The unconscious hello the secret technique for gaining instant rapport

“The Unconscious Hello,” or a Secret Technique for Gaining Instant Rapport!

In the “unconscious hello,” here’s what happens. When you first meet or notice another human being for the first time, whether it’s face to face or across a crowded room, you unconsciously and automatically communicate and acknowledge that noticing. Something happens, something is communicated. It may be a smile or a nod. It may be a word or two. It may be a wave, or up close, a handshake. Your unconscious picks up every nuance, every drop of meaning of which your conscious mind may be blithely unaware. You just know, “Hey, I LIKE this person.” “She looks nice.” “I wonder what his problem is.” And so on. You have garnered meaning from the communication which filters into your consciousness.
By consciously acting on this “unconscious hello” communication, you can direct the outcome, the meaning of your communication, the feeling the other person gets from you in a positive way for yourself. Good feelings, friendly feelings, warmth and rapport. It’s a two way street, you feel it, too. And it’s so simple to do. Here’s how!
In that moment of first noticing another person, you observe how they notice YOU first, and then you feed it back to them. If they nod and smile, you nod and smile in precisely the same way. If they say “hello,” you say “hello” in precisely the same tone of voice and volume. If they tilt their head while speaking, you tilt your head to the same angle. You match whatever it is that they present to you. THEN, on an unconscious level, they feel a positive connection with you. “This person really understands me.” “This person seems like MY kind of people.” “I like this person.” “You are like me.” The implications for the dating world, or the sales world, or any interpersonal setting are powerful! You’re WAYYY more likely to close the deal or make the sale or get the girl’s phone number if she feels this rapport with you. Or, as a friend of mine likes to apply this, a free cup of coffee from the Starbuck’s barista! Magically, you also feel the connection, as well.
Here’s another tip. If you can observe the person saying hello to someone else first, take those noticings of voice and face and body and etc. and feed them upon greeting to the person even before they acknowledge you. Try it! Discover for yourself the power of the “unconscious hello!” to generate positive feelings of connection. And that’s what life is all about, is it not?

This is not my work I copied this from a website, so credit to the op.

what I will add is this, feed back the hello to the person, they will feed it back to you. then you feed it back to them again. but this time, look at their right ear, that is the anchor, now whenever you the bypass the conscious mind and influence them you know what to do.
any questions google it

Good article.

Its called mirroring and it helps create instant rapport and connection as well as comfort. We all mirror its an instinctual automatic response seen even in babies. You visibly see it occurring when you yawn and those around start to yawn as well. This is your automatic mirroring response.

Think about it… when your upset or anxious your body tends to show it. You avoid eye contact, look down more, fidget, use closed protective body positions. What is the mirroring response going to be ? They start to feel uneasy with you.

Approaching someone who is displaying comfortable at ease body language you want to match that to connect. The “I’m just like you signal”

However suppose your looking to approach someone who is anxious and showing it with their body language. You do not want to match those movements. It will just escalate the uneasiness. In this situation you know you have to put this person at ease first then mirror them. You use non threatening gentle body language. When they begin to show signs of comfort you mirror those signs.

that is not the point of the hello, this is a very powerful technique, the point is that however they react when the person says hello you copy it.

(The unconscious hello the secret technique for gaining instant rapport - #2 by tisha23)Sales trainer Kenrick Cleveland teaches the Unconscious Hello. Simply put it’s the non-verbal way to say hello. Pay close attention to how people greet each other from a distance. Pay close attention to the body language, the way they turn their body, the nod of their head, the opening of their arms and their facial expressions. Take a look at how both strangers and friends greet each other; you will notice a big difference
Persuasion should be happening at all times, during every moment of the sales process. Every movement of your body, your hand movements and facial expression should be used to persuade. The Unconscious Hello can happen 20 or 30 feet out from your contact with the prospect. Smile and nod your head as if you are walking up to shake the hand of your best friend. This may seem small to you but it speaks volumes to your prospect. They are nervous enough when they see a car salesperson walking up to them, do whatever you can to ease that nervousness, to initiate the rapport and trust building process.

If you expect above-average results you must learn, implement and perform above-average concepts.

That’s why you need to pay close attention to how people greet each other from a distance, so that you can better mimic those moments. Have you ever been in the mall and noticed a good friend walking toward you, how did they look when he or she noticed you for the first time. Did their eyes widen, did they smile and start to walk faster? Thats what you should do in the showroom. Act as if you are familiar with the prospect; smile warmly, nod your head and quicken your pace just slightly. Your prospect will do the same; they will nod their head, smile back and will return your non-verbal greeting.

Don’t miss this moment, do it every time and you will be much closer to closing the sale because you are persuading. After the unconscious hello go right into the meet and greet and remember that if you expect above-average results you must learn, implement and perform above-average concepts.

I agree with you, the power of the “hello” is crucial but communication go’s beyond the hello. That was my point in the above quoted statement. You have to provide ease to some individuals before matching those movements. If your matching nervous closed body language its just going to close them off more.
