Putative Directory

Does anyone have a link to a general putative directory? Seems like a lot of people know the effects of each putative number.

Are putatives gender specific? Are putatives pheromones or pheromone-like and still in the experimentation phase? Are they structurally similar to the
-nones, -nols, etc.? Thanks.

The basic concept of the P series is for you to experiment. They’re sold at a discount and an implied contract that’s you’ll report your experiences on the forum. Nobody knows exactly what they do and results may vary considerably from user to user. Reported results often have me scratching my head as my experience wasn’t remotely similar. If lots of users report consistently useful results, the P series may be tweaked and make it to pre-release stage and eventual commercial status.

The main problem I’ve had with P series is the Togo bottles are tiny. I tend to use them up in a few days, and usually before a discernible pattern of reactions is apparent.

Great post gegogi

I would like to add that they do take alot of experience to use. I still have trouble at times testing them and picking up on what they do. You really need to play with the dosage alot and combine it with other products your familar with sometimes to get a clear idea to what they may or may not do.

Thanks Gegogi and Tisha.

I see on Androticsdirect.com that the P series are now in 1 oz/30mL sizes at the $14.95 price. I may test some of these out after gaining more experience with the other products.

Nice post and rep points G

I agree that more than a togo is needed.

It’s good to see that the putatives are available in 30ml at such a great price!
I think the powers that be realized exactly what Gegogi said about testing. As usual, The Maestro and The Mix Mistress are right! Putatives, definetly, are tricky little buggers that need testing at different dosages and in different combinations with other pheromones. I’ve found that putatives, in particular, can be a very different animal at different dosages. At this time I only have two of them. One I’m getting cozy with and have reported on numerous times, and the other, which I haven’t tested much, I’m scared of.

Come on Bella don’t be scared. Grab the bull by the horns and give it a try! Which one is it anyway?

unofficial spreadsheet here

This is some excellent work! Impressive and rep points you!!! Everyone should check this out!

It’s a collective work - I got the ball rolling + Visionary has added the most to it since then. But really just summarizes the salient points from all the wonderful feedback here.

Viz - I unclogged my PM so try sending again.

It is excellant work but I try not to look at it when I am testing because it can influences the results.

Test the putative first and then when you have a impression of it or if you have trouble then check the spread sheet but not before.

Perfect example is P79 which a alot of people reported as a intensifier. Its more then that but you can tell by there reports they are influenced by the spreadsheet or from doing a search.

This will effect the ability to get putatives of your choice down the road. Testing will be by invitation so you wont be able to just pick them up in the store. The experimones and Test mixes are different but the putatives need to have blind testing most out of all the advanced because they will use those to make new mixes.

This is why I stress to not look them up to get a feel for what they will do. Androtics needs you to make every effort to test them blind and give honest feedback.

Also keep in mind that when testing is skewed by preconceived notions of a Putative that it effects all of us. We will be the ones buying those products at full price in the future and we want them to do what they claim they will do. Keep this in mind when buying your putatives

Tisha

I agree completely. I see so many posts from people asking what this putative or that experimone does and and it always bothers me a bit.

Androtics sells these products at cost because they want our feedback and to get a better idea of how these compounds act/react. They intentionally do not state what can be expected from putatives and experimones so as not to cloud the value of feedback. Having expectations going into testing definitely influences the results, and defeats or at least muddies Androtics research capabilities.

Bull…horns…? You’re sure you want me to do that?

Careful, I know a coupla 400 pounders I could send your way! :open_mouth:

It’s P79.

I have found the reports–spreadsheet included–to have little bearing on my experiences, so I take them with a very large grain of salt. I agree it’s more productive to start with a blank slate.

I concur with Gegogi and Tater - you really need the 30 ml bottles to figure out what is happening. I am still not “happy” with my testing of the Chemical Romance Pack because they were in the To Go size. I know I like MX149, I think I like MX150 but am not sure. Not sure about the others either BECAUSE the bottles were so small and other social variables so big that I never really had enough experience to get my arms around them.

Thanks man I just sent an email to your gmail account though.

Yes I agree definitely. On the other hand I think that MHarris did say that eventually pheromones sort themselves out and if something is good and works in some powerful way, it will stand out sooner or later, even if some people’s results are ‘skewed’. Pretty much everyone will report a particular effect. It might just take longer to sort out the fact from the fiction (which would be annoying I agree!)

I do think there is enough data on what P74, P79, P83, P93 do already just on the forum. I mean people have been posting on these for the last 2 years pretty much. You just have to read all the posts together and experience the molecule yourself. Its just the problem of attaching an appealing name to what they do as all pheromones have so many different effects.

Still I get what Androtics are trying to do in creating a forum culture of reporting on testing and that’s the way it should be.

I think the spreadsheet is fantastic and very useful especially to the experienced users who are trying to keep all this in order. It can get confusing. I love it myself and refer to it often.

Its just that the new users are using the spreadsheet to pick out the pheromones they want for there effect instead of for testing them to report the effects. That is were the problem lies. They buy them with a preconceived notion.

Frankly I think the putatives should be done different then the MX’s and experimones. They should just send out a handful of those to the people interested in actually testing them instead of using them for a effect. These are the hardest to get the feedback on.

Yep your correct and its why they are the biggest sellers in the putatives. They have preconceived notions attached to them. People look the up and say “Oh ok this is what it does” and buy them for that purpose. So its not just info they get from the spreadsheet.

I am not sure how it can be avoided. Its something I am sure they will address when the forum go’s more R & D.

Personally, I think that many of the losses from not forcing people to test blindly are at least partially offset by other benefits and are also in part self-correcting.

When I started experimenting with pheromones I had the benefit of the early reports up at LS. But it still took me months just to get a basic idea of how they worked and develop a sense for was going on. These days we have much better conceptual frameworks and illuminating stories to learn from, and I think it’s easier for a new user to get up to speed and build on the discoveries of others.

Discovering a new facet of a molecule thought by others to be well-understood is its own reward, particularly for certain kinds of personalities (the ones that are likely to engage more seriously in experimentation). However much of the time the progress in our understanding is likely to be incremental - ‘normal science’ rather than ‘revolutionary science’.

Maybe you could enhance this natural tendency by awarding points for particularly insightful tests and observations that could be used to earn access to new putatives and the like…

I do think that a sub-forum oriented towards more advanced products/users will be helpful. Popularity of the forum has grown incredibly, and as the appeal has broadened it becomes harder to focus - too easy to be swamped by the sheer volume of posts. Time is limited and the buzz that used to develop when, for example, TAF and MEO-EST were released is now dissipated rather than building momentum.

I think there also needs to be a proper FAQ. It’s one of the good aspects of the forum that makes it a warm, friendly place that people don’t say ‘do a search’ as is done elsewhere. But the same questions do keep cropping up repeatedly, and it would be helpful to have somewhere to point people.

I agree completely. If you think it’s hard for us to find information on advanced products though, imagine how hard it’s got to be for Androtics to keep up with feedback on them.

Sometime back I proposed adding an additional field to new thread postings, with either a text field or dropdown select for specifying what product/products was being reported on and making it a searchable field. My thoughts were that as users we could then click search, select the product they were looking for information on and see only results specifically listing that product when the thread was created.

Of course if this were implemented initial search results using the new functionality would yield few results, but with the sheer volume activity in the forum it would rapidly become more useful.
