So my mother found my pheromones.

Accused me of using them to take advantage of women, is really disappointed in me, doesnt know where she went wrong, etc, etc.

I know where she went wrong, going through my underwear drawer and finding them.

That’s like spying on someone while they pee and telling them they have a small penis.

Yes, I live with my parents. It sucks, but hey I do have 7,000 saved in my bank account. After one more year I plan on having 12,000 saved up. Then its off to finish my education.

Knowing my mom, explaining to her will just convince her even more of my “unethical” behavior.

Looks like I’ll now be known to my mother for the next year as Scipio the rapist.

Ouch. LOL

Just ask her.

Is it wrong if I buy girls drinks (well you’re 20 so that might not go over well)?

What about working out?

Buying expensive clothes?

I’m thinking I might lead in with

“you know how I sometimes just go watch people at the park and coffee shops and take notes in my journal?”

or I just might mention

“how is it any different from when you make a really good dinner and clean the house when you want dad to buy you something?”

Ouch… Well tell her it’s science

i’m just curious. how did she “exactly” find out that they were pheromones. Nowhere on the bottles of Androtics products does it list the words “pheromone.” It simply says human musks and frangrances.

That is unless your family researches everything they look upon.

I leave my bottles out and let everyone know I just have an “extensive” cologne collection.

ROFL. I’m sorry dude, but this is hilarious. No don’t tell her that you watch ppl in the park. Then she will think u are a serial rapist. Geez man that sucks. Ask her if it’s ok to where cologne. All the cologne commercials claim to do what pheromones do.

Poor fella!

Just let it play out without trying to explain anything.

RULE #1: This rule, kids and teens, can’t seem to get, for some strange and unknown reason. :o When you are living in SOMEONE ELSE’S house, you are subject to their rules. NO EXCEPTIONS!

FACT 1: Mother’s are some nosy creatures. Father’s too, if they care. If it’s not LOCKED up, it will be seen … sooner or later.

Oh! And everybody looks under the matress! Geez! Every kid in America thinks that the safest and coolest place to hide stuff, and it’s almost the FIRST place a parent looks. Parents hid stuff, too, so they know where to look! :open_mouth:

Hang in there!

TaTa!

Tell her it’s insurance for if she wants grandkids someday.

^^^^

She looked up Androtics from the order form. I wasnt even trying to hide it. When you go to the site it says in the left hand corner with an attractive looking female “Reduce rejection and improve your life” I just put them in the drawer so they could all be in one place.

Plus she already knows I’m super interested in human behavior so it wouldnt come off as weird.

Good One!

While the enhancement of sexual attraction gets the most press and attention, it is merely one component of the many functions mones communicate. The most significant enhancements are social, especially the elevation of status and amping of your persona. I don’t really care much about the sexual perks–trying to avoid them!–but the enhancement of my sociality and professional persona are what it’s all about to most of us.

When you do tell her off, make sure you’re wearing plenty of A314.

Have you asked how how she arrived at the conclusion that this would be taking advantage of girls/women ?
(above and beyond leaping to assumptions based on small scraps of information)

Is she aware that easily available commercial products already contain pheromones ?

What in her logical universe makes that such a certain outcome ?

Is improving communication necessarily taking advantage of someone ?

Would she then agree that no alcohol should be sold to anyone under 35 years of age, or that all females should wear burquas, or would driving a flashy car (which would be sending signals much further than any know pheromone) or working out in the gym also qualify as taking advantage of someone by using tempting appearances ?

Do breast enhancements constitute taking advantage of men ?

Does wearing of alluring fragrances signal bad intent ?

Seems like she’s build a kind of narrowly framed extreme case without thinking the subject through… probably from some ridiculous hogwash they put on TV in the last couple of years as highly implausible but entertaining script fodder…

shes old school, and very narrow minded.

I’m just waiting for her to bring it up again explain or tell her off

Ouch! that is a very rough spot to be in, specially when rule #1 (M&M post) applies (and it does in this case) but, I would not explain a thing and when questioned about it (the let’s talk about this moment) I would only make her aware that she is intruding in your privacy (even though rule#1 applies) and from that moment on never allow the topic to come up, she is your mother and will get over it. That’s what I did when my mom found my playboy magazines 37 years ago. Oh! I said something else ‘you would be worried if i didn’t like women , so what’s the big deal’. Good luck ol’ boy!

This is actually what I had to tell my wife when she looked up androtics after paying the credit card bill.

This. Tell her this and she might be a little more receptive.

All those benefits do tend to help in the sexual department too though…

You have IFM by any chance ?

I would tell her that her herself releases pheromones into the air and that she should shower more often so she doesn’t unfairly tempt other men.

Ask her if you can harvest her copulins…

All kidding aside. Yeah you do have to live by other people’s rules when you’re living in their house…however…privacy for a 20 year old man from his mom isn’t much to be asking for.

Don’t lie about it. Own it. If you’re using the mones to amp up your sex life, then admit it. If it’s purely for business and professional reasons, admit it. If it’s for self-improvement, more confidence, admit it. Just be honest to the point that you’re not revealing anything more that you feel is private.

Now here comes the passive aggressive side of me…LOL… if she brings it up, or you could do this in passing too, just say, “You know, I would really love to talk to you about this, but you have violated my trust and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to share anything personal with you again.” Dagger to the heart man…LOL.

I think the IJ is still having some self-effects.

You grow up Catholic by any chance, gentleman?

Sounds like the classic reverse-guilt trip only a man growing up under the veil of relentless Catholic guilt would conjure up! lol and just my style, too!

To take that a step further, you can always do the, “I’m just doing what I can to improve my life because that’s all I know how! Why can’t you be happy for me?! It’s not like I’m taking DRUGS!” routine!
