For more times than I can count I’ve carried non-metallic items that I’d rather not explain to the TSA drones in the front pockets of my pants. Based on my experience the metal content of a ToGo spray is not likely to set off the metal detector. Additionally I’ve never had the contents of my “TSA approved one quart zip top plastic bag” scrutinized. As long as your containers are labeled as being less than 3 ounces and even better, appear to be much smaller, I can’t see how you’re going to have a problem. You may get some weird looks if they do decide to look up close but probably no worse than if you’re carrying some cherry flavored Astro Glide.
Perhaps some A314 and the judicious use of Jedi mind powers are needed… “These are not the mones you’re looking for.”
urgh i was going to take my pheromones with me when i go on holiday to ibiza later this year, dont think im going to risk it now after reading some of the posts..Think i’ll buy some togo bottles and take them instead
I had to put my pheromones in my suitcase last week, and bit of the Instant Shine leaked (I guess the cap was not screwed on tightly enough, or it popped open). I would highly recommend wrapping the caps or nozzles around with tape if necessary. Even though at my airports they allow you liquids of less than 100 mL in a clear, zipped bag, they still have the right to browse through it, so I did not dare risk them taking anything away.
Anyway, I feel the North American airports checks are getting a bit ridiculous. I just returned from a trip to Mexico, and the guards there had no problems allowing my family and me to breeze through the detectors with bottles of pop in our hands and bags. Then again, we didn’t exactly have a chemistry lab handy to cook up liquid explosives at our resort.
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Heathrow?
I’ll be heading away for about 3 months, will definitely want to bring my pheros with me, was wondering how you guys recommend packing?
A) Buy togo versions of everything and put them in check-in
B) Buy togo and pack in carry-on. Likely to be confiscated?
C) Buy togo and put in pocket/coat
D) Buy clear plastic bottles (smallest I can find so far are 50mls) and transfer from my current full-sized bottles, put in check-in. Label ‘cologne’. Was wondering if this might come across as being more suspicious, since it’s a self-made label…
E) As per D, but in carry-on. don’t think this will be popular..
or
F) Bring original bottles. Will probably wrap in ziplock and bubble wrap..
If you have the location’s address you know you’ll be staying at, wouldn’t paying a dollar or so for USPS shipping be the way to go?
I would never risk my pheros
I’m pretty sure that a user called Londoncityguy went through Heathrow a couple of months back, his bottle was labelled ammunition and he had no problem whatsoever. I doubt very much that you will have any trouble but if you’re worried, stick them in your washbag and put it in your hold luggage.
I flew from Bristol to Barcelona 5 months ago with 4 blue bottles and 5 to go’s in my hold baggage, no problem whatsoever.
They are ANAL at Heathrow & will go through EVERYTHING in your carry-on…Only small amounts of toiletries are allowed, NO liquids! They confiscate water bottles
I’d mail them before leaving or pack in leak-proof bags to put in your suitcase
Maybe you guys just look suspicious. For the past 6 years I have travelled regularly with 2 or 3 atomizers of mones and have never, not once, had a problem or even been questioned. And this includes major USA, Canada, European and Asian airports (no Middle East, S. America or Africa yet).
Anyway it is basic common sense not to travel the mothership in tow. In other words, don’t bring 30ml bottles of IH, Ammo, TUTH, etc. Not only are they prone to leakage, but glass can break. Use small & tough atomizers like the Sephora (usually leakproof) or a Togo if you have one that doesn’t leak (most of mine do).
I have taken my bottles on more than ten flights and always leave them easily accessible in one of the side pockets. A couple times when on arrival I’ve had a sticker saying I’ve been searched but everything was left in good condition. I think all this talk of alternate labels and special packaging is more likely to make people suspicious.
