Phero Podcast - Interviews w/Tisha, Catlord, and Steve Oh MY!!!

It seems to me that the organization of this forum is a bit too scattered, and with a couple of minor improvements, could provide real substantial information about the products/mones. There is a bit too much amateur opinion mixing with years of experience. I want to be very clear : it’s not that the forum is entirely ineffective in its delivery of information, it can be very useful, but parts of it need to be condensed into a separate area for those not wishing to have to hash though everyone’s “reports” to get valuable information.

For instance : there are several people (Tisha, Steve, Catlord, Jasmin, etc) on the boards who have 1000s of hours (or more) of experience with the products, and are an invaluable resource for those looking for ways to use the products most effectively. I would rather get Tisha’s or Steve’s rundown of a product, than some person with a few posts and little/no experience. This is where it feels like AD is not quite ready for prime time.

I think one of the issues that astounds newbies when they find the forum, is that AD is selling products whose effectiveness can border on the unbelievable (PS-A314-IJ-etc), and yet, they don’t have a clear coherent breakdown of all of the major products. I understand that we have brief overviews, but what about a full report on each of the major products from each of the major contributors (mentioned above). The PUA community did this by interviewing (with the same questions) each of the major PUA coaches/gurus, and seeing everyone’ perspective side-by-side was an incredibly valuable learning tool unmatched by other outlets of info.

Perhaps it’s time to create a separate forum for “testers”. Having to trudge through all of the “introductions” and dozens of reports each day seems to be a bit much if your not a fanatic about pheromones.

There is an enormous amount of valuable info. on this board, but most of the baord is taken up with people asking the same questions over and over again, that could have been solved with a thorough FAQ/interviews on each of the products.

I’ve seen some incredible results from the major product line, not to mention some of the mxs (i’m looking at you PS), but the delivery system for this information has to be streamlined in some way for it to be effective. Even something as simple as an interview series (can you imagine audio?) or a podcast would change the forum overnight!

Here are a few ideas :

Separate “Testers” Section - let the verified testers keep from being mixed in with someone who just tried IS or A314 for the first time. If you want to read everything, hit the NEW tab, and have at it!

True Product Overview (outline of effects, hundreds of hand-picked personal examples, mixing suggestions, application guide, FAQ, OD info, how to use for_______, etc.-and can be updated regularly)

Interviews-with the most experienced/knowledgeable users (listed above)-can you imagine what you could learn in a two hour interview with Tisha, Steve, or Catlord!!!

Podcast(weekly) - you could include everything from new releases, to product history, personal stories, mixing ideas, listener questions, etc—this could be amazing!!!

FAQ (massive-with search capability) - after reading this you will have 75% of the questions on this board answered

I would be happy to contribute to the creation/upkeep of any of these.

As always, thanks to AD for their products and service.

I appreciate your time.

Well first I’ve read from several of the more experienced users here and from members of the AD staff that the putatives and MX’s are molecules and combinations of molecules that are basically still theoretical and in the “possible” development stages. Users are encouraged to go in blind with as little preconceived notions or expectations as possible to avoid the resulting reports being contaminated by placebo effect. For AD’s more experienced users and staff members to instruct newbies on what putatives and MX’s to use would be counter productive to the research aspect of what’s being done here.

As far as the instant/consumer line goes, the product descriptions on the web store are pretty darn accurate. And it doesn’t take long at all for somebody new to figure out who the more experienced people here are.
Now while I would personally LOVE to pick the brains of somebody like Steve or Catlord I’d much prefer them to just keep experimenting and coming up with some new products for people to try. Even then, look at their post counts, they ARE active enough on the forum that their knowledge, wisdom and experience IS already benefiting users.

Now I DO think that a great many of the stickies in the various forums can be consolidated into a FAQ’s section that can answer all the most basic of questions that a person new to pheromones or AD might have.

I get your point about going in blind (an absolute necessity on less experienced molecules), but where does it end? If this is truly science and not just snake oil, then there should be a clear consensus about what certain products can do after a certain period of testing. We have this; I’m just asking for a more complete delivery of this knowledge (referring to standard product line).

Don’t get me wrong, I can give dozens of examples from the more experienced users that I think are just the placebo effect, but overall, their knowledge is very valuable.

