of the experimones wafting through, and this weekend, I am going to have P83 going through it.
Will report on that on Monday.
