Mark, I wanted to answer this thread from a womans perspective because I was so touched with your earnestness.. Ive just been a little scared about being unfairly insulted or avoided here, but at this point I dont care, I want to help shed light on our thoughts and motives as women.
Many times I myself have gone out and handed my number out to guys (in the days before I had my boyfriend).. only when asked… so here are a few real scenarios that I have been through as to why I havent called back few times, Id like to share with you (gulp)..
I once met a real NICE seemingly stable Irish gentleman that I really liked once at a bar, he asked for my number, was giving me lots of flattery and sweet attention that I love, I mean this was my kind of guy. Unfortunately, he just waited to long in calling me (5 days), I felt that maybe his attention may have been an act and I was at the bottom of his list. I became disinterested, and I did not pick up my phone..
Between boyfriends, I met a really cute younger guy at an 80s dance club last year. We danced.. my friends left, stupid Julia having some fun.. I stayed. He did like a 180 on me, went from cute, nice guy, tryed to hump me on the floor, I was terrified. At that point all I could think about was getting OUT of there. I ran out to grab a taxi and I could not get him off of me, I mean he was glued to my leg. He took my number earlier.. This cute, semi-cool guy at one end of the night became my worst nightmare at the other end.
Met a guy I thought maybe I liked once at a bar, I got drunk. He got drunk. He called me a few days later, and I honestly barely remembered who he was other than the fact he was drunk, the alcohol association was too much for me and so I didnt pick up my phone.
Now, on the flip side of the coin here there have been times, where my prospective interest has not called me (and this has happened to EVERY woman I know, who is interesting, sexy, and intelligent), and we have wondered why… So much so there are whole talk shows dedicated to this very subject, books written. You’re PUA is our “Hes just not that into you.”
The difference is pua is pro-active (male), whereas the later is more responsive (female), cultural references reflecting the biology of men and women.
You look like a very intelligent, charming and handsome gentleman who does not have a problem with women and is at the top of your game. Just take care of yourself now after this break from your woman.. you’re energy might be a little down now, and many women may pick up on that. At any rate 1 in 5 is still really high in your favor, absolutely nothing to frown on you always seem to have a cutie on your arm in many your photos, so you clearly are attractive to many women.
