Pheromones on a Plane! Pheromones at the Airport!
I always get such a laugh out of the posts that crop up like clockwork in the lounge and all over about pheros and travel. There is no reason to be concerned. There’s nothing wrong with pheros on a plane, or going thru security, or anything of the sort. I set out to prove that today.
Put all my pheros, all originaly labeled in their togos and their big bottles (Molecule F, Molecule H, mx135, etc) in my clear plastic baggy and set it right on top of the tray to go thru the scanner. I wanted it to be seen.
It was a non-event. Treated as nothing. No alarms, no drug sniffing, chemical sniffing, crazy-ness. Nothing. Its totally safe.
HOWEVER…
As you all know, I am in a sling and bandaged up pretty heavily. I haven’t flown injured since the new new regs came into effect. I was unaware of this gem: anyone who is injured gets extra special “treatment.” The assumption is, of course, that you injured yourself doing some nefarious deed involving chemicals and things that go boom. I became very intimately acquainted with my TSA screener! She also took chem swabs of my brace, hands, sling and neck (where my pheros were).
Nothing came up on the sensor whoo-da-haa. (Of course, because I wasn’t being nefarious when I was injured!) But it didn’t “read” the pheros either. So no sweat, even with a thorough hand check of you and your stuff.
Now, I of course was also wearing pheros all day too. What was I wearing… Well, my new fave combo - est, p74, p86, TAH, instant honesty. Its so dreamy and perfect. A true womens mix. (And I have some serious thoughts about the womenly vibe given off by the TAH)
Anyways… Combine the mix above with gimpy, bandaged up me, and it was a crazy, crazy day. Again, I couldn’t get the men to stop caring for me. Women were also starting to repond as the day wore on, but I think that’s a product of the TAH “aging” effect…
Okay, so at the “intimate” screening, the screener and everybody around was super friendly and patient. They were also very cheerful with me. Uhh- TSA? Cheerful? I work in the same industry/dept and they are never cheerful. So at least my body cavity search was done with a smile - and gently!!
They also helped pack my bag up, which was against regs - not that I am complaining.
At the gate, it was a clusterfuck. The flight was overbooked by 10 ppl and they were looking gor volunteers to get the boot. I kept my head down. The stewardesses were very friendly towards me -
And then! Oh shit!!
I opened my bag to grab my laptop (one handed and all stupid looking) and found no laptop! oh shit - it must still be at security. They let me get off the plane and go back to check. So, picture this - a woman with long brown hair, busted lip, band aid on her forehead over her eye, and a sling, ass tearing running down the concourse (of course, the furthest gate away) towards security.
Once there, I explained that my laptop must have somehow (?) been forgotton - remember, they packed my bags, against regs. The TSA agents tore the place apart. They stopped the line and went thru every single tray and bin until they found my laptop near the bottom of the stack.
Holy shit. That was super awesome of them. And very, very out of character.
So I took off running down the concourse again, this time with a laptop in hand. Several people I passed put 2 and 2 together and busted up laughing. It was funny - after the fact…
On the plane - now I am hot and sweaty and venting. Seriously, I think ever male head on that plane followed me to my seat. It was weird. I also didn’t have to do anything - my bags were stowed, a blanket was draped over me, my air vent was opened. Sweet.
I was also sitting next to a 1 year old. I have now (inadvertently) worn EST around a 4 month old and a 1 year old and had the exact same effect - they had a visceral repelling effect away from me, and a strong attractant to their mother. With the 4 month old, I was actually holding him, and he was doing everything he could to stay as far away as he could from my neck. ???
So that flight was relatively uneventful after all that. Lots of care and concern tho.
At my connection, I was starving - I dashed to a little mexican place for some take out burrito stuff before boarding my next flight. The guys at the mexican place were crazy concerned with me. The zeroed in on me out of a HUGE airport crowd and kept chatting, not flirting, but trying to cheer me up. I didn’t need cheering, I was happy anyway, so I playfully chatted back and forth. The guys around me in line and in the crowd were laughing along and helping me out with my bag, my cup, napkins, etc.
I finally get to the gate and am immediatly escorted on board for preboarding. I am the first one on the plane. No joke. The flight attendents strip me of everything and bring me back to my seat, put it all away, and then set up my food for me. Wow. What service.
I had two real characters sit on either side of me (yucky centre seat). A loud mouthed, jovial guy from minnesota, and a quiet, serious, totally stuck up, totally arrogant, snobby cardiac surgeon. I know he was a cardiac surgeon because of the engraved bag and padfolio he was carrying. He was one of those guys who had the leather fancy wing tip shoes, and his sport coat was that label, and his watch was rolex - and it was important that you knew it.
Total arrogant jerk.
So I am struggleing to eat my burrito with a little plastic fork and one handed. Its sort of sliding all over the tray on the plate the stewards happily supplied for me. This is annoying the Jerk next to me. He’s been sitting there for about 5 minutes.
He then reaches over and hold me plate steady as I try to cut into the tortilla. I am surprised, but he is helping, so I keep eating. He’s reading some cardiax surgey journal of super smart geekness, and is paying me no attention, but is holding my plate steady…
Then, I slip, and fling mexican rice all over his pants. Oh shit - he sighs heavily, and then…
He takes my fork and proceedes to feed me.
What the fuck!? Holy shit! Omg!
The Jerk, who is not meeting my eyes, and never introduced himself the whole flight, and we never said more than 5 words total, is fucking feeding me. If it weren’t phero driven and totally helpful cause I was starving, I would have busted his nose in.
So he fed me. My whole burrito. In silence. Then cleaned it up and threw it away. And went back to reading. I was sort of weirded out, but full, so I took a nap after chatting a bit to the guy on the other side - who didn’t really think the feeding thing was too strange…
Thruout the whole flight, if I needed anything The Jerk would do it or get it. Opened my soda, grabbed my ear phones, cleaned up my cup, flipped my tray, laid my jacke over me. We never said anything - aside from my Thank yous and his grunts. He never even looked me in the eyes.
So, at the end of the flight, as I am struggleing into my jacket, I get one arm in and sort of dance around to get the other one over my shoulder. Again, The Jerk sighs all heavily and then dresses me. like, bundles me up. Then puts my bag on my shoulder too. And then is gone.
Talk about weird…
Getting off the plane, I am walking towards the front, and the male steward can see me walk down the whole aisle. When I am two feet from him, he suddenly looks horrified and calls out “wait!!! Ma’am, do you need a wheelchair?”
Okay, seriosuly, I am only in a sling. I am not limping. I do not need a wheelchair.
The whole days was like that. One helpful, caring thing after another.
It was pretty awesome, but definitely weird!
Philly is still cold. I am staying with my brother in university city (cause his couch is free) and there’s some kind of crazy party going on in the city. Its like children of the freaking korn out there.
I am super jet lagged… La di da…
