What happens if pheromone use takes off and they get restricted or made illegal?

Well, I am not an attorney, but I think there is a huge difference between wearing pheromones and pouring a mind altering pharmaceutical in somebody’s drink. As far as being sued over the use of pheromones, I think any such case could be ripped to shreds!

Let me get this right Mr/Mrs plaintiff - You’re claiming that my client wore some sort of cologne or pheromone that helped you make a conscious decision to have sex with him/her, is that correct? So, you already wanted to have sex with him/her, but weren’t entirely sure that was the right thing to do and you’re claiming that my client wore some sort of unproven voodoo chemical that induced you to make a conscious decision to copulate, is that about right? So Mr/Mrs plaintiff, just so I understand this correctly, are you saying that you were somehow hypnotized or mesmerized into engaging in sexual acts that you otherwise would not have? No more questions! Your Honor/Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, this matter would actually be funny if my client weren’t on trial. The plaintiff would have you believe that my client wore a cologne and that once the plaintiff got a smell of it, he/she was forced to engage in acts of sex with my client. This plaintiff is asking you to rule that their lack of moral character and poor judgment was a result of a smell, and that my client should be held liable. The plaintiff is asking you to believe that my clients cologne had the ability to remove his/her free will and forced him/her to do something that he/she didn’t want to do. Not only is this allegation absolutely ludicrous, but if there was a shred of truth to it, then the matter should have been brought as a criminal complaint, because it’s almost sounding as if they are alleging rape. Imagine that? a cologne that can eliminate free will. You cannot in good conscience believe that this plaintiff’s poor judgment and lack of morals are the fault of my client!

Pheromones are not pharmaceutical products, and probably never could be regulated as pharmaceuticals, as they are not mind altering and have no medicinal benefit.

As far as everyone finding out about pheromones and starting to use them, I am not terribly concerned about that either. Companies like Pherlure and the likes have tarnished the image of pheromones pretty badly and it will probably be many years before the image is repaired and they could go mainstream.

Just my thoughts, but I think it’s going to be a long time before we lose our phero edge.
