Great topic.
Two separate discussions here that I see. The first is, is the issue of getting hits off drunk girls, or the increased percentage of hits around drunk girls. The second is what you do with those hits, whether it’s morally/legally acceptable to have consensual sex with an inebriated person and if it’s even possible for said person to consent if inebriated.
For the first topic, I think it’s a great point to bring up. Many of my more sexually outrageous hits have been in the presence alcohol. I have no idea how much those girls drank, but I just assume it’s a moderate to excessive amount. However, that being said, I’ve seen pretty strong hits in the absence of alcohol as well.
I don’t think anyone will deny that alcohol tips the situation in your favor. Even Jasmin has declared a long time ago that alcohol will help reveal what a pheromone might do (sorry if I misquote or simplify here, I’m working off memory). I suppose there could be a disagreement on the validity of an alcohol induced hit versus a sober hit.
I think a sober hit is definitely holds more weight than a drunk hit, but I don’t think that drunk hits are completely worthless either. A drunk hit can reveal the underlying motivations for said behavior due to an obvious decline in self-censorship.
There are other variables between a scene with alcohol present and absent. If alcohol is a factor, so might the overall impact of your impression. Maybe she’ll be so drunk that she won’t remember the night. By contrast, a sober woman will fully remember the impact you had on her, which could be advantageous later.
As far as the second topic goes, I have mixed feelings on it. One part of me say, look, she’s a grown woman, she knows what she wants to do and what she doesn’t want to do. If she’s planning on getting smashed, she should either make sure she has friends around (besides, what lonely person gets smashed by themselves anyway?), or make some sort of arrangement where she can guarantee her safety.
Everyone should know their limits, with everything, not just alcohol (or substances for that matter). You should know your budget, you should know how much food you eat, etc..Know yourself. If you can control your alcohol intake, you’ll be able to control your sexual advances as well. If the guy pushes past that, then that’s obvious rape right there, no doubt about it.
I don’t think a guy should be convicted of rape in a case where the girl gets really drunk and ends up regretting her night. Obviously there are large gray areas here, and things are very subjective. Bottom line is that a grown adult is responsible for him/herself. You don’t sue a building manager for negligence because you were too drunk, tripped and hurt yourself on some stairway.
From the perspective of the guy, unless you’ve been buying her drinks all night, you really have no idea how much she’s had to drink. For all you know, that could be her natural personality. Chances are, it isn’t, but that doesn’t mean you’re a mind reader.
I understand the flipside too, there are definitely cases where a woman is too drunk to speak for herself. That’s where her friends or your own sense of responsibility should come into play.
Maybe I’m biased because I’ve been in a similar situation recently. I brought a girl home, she was completely willing and didn’t seem out of control at all. She was capable of holding an extended conversation, seemed perfectly fine. She walked with me to my car, we hung out in front of my car in public for a while, there was no hang ups at all.
I ended up being accused of taking her against her will and raping her. The claims were later justified by her having been on drugs/drinking (they didn’t even know what or wouldn’t tell me). Now, having met her that night for the first time, how is there any way I could know that she was supposed to be so ‘fucked up’, when there was no behavioral cues? In this case, I think it was a false justification for their wrongful actions. In short, they accused me because it was convenient and socially acceptable (in that, such rape accusations are generally supported by the public rather than condemned).
It is a difficult topic as there are real victims and fake victims on both sides of the issue. What can we do other than hope that people will be honest and not take advantage of the situation, either by raping or lying?
