Question on getting a product unscented

Hello,

I think I read somewhere on the forum that your women’s products can be ordered unscented, for those who prefer to use their own perfume on top of the product.

The mild neroli scent is OK but I’m not crazy about it; I like natural perfume oils made by a company called Auric Blends. I just ordered some more Auric Blends in the Amber scent that I really like. (As an aside for the ladies’ information, once when I was at work wearing the Amber, no pheromones, a man who was walking about 6 feet away from me ran over to me at my cubicle, saying “WHAT’S THAT PERFUME YOU’RE WEARING??”, and took my wrist to get a closer whiff of the scent. This guy was not trying to hit on me in any way, it was just a pure reaction to the perfume.) I also ordered a sample of Auric Blends’ Egyptian Goddess, which is supposed to be very popular.

I plan to order the regular size I/S A, but didn’t see any option to order it unscented. Maybe I just missed it? Also, does anyone have any experience using Auric Blends products with the pheromones? From what I’ve read in the forum, the only specific perfume mentioned has been Pink Sugar. I know it’s possible to use another perfume on top of the mildly scented pheromone, but I think that might change the total fragrance effect. Thanks!

They do offer unscented for some products in the custom additions section of the store.

Its really not suggested you do though. The binding agents are in the scent package and this is what diffuses the mones from your body. Without diffusion mones wont work.

If you want to blend the scented with you own perfume try appling your mones and then waiting 10 to 15 minutes and then covering with perfume. Generally that works well to prevent most bleed through.

I just looked at the Androtics store and saw they were charging an additional $54.97 to get a product UN-scented now!

I used to love getting the individual pheros unscented and use them to sort of add a boost to the scented ones I get like I/Shine or I/Sexiness, or just use them with other perfumes I have. I liked doing it that way. It was nice.

I didn’t mind paying a few extra dollars to get a product unscented, but I really doubt I will pay an extra $54.97 to do so. I am hoping Androtics changes their mind about this.

Hi Tisha,

Thanks for the info. I looked in the custom additions section at the other scents available. Coconut and Grapefruit are self-explanatory; is Chocolatini a chocolate scent only, or chocolate combined with another scent? Does Cookie smell like vanilla? For my own perfume, I like the spicy Oriental type scents, so I’m wondering if Cookie would be the best way to go for the pheromone scent underneath. I like both chocolate and coconut, but Cookie sounds like it may conflict the least with my perfume. What do you think? Thanks!

No I get a chocolate sort of nutty scent from chocolitini. Its not just chocolate.

Cookie has some vanilla notes but its more like chocolate chip cookie to me.

I really really do not like the coconut it smells plastic to me.

Grapefruit I love and it seems to blend with anything else I use.

A good person to ask is Carrie, she is real nice and knows a lot more about what will blend well with what. I dont use many oriental scents so I dont want to send you in the wrong direction. I will send her a PM so she dosnt miss this thread.

Hi ar707,

I wouldn’t get any of those Androtics custom scents if you have scents of your own that you like. The current Androtics scents are kind of strong and very chemical smelling (cookie smells like chocolate cookie btw; coconut is not a true coconut, grapefruit is sweet, not a true grapefruit, chocolatini is amaretto chocolate and super strong). Those scents, unlike the neroli, don’t fade much. You may be able to wear them with an oriental but they would totally change the final fragrance, making it more gourmand. All of the current Androtic custom scents I would consider very foody/dessert and very synthetic smelling.

They’re working with a new perfumer who will hopefully come up with something much better, but for now I suggest just getting the neroli. The neroli part really does fade quickly and you can wear your perfumes (Auric Blends are oils I believe) along with the neroli scented pheros.

I suggest spraying the pheros very widely all over your body (hold the sprayer a foot or so away from you and use a sweeping motion), then applying your oils as usual. I don’t think the scent difference you achieve by spending the money on unscented is worth it.

Another thing you can do (I’ve done this with some scents) is add some drops of your perfume directly to the spray bottle of pheros; ratio is up to you, and you’ll need to apply more sprays to get the same phero effect because of dilution. If you do get your pheros unscented, then adding your perfume oils will aid in diffusion. Shake the bottle before spraying in case it tends to separate.

To me, layering is usually better. You’ll have total control over your phero dose and your perfume will come through more clearly that way.

Hi Tisha,

Thanks once again for your advice, and for your referral to Carrie!

Hi Carrie,

Thanks for your detailed advice and descriptions of the other scents. I think I have been spraying much too close to my body, which caused the very concentrated and long-lasting scent that I didn’t like. Next time I’ll try your method of spraying a foot away in a sweeping motion.