“Now while I would personally LOVE to pick the brains of somebody like Steve or Catlord I’d much prefer them to just keep experimenting and coming up with some new products for people to try.”-----Why can’t they do both? An interview for one hour every month or two, not exactly a part time job.

And yes, they are benefiting others; but it’s too scattered. Science works effectively because of organization. Can you imagine if every science journal had articles from anyone with any level of experience (thus not pier reviewed)? It would be chaos.

Perhaps becoming a tester should be a thoroughly vetted process (that can be revoked).

Perhaps having the testers pay for the products is a conflict of interest.

I like the spirit of the argument for everyone testing the products freely, but in reality, it may not be the most effective way to see results. Then again, perhaps quantity over quality, in this case, is a more practical means of testing. It just seems a bit too rough for good science.

So you want to limit whose allowed to post a report? I can’t even count the number of times that I’ve been inspired to try a new mix because I see mention of it by a newer member. I’ve been around here for a little while, and I don’t consider myself an expert by any means, but I certainly know a thing or two about pheromones. If they restricted who was allowed to report, you would end up with only a handful of people posting. Also, by letting everyone, new and old, report on their experiences, we are enabled to grow as a community by seeing how others have used these products and to what avail.

You want “testers” to get free products? That’s asking androtics to go out of business. These things aren’t cheap and they already take an initial hit by giving out $25 gift certificates to new users, without requiring any further commitment from them once they receive their products. Not to mention reporting users already get a substantial discount on products.

While this is a pheromone research forum, limiting who can perform this research will only hinder not only androtics, but also the entire pheromone community.

Let me be clear:

I’m not saying that AD should “do” anything. I’m simply thinking out loud about the scattered delivery of the information via the forum, and presenting new ideas for testing products.

As for putting AD out of business, companies pay for R&D every day. Would you be willing to pay an extra 25% for the products, if you knew that there was a set of more “precise” tests. I, for one, would be happy with that. But, again, I’m not saying that this is the answer, just an idea for a more precise way of testing products. Another way would be to provide a certain % rebate for fully completed testing report filled out by an individual. This would also help to keep people from buying products that they don’t really have a use for.

My point was that testing is only really useful if we have a certain amount of information, and too many incomplete reports mixed with the very thorough reports, just seems a bit chaotic. As for limiting the testers : why not also allow anyone who can afford it, to buy any product that they want. If they want to test it on their dime, go ahead. I would happily pay to properly test some of the rare mxs, if they were made available.

They know what their doing. Its great marketing, once people test and get hooked they come back for more. Its for all the skeptics who are looking to try it out.

Why not make a WIKI!?
that would be extremely valuable..
Anyone here (or people w/permission/certain # of posts) will be able to edit the wiki, and we can have a page for each product with -intended use -self effects -“mixes well with..”, etc..this way instead of searching through old posts for info, we can take the best posts, and condense them down into one info page per product

i think a wiki is the best way to go..

Excellent idea!!!

Its been recommended before. While I have no opposition to such an idea I don’t think it fosters a good methodology and basically promotes following and doing what people have done before them which only compromises the innovation/ creativity/ and ground work for truly enlightening knowledge on dosage/ pheromone contraindication/ objective pheromonal effects/ and mixes.

Individuality which is the most profound thing I’ve found on this forum pheromone wise has just shown me that there is no right or wrong way to do anything and basically everybody on here is a little Aristotle combined with that wonderful Thomas Edison genius. What I’m trying to infer is that by having a easy access encyclopedia to refer to we are simply making ourselves close minded as to the possibilities of what we have before us. I always believe that everyone should have a path that they follow solely of their own accord and just because the 1000 people before them did it this way doesn’t mean we should simply conform to their method. To continually test ourselves and breach what we know to dive into the unknown with eagerness. Thats what I think life is made of.

damn I thought that was already a thing from the title I got so excited…

Enough excitement can make this happen!!!

Heh,

We were developing a phero podcast about a year and a half ago, which was initially awesome, but it took so much attention away from our “day jobs”, like doing customer service, making mixes, and some of our research. Gahhh!! It’s SUCH a cool idea, though. I wish we had the resources right now to do it!

Its not a totally bad ideal and I understand where your coming from.

