I know most of the consumer line is “time fixed” to slow diffusion more than if they were simply mixed in PA. But if I was to make my own mix with some single molecules, how would I accomplish the same? Do I need to purchase oil as well as PA and include that?, and if so what ratio of oil to PA do I need for a good spray that will give me at least 4 hours of effective diffusion?
While I do NOT recommend mixing in a bottle yourself (As Harris has said, these are designed to layer - there’s no major reason to pour them together unless you’re doing it to carry less bottles out), the single molecules that we sell you (fragrance or not) contain everything you’d need. I however can’t go into specifics of our process obviously, but you shouldn’t need to add anything abnormal to what we send you.
haha the ever vexing problem of carrying too many bottles. I started to use an Altoids container per someone elses suggestion here, just right for togos except as I walk you hear this loud clanking. So I added a bit of cushion to the tin and now its silent.
Rad I’ve mixed in to-go bottles before, what were you trying to do?
Like John said if you are mixing pheromones without doing any diluting then they will be already at the correct ratio. If you are diluting a lot of your pheromones down then I add some DPG to time fix the mix if needed. I have not come across a hard rule for adding DPG. It depends on the molecules in the mix as well as how long you want to slow the diffusion. Another aspect of using DPG is that if you add too much then the phero strength needs to be higher. To convert ICM 1b to oil it was realized the pheromones needed to be 7x the strength of the alcohol version. Anyways to answer your question if you are diluting down pheromones a good deal use less than 10% DPG and you should be fine. Although if you are mixing on your own then your data you report will not be usuable because your mix was not made by AD.
