Always funny with what shit people come up to get in as many girl’s pants as possible…
Too left brain, too verbal… like most of the PUA community material, the obsess over statistics , “game”… the masters (in any field you care to discuss) are so deeply wired on the unconscious mind level… I think that’s where John Grinder is going with his New Code NLP… a very coordinated, elegant relationship with the unconscious mind…
“Bruce Lee described three different stages in the cultivation of jeet kune do. The first stage is the primitive stage, in which a person is totally ignorant of martial arts knowledge and uses natural instinctual response to defend or attack in a fighting situation. At this stage, natural instincts alone prevail without thought process of right or wrong techniques. The second stage is the mechanical stage, in which a person learns controlled techniques by training. At this stage, the person trains the mind into new habits of thinking (the mental) and the body into new habits of action (the physical). Unfortunately, the fluidity found in the first stage is lost and learned techniques (the mechanical) prevail over the instinctual response. The third and final stage is the stage of formless form. At this stage, the martial artist understands his techniques where they become part of his spontaneous reaction.”
I studied with these two masters back in the 1970s… here they demonstrate the elegant Jang Kwon form… my impression was that real TKD has taproots in Korean shamanism, traditional dance, as well as fierce martial practice (being routinely dominated from the north by China and the east by Japan) one HAD to be excellent without access to weapons…
The taller of the two shown here ,Yang Kim, was technically Kim Soo’s student, however I have witnessed demonstrations of his ability within a few feet of my eyes that almost violated one’s sense of the physically possible.
Yang Kim could literally move faster than the mind could process information, you would see him in one position, then you would see him in another position, with no indication of movement in between… I have long suspected at the highest level of their practice that they touched on what we would interpret as the paranormal.