I remember listening to Steve’s first test podcast. It is a cool idea with many pro’s and cons. But it is, I am sure time consuming. Maybe a podcast on the basics but to tell you the truth if I was interviewed and asked something like what does P75 do I would be hesitant to answer you. Not because I dont know but because I can only tell you what it does for me and what it will likely do for you. In doing that I influence your reaction when you test it.

Thats just the point, what is scattered to you makes perfect sense to me.

The forum and the information in it may seem to scattered and confusing to you but thats why its effective for testing. Makes it harder for you to have a clear notion as to what the product is doing. I dont find it scattered at all myself. I know just how to find what I am looking for.

As far as I know Androtics is not looking to test in the classic scientific setting. Those tests tend to fail in real world situations. Androtics is not a huge organization that gets funding for scientific testing from grants and such. The consumer products have to fund the research and they charge the lowest possible cost for the advanced to the reporting users. If your not a reporting user then you pay more. I never agreed with that decision because thats when reporting became fueled by the cost and not by the accuracy. But hey its their store so who am I to say how they should conduct there business.

If you create a wiki then you plant a seed. People see it and think OK this is what it does and they tend to not notice the other effects that are occurring. Its a good ideal for the consumer maybe but not for the research being done.

Yes in the forum you have newbies and experienced members reporting. A lot of redundant questioning. But I have learned much from the new people as well as the experienced ones. After a while you see patterns in people as well as the products. I would not discount any of the reports made by new people because we were all new once. I dont take any reports at face value either. I get the molecule and see what it does for me. Some I like some I dont. Then I just purchase what I like and find useful in my everyday life.

I have tested products a long time. I obtain some of my products here and then do my own testing with a group of people that help me. They have no ideal what they are using or what its supposed to do. The bottles are unmarked. I share my results here but I do this for my own piece of mind and interests. If you want something more scientific then maybe try that method.

Oh and there is a easy way to sort information. The search function for specific products works well but also suppose you find you and Catlord are similar in age build personality and likes and dislikes. He would be a good person to pay close attention to because its likely what works well for him will also work well in your situation.

Click on his profile. You then click on his stats button. The pick either all threads started by or all posts by Catlord and you can read everything he ever had to say here about pheromones. It helps break things down for you more.

Maybe someday Androtics will make a podcast but right now this is the venue for testing. We can take it or leave it. I happen to love this place so I’ll take it LOL

PS>>>> Reps for exploring ideas and possiblities

Oh and I thought I would point you here >>>

youtube androtics - Google Search

These are not the podcasts Steve worked on but interesting just the same and a start in the podcast direction.

And here is the FAQ

Tisha

Ok. So this doesn’t quite make sense to me. On the one hand your saying that the molecules need to be thoroughly tested, and that each person has a different reaction, I completely agree; but your also saying that someone testing them shouldn’t be influenced by too much information before testing, and yet we have an entire forum + product descriptions that does just that. It seems like the only way that this could work logically, is to offer the detailed information and let everyone choose their level of knowledge before testing . Everyone essentially knows what the major products do before they buy them, I’m just saying that we should make that information as thorough as possible. The cat’s already out of the bag in terms of knowledge, and if a placebo if going to occur because of that, then it’s already happened. There doesn’t seem to be a way to unring that bell.

It seems as if everyone wants to say: “well everyone’s different” but at the same time, they’re happy to post a description of a product or even argue about a certain molecules effects. This is even taken to the point were people are constantly given suggestions on what products to use or how they are using the products incorrectly.

This seems like an argument that is analogous to legislating morality : if people want to do it, then they’re going to find a way. In a perfect world everyone would test each product properly, but that’s not reality. So why not have as many resources as possible for information. A podcast would be a way to condense the information in the forum, for people who don’t have the time, or may have missed something after being away from the forum for a couple of days (new products, discussions, strategies, etc).

I understand what your saying Tisha when being asked about a product. If you tell someone too much, you may influence them, but if you tell them nothing, then you’re not able to share your experience; but, perhaps this is not our responsibility. I would love to hear your thoughts on different molecules, and don’t think that I’m alone. Maybe it should just be left to the reader/listener to decide their level of knowledge.

Thanks for the great response Tisha!!!
