So I’m in the position of knowing where exactly I am in my cycle on any given day. This has made for some interesting correlations between my the way certain mones affect me and where I am hormonally.
So far - I think cleo - i don’t know if it’s the androstenol or the copulins - makes me feel euphoric when I’m ovulating, but when i’m menstrual and gearing up to ovulate again, i get weepy, and feel quite emotional. I’ve just passed the ovulatory hump now, so I’ll have to see what happens when i go downhill into premenstrual territory.
A314 on the other hand - feels great on the up-side of my cycle, but post ovulation, it’s weighing very heavily on me. Where as last week I felt very centered and in charge wearing 2 drops, yesterday (post ovulation - LH stage?)i felt like i had a sea anchor holding me back - and felt spacey and a little overtired.
I think today, i’ll use cleo as my primary foundation, and maybe add a note of A314 - a drop or half a drop maybe - to my hair. I also am gonna add soem shine. Pre-ovulation, I’ve been crashing hard with shine - i’d like to see how i feel with it post ovulation. Actually strike that - i’ll try shine tomorrow - jsut cleo today, so I can verify the effects.
Do any of you notice cyclical changes in the way you feel with different pheros?
So this morning was interesting - I put a drop of cleo on my neck and was feeling quite good - and decided what the heck - let me add a drop of A314 to my hair - big mistake, as soon as I put it on, i started to feel it dragging me down. So i added another drop of cleo to my cleavage and a dab under my nose. Interestingly enough i got a whiff of catpee when i first put it on this morning, but not so much now, or i am used to it. It helped mitigate the A314 blunder, but I’m still feeling a little too heavy.
Tomorrow I try cleo and Instant Shine together. I find the A314 reaction intriguing. Now i’m going to have to go do a refresher on what exactly is going on during luteal phase, and compare that with research on ovulating, menstrual AND BCP-using women and pheromonal interactions.
Very interesting! I wonder if the women’s version of A314 (MX134) would have any downer effects for you postovulation? I like your “sea anchor” image for A314 … I feel that about it too, but I kind of like it.
At least one woman on L-S found copulins made her weepy premenstrually.
lol Carrie - last week I felt like the QE2 - so for some reason the nautical metaphor is just sticking in regards to A314.
Yeah I should see if MX134 behaves differently - i still haven’t gotten around to getting used to the cheesy smell. I’ve got to wear it on weekends and get fully used to it.
Yeah I’m guessing it most likely is the cops affecting me negatively on the upswing, and then not so much after ovulation. Because literally i feel that lump in my throat usually about 20 minutes after putting it on, usually on the drive in.
I’ll be watching this post for more information and also will be taking note of my own cyclical fluctuations and phases and how I might be reacting or interacting with the pheromones differently. Great and valuable “independent study” going on here!
well the handiest tool for me in figuring this out, is the fact that I chart Basal Body Temperature every morning. I know exactly on which day I ovulate, and when I’m ramping up or ramping down hormonally. Knowing this and then extrapolating which hormones are dominant when - as I said - i’ve got to go back and review the details of Menstrual cycles again, it should yeild soem interesting info on how different pheros affect women in different phases. I just really wish that i knew exactly what was in all the various products I use - It would help me greatly in figuring out what’s what.
Nunya, your reactions to things are so like mine that I always await your experiments with bated breath. I also note “crashing” at times, particularly with the sprays.
Are things still shifted for you at work? They are for me, even though I am now out of my power tools. I have a huge arsenal coming this week - three orders Jasmin helped me out with- so I am going to start a separate thread for advice on that because it is rather far-ranging…
my shifts haven’t been near as dramatic as yours - but they have shifted, and are pretty statically their at this point.
Seems liek the whole department, primarily due to external pressure, is really working on communicating openly and being polite - so that’s definitely a step in the right direction. And I of course, and happier for it.
on a sidenote - it’s almost noon, and I haven’t crashed yet. so that’s good. I still feel mellow and unflappable and i don’t smell like cheese.
Yeah, but when things finally do all that shifting, when they didn’t for so long before, right after you start wearing pheros, you have to wonder what you did to the group dynamic. I know it’s never all about us but maybe just a nice little push on something everybody was already trying to roll up hill makes all the difference. I am so excited about what you’ve done.
And personally, with the work situation smoothed out, it’s like, umm…what’s next?
You’re the second person I’ve heard mention MX134 smelling like cheese. While I am one who definitely thinks EOW smells like that, I have never detected it in MX134. It smells peppery to me, for want of a better term.
haha - it’s funny you say that vkat - I asked my work friend - who i keep in the loop on all my phero adventures if she thought I smelled like cheese and she said to me “nope i don’t smell anything. but your nose is really sensitive anyway, which surprises me considering you smoke. But then if you didn’t smoke, you’d prolly be overwhelmed by all the smells you catch everyday. so it’s like you self-medicate.”
I don’t smell the pepper notes myself, but i think i know what you mean in comparison to the way the neroli is in something like instant honesty, or Shine. Those are fruitier, but this is a bit spicier.
And here I thought I was going crazy. I’ve noticed a similar change in how pheros affect me at different times of the month. Of course, I’m a little late in finding this thread - I was just about to post something similar, myself.
Copulins have made me weepy the week post-menstruation, and IH seems to work particularly well on me during (sprayed to the hair and back of the neck, fyi, which never affects me otherwise). Well, that, or I forget to watch my mouth, what with all my thoughts being centered around CHOCOLATE.
Exactly, that’s why I find it so strange. I thought it was my imagination, but I truly can’t keep my wits about me - at least, not enough to watch my mouth.
