Tigerlilly's Reports

wild est experiment tonight -

put on est, betanol, p74, p86, tah. Had to run to the mall to replace glasses before flying out tomorrow. my arm is in a sling, but that’s all. you guys know the backstory, but really, it could have been anything -

that combo should be called instant male comfort. holy sheesh!

i had to beat men (all men, only one women) off of me in comfort. utter strangers would run over to me to ask what had happened, try to cheer me up, try to help me. one guy who ran a photo studio tried reeeaaaallly hard to get me inside for a portrait - and he started zeroing in on me from about 50 yards. much outside sniffing distance… Hmmm… the ultimate teenaged kid at the fast food place bent over backwards to come around from the counter and fill up my soda cup for me, despite my protestations. i caught lots o’ stares. i don’t have a black eye or anything - its just a sling, people. i was wearing ratty jeans and a long sleeve grey t-shirt. hair in a pony tail - nothing fancy at all.

sooo…

since it was so weird, and since I am flying out tomorrow, i decided to swing by His office. i’ve actually started working with him professionally now (i swear, it wasn’t totally contrived) and now he’s a liaison to my consulting company. i send trainees to him for further specialized training. its worked great so far. anyways, i needed to chat with him about some business stuff and pout to him about being injured.

well, he hadn’t seen me in a while, and we had only talked about the incident via email - his eyes went huge when he saw me. “heeeeyyyyy!” all soft and surprised and sweet. “your email didn’t say you were banged up!”

he let me have it for being a ricky rescue and plunging down into the canyon. he was sputtering and all pissy. he was appropriately concerned for me though, and very sweet. I made an “ow” once - once - and he whipped around so fast I thought he would have whiplash. “r u ok? no ow, no ow!”

he also brought up the wine from before, saying he hadn’t had it yet, but would most definitely let me know what he thought. admonished me to be safe. again and again. (like this will happen again ) he was a running commentary as well - “you know, I don’t really talk to myself like this when you’re not here… i must be doing it for you.” hmmm… yes… or for the betanol…

Edit for notes - He was playful too. Fun loving and happy. Joking around.

he looked rough - he works sooo much. I am a workaholic, but damn, he puts me to shame. at least i take time out to go hiking… err… scratch that.

Bleh - oh well. this really put some things in perspective. being able to literally save and give life (or take it away) can do that. no matter what happens with this dude, i have made a truly good friend, and a valuable work partner. why ruin that with any complications? probably because we were trying to be authentic with each other, we’ve developed a totally easy friendship. i almost fell asleep in his office today i was so tired, and he just let me drift away while his verbal commentary on his website problems went on and on… and on.

i cherish my brief moments of calmness.

my friends have christened me “the shit magnet.”
