Why should newcomers to pheromones stay away from putatives? Can’t they be experimented with just the same as the instant line, for example?
Putative are only potential pheromones - they are in initial testing. With some of the putatives it costs Androtics twice what they charge to synthesize them. They offer the putatives at reduced cost to testers who report because the feedback they receive from these users is valuable enough to offset their costs.
Since many new pheromone users don’t report on their usage, it is a total waste for them to receive putatives. Androtics is basically throwing money down the drain in that case.
So, the question should be “Why should Androtics make putative usage easily available to newcomers?”
Become a reporting user and the question is moot.

Labramson1, there’s no reason you shouldn’t experiment with putatives – so long as you understand the definition of the word “putative” and you are not disappointed or turned off to pheromones when some of them just don’t perform as you’d hoped.
I think they prefer newbies to begin with the commercial products because they know they will work. And they know how they will work. Of course, everybody’s experience is a little different. Most of the commercial products are a combination of several pheromones to accomplish a goal.
Once you are accepted as a reporting member you get a (usually fairly small) discount on the putatives and experimones. The bar isn’t that high. After you get in the habit of showing up on the forum for a while ask Steve or Tisha to change your status. I think 50 posts used to be the time when they made that consideration, but it’s not rigid. Then you get the discount and when you order they’ll often throw in a free gift that they want more feedback on.
In my experience, there are only two or three putatives that just don’t seem to do anyting. Most of them have some very interesting (if less completely understood) effects. But, of course, you can’t complain if they don’t do what you want them to…
If you’ve learned to notice the effects of the pheros you already have, go ahead, if you want, and order a putative that interests you. And then make a note on the forum about your experiences.
Awesome Diane, thanks for putting it in Lamens terms, now I have to report! ![]()
And sometimes the price reduction is very substantial. It depends on the Putative.
Some Putatives are listed at $99.00 for the 12.5 mcg/spray To Go! 5 mL bottle; sometimes they are $999.00 for that size. For an established testing and reporting user, that bottle might be $9.95.
Depends on how hard it is to synthesize that particular product, and how badly Androtics wants feedback, and how consistently you report on what you have ordered so far.
P96 is a very good example: Putative 96 :: Putative Pheromones :: Androtics Direct/SmartMones It is listed at $999.00 (currently out of stock). Androtics is synthesizing a small amount which it will make available to testing users only. I recently bought a 5 mL To Go! bottle at 50.0 mcg/mL at a substantial discount while it was still in stock.
The regular, well known pheromones are different and the discounts are very much more modest. Androtics doesn’t need much feedback on stuff like Androstenone. It is well characterized and its effects are well known.

I just purchased everything on my wishlist. ![]()
Grr. I wish I had thought about this before I ordered. I ordered all the mones I was interested in yes, but I also ordered 2 amber dropper top bottles for 6$? and that is holding up my order!
I’m in no way angry at Androtics because as a businessman myself I realize that quality does indeed take time. I should have ordered them separately though. I was really hoping to have them before tomorrow night.
All you have to do is call them and they can pull that off the order. Look at the store forum for phone number and all that jazz.

Well believe it or not I got the stuff this morning around 8:30. Got the e-mail that it was shipped around 2 yesterday…damn that was quick. check my journal for initial thoughts.
Not that its not great but notice how Dianes and Warrens are different…
I just want to point out that the lists provided here describing what the putatives do is the result of one persons tests. They do not indicate what Androtics knows or says they do Or the information they have compiled. I am not saying they are wrong. While differing a little both Diane and Warren are correct… for them. Androtics wants to know what it does for you. Putting it in the sticky section would mislead new members into thinking this is what they do. My list would and does look different from there’s. They all look different then the compiled data. Remember the forum in not the only place testing occurs.
Jasmin asked for a years mones experience with Androtic products before you could get putatives to test. You need a certain awareness to be able to read them. I even had diffuculty at first. It was changed to this new method or “reporting user” recently so that people would be more prone to report and other members could still get the test products. They are offering the discount for the feedback. Its not just having 50 posts that gets you on the list. There are other factors that we look at like your success to get the regular proven products to work for you. Attention to detail in reporting. Reporting on the single molecule extensively as well as mixes you use it in. These are just some of the things we look for.
When you test a putative its best not to know what they do especially if your new to it. When you expect them to do something you tend to over look other nuances of the putative.
Just like the experimones may react a little differently on men then on women. So will the putatives. Age race and other factors may influence the results as well. Which is why we ask all those questions in the intro section and when you report. Mones enhance you and you have your own special chemical makeup and personality.
Its all the research complied thats gives the indicator to what a putative does. Best thing to do if you really need to know before hand is do a advanced search on the putatives name .
When you get that free test sample try hard not to look it up so your not influenced by other reports. Alot of time those free ones are placebo’s. It tells them who is posting results they read and who is posting actual results ![]()
Dont be afraid to report something about the putative just because its not in line with what others have reported. Just give you own honest feedback on what you feel it does for you.
